  1. Problem being there isn't such a thing as an inactive account anymore.
  2. It's normally run by 3 full teams. The one I was on on Sunday, Rularuu was nearly at full health again after we brought down the 2nd respawn of the cubes. You need some serious regen debuffing to keep him from going back to full health.

I'm not going to say it's impossible, but you'd need very high AoE damage from each team member to clear spawns quickly, and very good regen debuffing on the AV. And it's timed. I'd be VERY impressed if only 3 people could pull it off.
  3. Devices for sure.

    Probably regen.

Also not a fan of dark armor. I have 1 50 DA brute now, she's very tough, but meh. I like to see my characters.

Yeah, this times 9,000. I'd be, "CLICK THE !@#$! GLOWIE NAO, NEWB! NAO!"

But I do remember the old days when the trial was actually hard....
  5. I have multiple top-end builds, and my EM/SD will probably remain one of my favorites. I don't generally solo a +4, and I don't solo AVs (often anyway), so I don't think the changes will affect me that much. Even among the people I normally play with -- mostly long-time vets with very powerful characters -- this is the general consensus.

Mostly this affects the few people who are on the bleeding edge of what it's possible to do. With this change, another set becomes *slightly* better than one that relied on HO's, and when you're at the bleeding edge small differences are huge.

However, my EM/SD scrapper will still be one of the best toons on any team, considering how infrequently I team with A-class farm builds. ^_^

And I don't think I spent 20-30 billion on that build. Over 16 billion, yes. The only thing I might have done to spend more is to shop around for level 52 HOs. ^_^

There's one tank top for women that does this, and I use it a lot for a leotard-style top because it looks so much better than the other options.

So my vote would be for more of that kind of thing.

I still don't see any explanation for why a villain would get better rewards. Other than the alignment merits it should be identical.

MIDs keeps track of when you've placed a slot. A slot available to you at level 13 is not one you'd be able to place in your level 49 power in-game of course, so MIDs won't let you place it there either. If you have slots that you're having trouble placing, you need to find where you have high-level slots place in a power you picked in the low levels, and do a slot shuffle where you remove that slot and then replace it with one of the lower-level slots, if that makes sense. MIDs should tell you what level the slot is, there are numbers in the lower right corner of each slot I believe.

I almost always have to do some juggling of this sort after I create a build and then work on revising it.
  9. Yes, villain Ouro takes you to villain side and villain zones. It can be annoying for rogues on some of the hero TFs that send you all over the place. Try running a shard TF that sends you to Founder's Falls, for example.

One bug that I've seen before on other TFs is if the leader is a rogue and Ouro's out, it can cause the next mission to spawn villain-side.

When that happened we had 3 rogues on the team so we were able to run the mission and continue on hero side, but it took a while for 3 people to clear a mission set for 8. :/

I've never heard of the disbanding thing either... but I've also never been on a team where all members wound up on the wrong side for the TF.
  10. Strangely enough, I've been able to buy them from the market for far less just this afternoon. (Level 50s that is.)

But yeah. In case anyone wasn't aware, Enzymes are dropping in price, Cyto's are coming up.

Now that I think of it, I should check my base to see what's actually in the Hami-O bin.

Demetrius seems to have missed that Union was the unofficial European RP server for years... it's hardly a hostile place for RP.
  12. It's annoying because I have several characters I need to respec and rework now.

I just worked out a new build for my EM/SD, and actually I was able to add even more defense overall, at the expense of a little end recovery. I think I'll be able to live with that. Personally, my EM/SD is designed to kill everything before it really has a chance to debuff me anyway. I don't think it will have a huge affect on me, aside from a lot of work to respec toons.

No, the old DA was really cool, as long as you weren't trying to SJ or teleport across it. Especially the ghost people that would disappear as you got close, but I liked the fog too.

Like Claws said, it's the fast travel that messes it up.
  15. I can't read the buttons either but I see what I've switched to in the text field and click again as necessary.

It's useful to me to use team, league, local, broadcast, and coalition chat at different times. For global channels I switch to the tab for that channel and us all, and make sure it's set to the channel.

But I'm working with a knowledge of what order the different chat channels are listed in at least. They should be bigger, I can see how a new player wouldn't even know where to start with them.
  16. Well at least it's nice to know that my thread really did exist for a short while and had some replies. I never saw any of it -- I posted on my break at work, went home, looked for it and nothing was there. No clue why it was deleted, though I did know it was kind of a touchy subject for some people, but that's why I thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss. Meh.

Guess I'll need to start a joke thread next time... maybe a "top ten rejected names to try and sell".

(I could be enticed to give up "Dark Dr. Dark", my dark-themed defender, who's on Guardian I think... lol.)

Since we're talking about something limited to VIP Beta, I'm not sure you can post pictures or discuss anything about it here.

Well actually, they're talking about beta stuff all over the boards so what do I know? Post away!

    Costume Codes

I applied mine immediately, but they were what I was supposed to get. Hope that's true for the person with the Harlequin code as well.
  21. I keep wanting to respond to this thread by saying "yes, I'm ignoring you," but then it would be obvious that I'm not. >.>

Personally I'd err on the side of "they're too busy dealing with tells and missed mine". Especially when forming multi-team leagues there's a lot to keep track of for the leader.

I got the shards & Notice to get my third tier Alpha, so it worked out OK.
Yeah, that was me. ^_^ And I agree, it's been a long time since I was on a team that needed to use any strategy on Rommy. But we normally clear first at least. I'm not sure if that would have make a difference or not though. Pulling away from the ambushes helped.

I enjoy all styles of running an ITF, actually. ^_^ Being able to stomp it inside 20 minutes is thrilling, being able to pound through it at +4 is thrilling. But mostly I like a +1 or +2 steamroll.
  23. I played a dug-style ITF tonight. Random PuG, leader decided to switch to his uber tank and run at +4. We had two MMs, two crabs, a stalker, and my fire/rad troller. Things went pretty well until we got to Rommy, but this is where the difference between a PuG and a run with the people I normally work with was apparent -- we didn't fully clear, we didn't even kill the minotaur and cyclops on either side of Rommy before jumping him. We wound up pounding him for 15-20 minutes while barely making a dent, before enough people died and we pulled back to regroup. I hospital'd to grab new inspirations, nobody else did that, then we decided to try again -- but we once again did not clear, did not discuss strategy, just jumped in. We did pull him to the grass this time, that helped. And we finally won. 2 hours, I gained 4 levels, can't complain about that at all.

So I guess that's doing it the challenging way. Personally I prefer a good steamroll run. ^_^

It amused me that Impy was level 54 though. He was handclapping and footstomping guys into oblivion, lol.
  24. I dare anyone to watch the Venture Bros. and tell me it's a childish, kid's show.

    And it is a cartoon.
