    i think implementing a system that is understandable, implemented with player feedback, and uses logic and common sense would entice current pvpers to pvp more often. really anything other than what we do know, hence everyone suggesting a reversion to i12 since, you're right, the devs will likely not visit pvp again and a reversion would make everyone alot happier. pre i13 wasn't perfect, but atleast it was the same as pve and made alot more sense than this system does.

    this also makes it alot easier for veats to get second leadership for stalker griefing, or if they didn't already have it, chances are they probably dropped something like sj/ss to get it, either way you'll see an overall increase in performance of stalker hunters.

    the "never get kills" comment was a bit over the top, but it does making building pvp toons exponentially easier in an already easy game/system.
  5. building for defense is pointless.

    traps sucks, and ff defender is only good for disruption with kb/repel,

    the mm blaster is the best out of the 4 (that isn't saying much) but even then paired with anything other than fire/sonic/psy, you're setting yourself up for a craptastic toon.
  6. the blaster and corr versions are AoEs and the scrapper version is ST. although this doesn't have anything to do with one being better than the other as much as the effects do. the blaster version has -fly AND -jump(as well as tank/broot versions) were as the corr and scrap version are just -fly

  8. elec control is horribad. it does no damage and the only thing it would have going for it is sapping which it doesn't do well or rather it doesn't do as well as other things.

    because its the only thing we have a definite view on?

    what else was announced? everything in the Q&A and was we might work on that sometime soon (TM)

    all the excitement people had for i19 is now aimed at i20 since i19 looks like its going to be the same as patch 15.

    and no one knows anything about i20 except that there is one so thats all speculation.

    the fitness change is the only thing we really know for sure atleast until we can see a video transcript of pax and see what the devs actually said instead of an overview.

    Sure, there'll be people who'll always min-max everything, and will take powers that make no sense within the framework of their characters (then again, some people don't even build enough of a framework of concept or character to have those "limitations" in the first place. To quote a broadcast I saw last night in praetoria on Virtue: "So, which has the better pop on this server in this game, Heroes or Villains, cause I'm about to hit 20 later today and I don't want to gimp myself by picking the wrong side."     Personally I'll be taking Superspeed (because it's RP-appropriate, even though I have fly as my main TP, and I dropped it in favor of taking hand clap back a while ago), RPD because it's the final power in my primary powerset, and probably either Group Fly for RP concept, or Combat Jumping which also fits, but is a bit more about the extra power.


    It's worth noting what someone can do with Vengence or whatever, but not everyone even uses the leadership pool, because it's not thematic, or they don't want the end drain. I doubt even 20% of the players think like you. I can bet money 20% of the ones on Virtue don't.
    I think this pretty much sums up why people min/max and don't like to RP.

    it'd be nice to hear a dev say this so I can stop hoping for anything related to the subject every time a new issue is announced.
  14. off the top of my head, blasters can get phase, veats now have an easier time getting double leadership, tanks and broots can get perception and earth mastery.

    easier game becomes easier.

    nope mids and in game are relatively close. i just don't think the devs will change it. for the obvious reasons.

    that is not the only way to do. it is just that, one way (and quite frankly not the most effective).

    I edit the last post after you quoted by i'll reiterate. its not about expecting a massive overhaul, its about how the dev team has treated the community, or rather hasn't acknowledged them at all which is what is triggering all the negativity (treat others as you want to be treated and all that jazz). there is a quick and semi effective "quick fix" to pvp that could be rolled into any issue, the devs just chose not to go that route, even though thats what the community wants.

    you could easily set it up to have said toon travel to each pvp zone, or even set up a tram in each pvp zone closing of the normal exits to those toons. or they could just set it so that you can travel in pve zones but all your powers are disabled, like in walk or something like that. as well as allowing you toon to slot anything after you're done picking the powers and slotting the slots. again, if they use even a small amount of thought, they could do something like this correctly.

    yea, O_I does it in probably the least respectable way as possible, but you can't honetly say that the pvp comm is just as well off by shutting the hell up and dealing with a broken system as they are bringing it up as much as possible and trying to get a change. this isn't about doing pvp correctly, yea it would be time consuming but alot of people aren't asking for an overhaul, just a reversion which would be the easiest thing to do and make the most sense. the real problem is the ignoring of a playerbase for 5 issues now which you're only going to have a chance at getting back by being vocal.

    I really don't understand why people would be against this.

    i mean just make it so that said character couldn't hold infulence, enter a pve zone nor participate in any pve content and essentially shut the character off from anything pve related. it be a nice "we're sorry" for getting absolutely no support from the dev team for 4 issues. if nothing else, it'd be nice to have this on test (since thats were alot of pvp happens now anyway)

    they have more benifit in pve (every bonus short of range and recov bonuses are nerfed to **** by DR and are pointless) and they exemp down in pve. there is really no point in calling them pvp ios anymore. it was a dev failed attempt to improve pvp(if not, it was just a bad idea in general). they should either stop calling them pvp ios and give them a purp-ish drop rate in pve, fix the pvp drop rate, or fix pvp.

    having pvp rewards earnable in pve is a really stupid idea anyway.

    I do agree that purple recipes are a bit much. having them on par with respec recipes in the 10-15 merit range is fair. Or you could give them a small chance to drop when you do the random rolls.
