Thank you everyone for the nice replies. Means a lot to me. And thank you Bio for posting it a very nice monday morning surprise

As Bio stated this is the very first time I've ever attempted to digitally colour a piece of line art but after folowing a tutorial posted in another thread I found I had a bit of a flare for it. Now comes the serious practice sessions.

So ..... here comes the request. If anyone has a lineart from the either of the shows they would like coloured then I could do with the practice. Just leave a message here and I'll PM you back. Keep in mind that I am in fulltime employment so it could be some time before you see a finished piece.

Thanks again everyone for your comments.

Yup, never done it before in my life. Took me about 4 hours in total to colour that pic to the standard it is.

Oooo thank you, don't know what to say. I feel all humbled.

I hope so cause I could really do with the practice. If anyone knows a good online resource of lineart that artists are freely willing to allow budding colourists use then I will most thankfull.

Thank you again

Following the success of the Bio Girl pick I coloured Bio Girl herself asked me to colour a piece of fan art from the uncannyxmen website. The art is of Psylocke. The origninal lineart can be found here (drawn by a chap calling himself claydaddy) and my digital colouring interpretation can be found here.

Would love to hear comments/feedback. Keep in mind this is only my second piece.

Cheers.

I really like the way you color them! Good eye for colors and not afraid to use of them. (Only now noticed this thread). And even more impressive since it's your first tries at it!

I have some scanned line-art that I haven't got around coloring, if you're interested. (Not as professional as Bates, but you'd get to show them around )

Excellent, thanks for the offer of line-art. I would be more than happy to colour them. I'll send you a PM in the morning with an address you can email them to. Looking forward to it.

Cheers for the complements on the colouring projects so far. I am working on a third piece and hope to finish it soon. So keep an eye on this thread.

Well it's been a loooooooong time in the making but I have finally managed to complete a colourisation of MaxPowerz. Only my third piece of work like this. Surprisingly the hardest part was the belt - and I'm still not happy. There is a lot more I would have liked to have done but my skills atm are not up to the images in my head

As always all comments welcomed. My next project is some of BlackDoves line-art.

MaxPowerz - In Technicolour!

Excellent Indeed

Well done Frice

I like the simplicity of the background, simple but effective. Also the lightning effects are very nice. It's cool how you are enjoying yourself and learning new things (everytime I do new picture, I learn new things as well, it's great feeling). In this picture, perhaps the light/shadow could have been more contrasted. I am very curious to see what (and which picture) you come up next

Thank you Sayia and Blackdove for the comments.

Blackdove - you will just have to wait and see what I come up with on your lineart If I get enough "quiet" time in work today I'll make a start on one of them.

Your comments about the the light/shadow I fully agree with. I think atm I'm playing a bit "safe" but as I gain more confidence I'll probably start getting a bit bolder with my colouring.

As always keep an eye on this thread

PS - Hay Max!! Where's your comment hehe

Since im a hopeless X-men fan i had to try some colors on that Psylocke picture.

I had nothing to do with the nice lineart, just put colors on. And yeah, one glowing sword to many i know. Too lazy to correct that now though :P

WOW that is 100 million times better than my effort. Excellent work there. Now I'm just going to find a dark, quiet corner in which to cry over my lack of talent.

Wt... yer doing no such thing *spanks*

Ok - I'll stop sobbing in the corner and get on with more colouring. Take a look at Swissy's thread Work Sketches for a piece I'm currently working on.
