  1. How did Gerald Feinberg discover a non-existent particle?
  2. I just caught David (Darth Vader) Prowse playing a heavy in an old episode of The Saint with Roger Moore.

Also, isn't Doctor Who big in England? Might be cult here in America I guess.
It's currently mainstream, and was in the early seventies, but has been through phases of being down to just a cult following.

But yeah, ST:TNG, X-Files, those where just big shows period! Yes it has some die hard fans, but I wouldn't call them cult.
Does something being mainstream mean it cannot also be cult? There are levels of fandom after all. Not everyone who watched ST:TNG made themselves a Star Fleet uniform.

The omission of Blake's Seven and Babylon Five are major oversights from that list.

    Ghost's Origin?

Most Ghosts, Such as Ghost Widow, are magical. These ghosts are usually bound to a place or thing, and are unable to feel emotion, or change beyond the point of death.

It is possible to become a ghost by scientific means, some that don't always require you to die first, as established in a CoV story arc.

But any origin is possible. You could have a mutant ability that prevents your spirit passing on, for example.
  5. I reckon we would have gotten a lot more new content if the devs hadn't wasted so much time trying to balance PvP.
  6. I thought this thread would be about how to make a pop-up gatling gun animate, as that seems to be the only difficulty. Since crab spiders already exist, the issue is simply a matter of doing the same thing with a wider range of powersets.

  8. That's nothing, I've seen Scottish accents subtitled for British TV!
  9. It's basically another "early days of Televison" drama, like they did for Coronation Street.

Mark Gatiss is capable of making it entertaining though.
  10. I think it's more a problem with every other writer/director being cowardly. "Oh no, we can't kill that character! People like them!!" If only the red shirts are mortal, there is no tension.

Game of Thrones seems to have sorted that, though. So maybe everyone will be killing off well liked characters now. (expect a couple in "The Hobbit", at least).

    Obviously not on the Guardian.

    I would guess: J'onn J'onzz.

You make an excellent point. All the characters would have to be introduced simultaneously like a break out of super heroes.
Well, I would pick it up from the new Superman movie, so that's one character introduced already. And Batman? I wouldn't bother with an introduction at all. If you don't know who he is, what rock have you been hiding under? Indeed, I wouldn't bother with any Secret Identity Bruce Wayne (or other) stuff. He would keep the mask on and just be Batman for the whole movie.

    It's bad.

Mannish? She has more curves than any of those others.

    And Megan Fox? Ugggggh!!!

Killing stuff is not at all the same thing as sitting down in the middle of the mobs drinking tea whilst their attacks bounce off.

Thus, it is more chance that Tough will be granted automatically than it will be switched with boxing.

The way I read it, the status resist buffs are being made larger. The actual damage resistance buffs are just being added, at whatever value.
  17. I would be very surprised if any of these resistance bonuses are more than 2%, with 0.75% seeming more probable to me. You can stick big numbers on the mez resists without affecting anything much though.

Potential nerf: make it Smashing resistance only.
  19. I was hoping Joss would do a Black Widow solo movie...

Ice Melee looks to have better AoE than how it feels in play because of Frost. The metric just goes on total damage, without taking into account that it is a rather slow DoT. Short cones aren't exactly the nicest powers to use, either.

Nothing embodies tanking like jumping in to a group of 20+ enemies and going "Hey guys. I crapped in your coffee maker." and then watching them try to kill me.

This. The Value of Tough is >= two power picks.
  23. Overseer looks plausible. Don't see any reason to remove damage from his controls.

    Some more ideas:

    Retaliator

    Role: tank

    Primary: Defense
Secondary: Assault (but with BU or equivalent replaced with Taunt)

Ranged damage scale: 0.75, melee damage scale: 0.8

Def/Res scale: as tanker, HP scale: as Brute

Inherent: Retaliation. When attacked, retaliation bar fills. When full click button gives +100% damage buff and +25% to hit buff for a time. (yes, another reuse of Domination!)

    Equaliser

    Role: damage or tank

    Primary: Assault
    Secondary: Defense

Ranged Damage scale 0.8, Melee Damage scale 0.85

    Res/Def/HP: As Brute

Inherent: Mode selection. Assault mode: gives a +DMG buff and a chance for attacks to critical (like a scrapper), and +recovery. Defense mode: Gives +100% max hp, and an AoE taunt proc on all attacks, and +regen. Mode switching has a 5 minute cooldown and is interuptable, butt cannot be detoggled.

I don't agree that anything REALLY new is needed. It's just giving people more options (and the chance to make an Iron Man clone).
