I get back from my holiday this friday, so, hopefully I should be able to make it to this event, probabily on Gale though, as Sweet will be staying on her holidays a while longer!

I personally think smoke is a really useful power, it´s alot like mass hypnosis from the mind powerset.
It can be useful to keep mobs from joining in a fight, make travelling at lower levels alot easier, plus I find the acc debuff is also quite useful at times, especially solo
On the few fire controllers I´ve tried, the best example I have for smokes usefulness is in the cavern of transcendence. With so many mobs so close to each other, fights can often become big challenges, but, with a good enough team that understands when not to attack things, you can keep fights small and easy to manage, without any need for failed snipes and massive debt at lower level
I would personally take smoke over recall friend, as it will serve you better for usefulness, especially if you dont intend to take teleport, or any of the other powers from the tp pool.If I had to choose a power from the tp pool, however, I suppose the teleport enemy power (the name of which I just forgot) might be a bit more useful for group holds etc. But I would deffinatley think about dropping that in place of lovely smoke

I´m having a nice time here, it´s amazingly hot, some might say unbearable, but I´m not one to complain

FF is an amazing solo defender!
It might be a little slow, but with knockback, blasts and more defence than any other defender gets, it´s a mighty easy grind, imo anyways!
It isnt anything like rad or dark to solo, and it isnt anywhere near as quick as kin, but it is fun, and quite easy when coupled with /energy (for super knockback fun) or with /dark (for "why cant things hit me?!! fun!) imo anyways.
Bubbles really shine in teams, though, so I wouldnt suggest you use it in hopes that it will be an amazing solo toon.

I am currently sitting at a pay per mintute PC, in boiling hot, suntan heaven-spain! It´s amazingly hard using a spanish keyboard, as it has all these odd symbols on it, and everything has been moved round a little!

Health is a waste of slots for an empath, because you have healing aura. There isn't any need for you to +regen any faster when you have the ability to heal yourself anyways.
I'd personally drop health in place of swift+hurdle.
I only ever slot health on blasters, as they need all the regen they can get

I duo with an ice tank nearly all the time on my emp, my little pet Nezorf, and it has to be, at times, the most boring time I have in game! I just know nothing is going to go wrong, and we arent going to find anything a real challenge!
Empathy/Tank combo is godly!

I'm too stupid to make any binds, lol, so I've just twitch healed to this day! Never got me in much bother before, and tbh, I find that binds would only make life a little harder.

I like soloing my emp, but then I love psi blast more than empathy, so it gives me a chance to pretend to be a blaster for a while
It can take a while compared to my rad, but it's not any less fun. Having a toon you adore helps though!

And just to add, if the teams arent coming to you, make the team yourself!
Getting to know people, and having them trust you/you trust them makes the empaths job alot easier. PUG's are imo the hardest way for empaths to level.
The people in a PUG are generally not used to your playstyle, think that because you heal you are a god and can keep them alive no matter what! And then they moan at you when they get another debt badge!
Having a few people to team with all the way, who know your limits, aswell as their own, have a laugh, and are, well, good to team with, makes the empaths job alot easier and more fun packed!
So get inviting some people!

Empathy is no more boring than any other powerset, it's just alot more subtle than say...fire armour, or energy blast.
Without a skilled empath, many missions would never have been completed, and many people would have been working off alot more debt. I'm not saying that it's an amazing, "omg u cant do anyfing without an heal0r!", type powerset, but it is a mighty useful additon to a team!

Just play too many alts at the moment, but Sweet still comes out of the broom cupboard sometimes!
