Quote:That's right, it's all a conspiracy against the common man and unwashed masses. This sort of thing should only be tested during Double XP weekend, when it has the possibility of crippling the most players. But at least then, the downtrodden won't be trampled under foot by so many elitist players and sycophantsVery convenient that the server queue code change gets applied at a time when the unanointed and unwashed masses (among whom I miserably count myself) will most want to get a look at character creation, as we have been able to do during every closed beta so far. Timing, as they say, is everything ...

Quote:Well neither did I. At least not on that shard anyhow.I'm laughing right now, because Posi doesn't have a level 50 to show off Arachnos Soldiers and Widows.
There were eight terminals for CoH at Comic Con. Four were hooked up to the Issue 16 beta server, and the other four were hooked up to Live. Which means that I couldn't play may Live character on the Issue 16 beta build.
I'm sure he could have used GM commands to give himself a lvl 50 character on the beta server, but since Power Customization won't yet apply to Epic ATs, the point is moot anyhow.
Also, it's better to show what players will see from a "new player experience" when trying to entice non-subscribers onto the game. It's probably why Epic ATs got a pass this round until other considerations are met, especially when competing against "that other game" starting next month. -

Quote:Well that's odd, because I've been using the Win7 RC for almost three months now without so much as a problem, save for a video driver update issue (an nVidia problem that I was able to roll back).I tested the Windows 7 Release Candidate with City of Heroes over the past month and made the following observations:
- I only got one CoH patch to complete successfully. The rest failed, and got stuck in a loop where it would keep "Fixing Files" forever. I had to solve the problem by copying the files over from my Mac CoH client. Running the Updater as Administrator didn't help, nor did messing with the permissions.
- Very low framerates and very high lag with an nVidia 9800 GT, which shouldn't happen. On a medium sized team, even the simplest visual effects would slow the game down to a slideshow. Yes, I was using the official nVidia driver and not Microsoft's.
- Instability, the game would crash or freeze several times a week so that the entire system would no longer respond (requiring a hard reset).
- Switching back to Vista miraculously solved all the above problems.
It looks like Windows 7 is not yet ready for CoH.
So I don't know what to say. Sucks to be you? J/K, but I think it might be a problem pretaining to your specific build more than the RC. Hell, I think the game runs better on my Win7 build than XP. -
Devs didn't expect anyone to "drop everything and fly across the country to go to the convention," especially when passes to the event had sold out months in advance. They have a game in the genre and wanted a booth there for everyone to see, not just "loyal players."
I think we all expect to have a good, bug-free issue when it goes to live, and if closing stuff off during closed beta is a part of that, so be it. It's probably something they wanted to implement since closed betas started, but didn't have the tech to do so until recently.
Please get over your sense of entitlement. It will be ready when it's ready - hence closed beta. -
I would think that's already in the cards somewhere, and would also explain why Kheld Power Customization has been passed for this round, due to Nova/ Dwarf forms having the same problem.

Quote:Indeed.Yeah, another thread just posted that Posi confirmed I16 beta starts today.

Old problem is still old. Aren't there several other threads on this same topic?* Did we need another?**

Voted "terrrible" due to OP, but there's a lot of other win in this thread. Sorry for jumping the gun

All of my above perks are costume codes from events like Comic Con and Hero Con. I have the Comic Con perk from this year, but haven't applied it yet. However, since others don't have these codes, I assume that buying character or MA slots might also count as Perks. -

In regards to the digests, it's a known issue. Really no more need to report the obviously broken digests
Also, Zombie_Man's made this handy temp digest to look at recent posts from oft-posting devs and reps. -
I played Fallout 3 most of the weekend. I know - bad Obsidius!
-
Quote:Well, you're entitled to your opinion. It's probably not the best work I've done, but thankfully not the worst.Much love and all, Obsidius, but that's pretty damn atrocious based on your choice of colours alone already. Unless they add the City of Clowns in Going Rogue. Seriously, it's pretty much lending weight to the anti-image side.
But unless the image breaks the forum rules in regards to obscenity and the like, I'm free to display it, regardless of your opinion
Quote:Even with all the bonus carriage returns you chucked in, your sig picture is bigger than your contribution to the thread, makes me LOL. When you throw in a one liner it's literally 10+ times larger than the post!
Edit: Oh and hey look at that, the  smiley doesn't work anymore and there is no quick smiles!
I'm pretty sure using IMG tags in a thread is a bug, but being worried about forum signature images is the least of your concerns at this point -

Bug Description: IMG tags are enabled, not only for signatures but for anything. Example:

Not sure if this is intended, but I know on the US forums there were reasons this feature was disabled for normal accounts
Suggestion: Disable IMG tags for normal accounts, but fix image upload for signatures (problem described by Croesis). The current 600x120 size limit should be sufficient for forum signatures.
Edit: Forum Images are intentionally Allowed. All normal Forum Rules and Regulations are valid, and we will have an update soon to cover this expanded area. If people want to severely abuse the potential of this feature, that's (part of) what I get paid for. -The Ocho -
Quote:Had the same problem - just use [IMG] tags in the text area of your sig. Worked fine for me.Urm, ok so maybe this is just me.
I can't seem to get the signature image to work. It seems to upload, doesn't give me any error but doesn't display on the preview. I also can't seem to hotlink to one on my host...
I've tried a PNG and a GIF... is this perhaps limited to jpg only? If so thats kinda lame.
png > jpg
And yes it was smaller then the specified sizes in both respects.
>_>
Also the limiting to only five lines of text in the signature seems odd too. I mean my current Sig isn't long but its apparently too long for the current requirements. -
Throw my vote in to retain my signature image.
You can pry it out of my signature when I'm deadUntil then, here it is in glorious 400x120 beauty
In fact, I'll be making a new version at the max size (600x120) shortly -
Is there a way to remove reputation from a poster?

Pain Domination is entirely based on mental control. You don't actually 'heal' anyone, you just make them ignore any pain they might be feeling.
Kind of like how someone hopped up on PcP can demonstrate feats of 'invulnerability'.
Which is why it's a villainous powerset.

Does that make the medics on the sidelines at Football games villains? They give the players a hefty cortisone shot after they get injured and then send them right back onto the field.

A while back, I was asking Ex about volunteer forum moderators. Because of problems NCSoft has had in the past in different titles, the practice is strictly verboten.
Now, if player volunteers forum moderators aren't even allowed, then I really doubt that we'll see any player volunteer GMs in the near future. -
Don't worry about me, I'm just here to humor people
