Quote:Or just add alternative graphics for existing sets...Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing a blast set that wasn't something launched from your hand. Like you summon beams of light from the sky, chunks of earth from the ground, furious winds to overcome your opponent, etc. Ranged damage doesn't have to mean "Shoots out of the hand." So if they did that with a light-based set, that'd be okay in my book.
These days, if you want a new attack set, you need a gimmick. There isn't much difference between Ice and Water blast - apart from the tidal gimmick.
If you can come up with an interesting gimmick, attach the word "holy" to it, and post it too the suggestions forum. -
Stalkers get a much better tier 9. I'm thinking of dropping Hibernate all together next time I respec Frosty Robot.

Quote:Ditched, or destroyed?I think it's more along the lines of the Rikti made themselves unappetizing to the Battalion by ditching their well.
Could be an important plot point. Rikti have some way of countering well-power.
Oh, and the fist mention of the Battalion that I recall was in a paper magazine article on the Invention System. Must have been around issue 6 time. -

Quote:This would appear to be correct. The Battalion use a number of other species as minions (nictus?).The Shivans could come is useful here - they've already been established as the Battalion shock troops, as well as being able to alter and adapt themselves to their surroundings, so there's plenty of scope with them to expand the group to 50 with new enemy types to allow non-Incarnates to get invovled with the Coming Storm, even if they do decide to make the Battalion an Incarnate-only enemy group.
I doubt we will see any Battalion solo missions for an issue or two after the initial invasion anyway. -

The clips where exclusive to Comic-con. In the event that anyone would be naughty enough to record them and put them on the net, you wouldn't be allowed to link to them from here.

I can't find the patch note now, but I believe it's a deliberate nerf that also applies to Bonfire. The KB-KD chance should now be 40% in those powers.

Remember I made this observation:
Quote:I've just herd that footage shown at Comic-con showed Tony's Malibu home being destroyed by attack helicopters...Doesn't look anything like his workshop from the previous movies, and why would they use CGI when a set is already built?
Unless it's a different location.
And even if he moved his workshop to Stark Tower, I would expect anything designed by Tony Stark to be less drab and utilitarian. -
Quote:The point is, light blasting is already in the game. Full stop. The clue is in the name: Luminous Blast. Discussion of specific animations is a completely different, unrelated topic.I don't think we were discussing what is "essential." Water Blast wasn't, according to basically every thread since the dawn of time, and yet here it is.
Holy, given the mixed up pantheon of the game, is undefinable and could be anything*. Energy is, and always has been, the opposite of Negative Energy, which is not inherently "unholy".
*And will get even more mixed up when the Battalion arrive on the scene. -
Blasts coming out of your butt isn't covered by any powerset either. Doesn't mean adding them is essential.

Quote:Inspiring/corrupting others to evil deeds, whilst keeping his own hands clean, makes him even more evil. Then again, those things that Westin Phipps does are ACTUALLY done by player villains, not Phipps himself.
Westin Phipps is undoubtedly the most evil character in the game. -
Quote:Just because something isn't confirmed, doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. I never predicted anything about when something will be officially announced. I'm not even 100% certain they will all be part of the initial release of issue 24. But my predictions aren't based on magic or guesswork - they WILL happen* - and before issue 25 comes out.Since we don't have confirmation yet that we'll get customization in I24 or any additional pools (purchased or free) in I24, it's still only 50%.
* Oh, and Granite will be recolourable too. -

I don't see any reason why Aid Self would change. Making it available without another power pick is buff enough.

Except that Doc Ock was awful - "oh knows I'm possessed by my lab equipment". Should have stuck with him being a proper mad (but sometimes charming) scientist.

Quote:So you can have an attack chain just using Fighting and Brawl.Fun factoid we didn't mention in the Coffee Talk - Boxing, Kick, and Cross Punch also grant bonuses to your Brawl as well. They're just thematic/easter-egg-y, but they are fun.
If you have either Boxing or Kick, your Brawl has a 10% chance to proc a Recharge and ToHit debuff on its target. This debuff is double strength if you own both of those powers. If you own Cross Punch, your Brawl also has a 10% chance to proc a Regen and Recovery debuff on its target.
Main concern is this is very binary, and AT dependant. You either want is all, and it replaces most of your attacks (Tankers, Brutes, and maybe MMs, Defenders and melee Crabs). Or, because it doesn't proc crits, the attacks remain a poor choice (Scrappers, Stalkers, Corruptors, Controllers etc). Will it be possible to get Tough and Weave without any of the attacks?
Quote:On the Presence note, you mention the single-target Taunt becoming a single-target ranged Placate, but Unrelenting is the new tier 5 power in the set, and it's also pretty cool. Using it gives you a moderate Heal over Time, a moderate Recharge bonus, a moderate Damage bonus, and a moderate Recovery bonus. Additionally, you can use it while defeated, restoring a moderate amount of health and endurance to you if used in this manner.
Main concern here is that some of the new Presence abilities look like improved versions of existing secondary powers (Scare, Smoke Flash, Revive)! -

Quote:This. They could be doing stuff to the more crappy powers to make them less crappy.
The changes will be:
1) Addition of a 5th power to all pools.
2) Overhaul and general buff of existing powers
3) Graphic customisation
4) New pools to buy in the market
Since pools will be generally more powerful, it removes any pressure to nerf Hasten. When 5+ pools have "unskippable" powers, something has to be skipped...
