Okton forgot to mention that he was also IOd up from like level 10

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or for being the squishest Brute this side of the Shadow Shards

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This.
  2. You can do it, but it's a bit annoying before Power Sink (lvl 35). Dark Consumption can miss and you need a few mobs to fill up you endurance bar, and Conserve Power has a really long recharge. After 35, you can get away with only using 2 out of the 3.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
DM/ also goes well with Elec in my opinion.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Very true.

    [ QUOTE ]
Endurance is no problem either due to the 3 end recovery powers on offer (although i doubt many people would get all 3!)

    [/ QUOTE ]
I tested a few variations (skipping Stamina) and settled for Dark Consumption (for Fury) + Power Sink (auto-hit, short recharge).

    [ QUOTE ]
Its also the way to go if you want to make a buzzsaw build (build with a fair bit of recharge so that attack chain consists almost entirely of shadow punch and smite to build fury v quickly. Sometimes relies on procs to improve dmg)

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm still a bit unconvinced about whether it's worth it. I did drop Shadow Maul at higher levels and use the 2 single-target attacks for quick Fury building (along with Disruptor Blast for some extra +rechg using a proc) but most of my damage comes from Lightning Field (slotted with dmg and stun procs).

Overall it's a nice combo with some handy tools although you won't do as much raw damage or be as indestructible (at least by yourself) as other set combos.

    Kin/elec defender or grav/sonic controller.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Forgot I also have an ill/rad troller.
  5. Kin/elec defender or grav/sonic controller.

    Fire/Rad build

and no -tht in Rad Infection???
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Only a accu/rech? Shame that with so little accu you miss so often that your dire dam procs are wasted let alone the usefullness of the power itself is rendered near useless...
And how you slot a enhancement a hold in an immobilize power?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well personally I use 4 Traps of the Hunter (including the dmg proc), 1 Impeded Swiftness dmg proc and the (purple) hold proc from Gravitational Anchor.
  8. Can I be on the list too please?

And for the record, I did try DS for a while, but I found it useless about 90% of the time. I have a grav/sonic which I mainly use for STF runs so I do use the single-target one on AVs/towers (and also have a hold proc slotted in Crushing Field which works nicely alongside the damage ones).
  9. Le premier donne une protection, le 2e n'offre que résistance.
  10. I have a grav/sonic and although he is fun in teams, he was really hard to solo. I levelled him to 50 before the changes to the sonic gfx, so back then not only did most people not know what sonics did, but they couldn't even see the effects visually (and Disruption Field used to aggro back to you ). Although he's a great toon to play in large teams and on things like the STF, I don't think Grav is the best primary to pair with Sonic. Your Sing doesn't really need the shields, and you can't use Disruption Field on it very well because of its k-back aura. With the latest pet AI changes, I think Ice could be a good match, maybe followed by Fire or Earth. It's a nice set although I still think Clarity should come much earlier. And Liquefy is only good if you have Power Boost tbh.
  11. Sad indeed . And strange too since in other cases PB affects some attributes of a power but not others (like the +def in Vengeance, but not the +dmg). I can't see why it should work differently with the shield .
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Have to say I think Ice is far better than Rad for soloing (and a bit better than Fire).

    [/ QUOTE ]
This. With Sonic between Ice and Fire, although secondaries will make more of a difference (i.e. fire/rad will be faster than ice/thermal).
  13. [ QUOTE ]
For mace, obviously it will boost the defdebuff but can anyone confirm that it will boost the -res? Also, does Powerboost boost +res or only +def? If only buffs +def then thats another thing in scorpion's favour!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Resurrecting this thread now that I've done some testing. My mind/icy dom recently hit 41 and after a bit of thought, I finally decided to go for Mace (although I know I'll occasionally miss not having Power Sink), partly for the Def set slots which will help with my perma-dom build, partly because I wanted to try Poisonous Ray, partly for the blast which I also have on my brute and allows you to slot a +rechg proc, but also because I was counting on PB helping with my shield. BUT. Now that I've tested it, it seems that PB isn't affecting Scorp Shield at all . I've used both the Combat Attribute window and the Combat log to check it, and it seems to have no effect when I click on PB (I also tested it with Combat Jumping to make sure, and there you do see the difference when PB is up). Has anyone else tested this? I'm sure PB affects other +defense powers, so I'm a bit disappointed if it really doesn't work with my patron shield .
  14. A few suggestions:

    - Yes, slot 3 EndMods in AM, or even better use the sets (in particular Efficacy Adaptor)
    - Rad Infection: I'm not sure how valuable the +dmg buffs are given your rad debuffs, but if you're short on slots, you could always slot 3 Enzymes instead (not sure what level you are)
    - Blaze: I would slot either Decimation for the +rechg (although it's pricey) or Thunderstrike/Devastation (probably a mix of those). If you can afford another Apocalypse then I would keep it for the bonuses, otherwise a single one isn't that useful (compared to what you can buy if you sell it).
    - For PvE I would skip Acro and slot a -kback in CJ.
    - Inferno: I would fully slot damage before recharge. Look at Scirocco's for the acc bonus.
    - EM Pulse: strange slotting here. You need more accuracy since it's an AoE and I wouldn't bother with the stun proc given that it's already a hold (and it's worth enhancing that part of it) and you don't use it often enough to make it worthwhile. I would really try to 6-slot it if possible, Endoplasms are nice too.
    - Tactics: 3 Cytos are enough, or 4 Adjusted Targeting if you want the acc bonus.
    - Charged Armour: you may want to fully enhance the Res part. 4 slots are enough but consider slotting the Res/EndRdx from the other sets.
    - Fire Blast: try to get 1-2 more slots here. It's a decent attack.
    - Fire Ball: if you're slotting Posi Blast, think of using the dmg proc. It adds some nice damage given how much you're spamming this power (less useful for RoF imo given the recharge).
    - Power Sink: another EndMod would be useful. Have a look at sets too since they have nice bonuses.

    Hope some of this helps!

The Phantasm running in to melee despite only have ranged attacks is helluva buggy as it's never done that before.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just because it didn't do it before doesn't make it a bug. I can slot a Voltaic Sentinal with a chance of stun proc. It's never stunned anything before, so does that make it broken?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Come on PRAF, let's be serious. The proc is what lets you do something you couldn't do before. This should be predictable (chance to stun, chance for +rechg, chance for dmg, whatever). The fact that it has unintended side effects (like changing the pet AI) is a bug (since the IO description never mentions it). Whether it's a bug which might work nicely on some pets (like the bruiser) is besides the point. If you slotted a chance for dmg proc in an attack and it suddenly drained all your endurance (in a predictable way, but which was not mentioned in the IO description) you would say it was bugged, right?
  16. Known bug I'm afraid. See clicky. Might be good for the Bruiser, not so great for Phant .
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Hey, you can't have my Domination either, and I suggested it!

    [/ QUOTE ]
I quoted it in a half-serious way since I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with Containment (or Domination) at the moment. But I agree with the general point about how conceptually, Domination is closer to what you would expect as an inherent for controllers (and I play both). If anything I think that giving Containment (as it is now) to Dominators would probably make them over-powered.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
for the inherents to be swapped between Controllers and Dominators

    [/ QUOTE ]
This. Although you would probably need to up the damage a bit on some of the controller attacks (at least single-target ones).

    Respeccing

I'd say Conserve Power. With Stamina, you'll need it a lot less, and Power Sink is only a few levels away. I have a Stamina-less dark/elec but I get another +end power from my primary (so don't have Conserve Power). Another option is to drop Lightning Field for now and take it later. It's a good power but very endurance hungry, and mainly useful in large-ish teams (I don't know if you solo much). Changing a Dmg enhance for an EndRdx in your attacks would also help your endurance problems and if this allows you to build Fury faster (and keep it going), you won't miss that Dmg SO anyway.
  20. Hmmm... have Fri and Sat nights free, but not sure about Sun. Will see...

Oh, and OVTeaming is the sexeh channel!!11!!
  21. [ QUOTE ]
try to take Gasses at 18 if possible somehow.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Well, not really . And it doesn't need Acc. Slot 3 Rechg and then you can use the other slots for dmg procs later on.

Also, if it's a PvE build I wouldn't bother with Acro. Just slot a -kback IO in CJ.

And definitely Fissure over Hurl Boulder!
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    OMG Mesmer duelling?

I heard he uses insps though
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I can say I want to play in the "new" players pool, then bring my fully IO'd PvP build to the match and well.. still put off new players .

    [/ QUOTE ]
But then you only get to brag that you're the best among the beginners . Anyway, just thinking of ways to keep it simple, having preliminary rounds will make it a scheduling nightmare.
  24. Strangely enough, I seem to agree with Stage. Although a point-based system would be better, it is not practical for the purposes of a tournament like this (and rather subjective). A simple division system in which people self-classify themselves (which is of course also subjective, but less so) could be better. That way beginners can fight beginners, and the same with casual/hardcore players. 3 levels would be ideal, but maybe 2 is enough complication already. Add in some 3vP randomness and it would make a great tournament which could appeal to a wider playerbase while still allowing for bragging rights among the usual suspects.
  25. Adding to what Icelock already said:
    [ QUOTE ]
Repel is a good shield against melee attacks (although you may want to just *nudge* yourself into near-by badguys, as they can hit you before you hit them at times),

    [/ QUOTE ]
Repel is not a shield at all. It's a PbAoE k-back aura which works very badly with several other /kin powers. Skip!
    [ QUOTE ]
siphon power is aparently a good debuff.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As well as a buff. And it stacks with itself.
    [ QUOTE ]
/kin is an utterly selfish power set (ignoring SB and ID), with one-shot debuffs all the way through but no damage.

    [/ QUOTE ]
What??? Kin is best on teams. SB and ID, yes, but also Transference, Transfusion, Siphon Power, IR, Fulcrum. All benefit your team-mates. And kin no damage???
