Fare well Fonz, you'll be missed. GL wherever the interweb trade winds take ya

Bah, could have used more prior notice on this. Just saw this thread today and would have liked to join with my main
Esp since I was not on the forums at all yesterday, save for the late evening.
-
Would have loved to been at Disneyworld to meet you... haven't been there since I was 3
-
Meh, the day after I'm home sick
At least I'll be getting off of work at 5pm, so I should have enough time to catch the last half of the window. -
If the badge counter isn't working since you received the Trailblaizer badge, it sounds more like a bug than something a GM will easily be able to fix.
-
As opposed to sarcasm, I've submitted a trouble ticket and am working with Support to nail down the issue. Seems to be more productive IMPO. Would have gathered more data earlier but was offline most of the day.

Happens to me every time I play, every half hour like clockwork. Win 7 RCS (Ultimate ed) 64-bit. Could this be related to a recent Windows patch? Or a recent game patch? Can't remember it happening until a week or two ago.
Getting the same erros too:
A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by a process (City of Heroes). (Error ID 9010)
and
The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application. (Error ID 9013)
Only happens when CoH is running - which makes sense judging to the logs. -
Quote:Meh, I think the Praetorian angle's been played into the grounds since CoV came out, but that's just my opinion.I still need to come up with a name for a Praetorian version of one of my heroes -_-
My angle is that my main hero was spat into Paragon city during a dimensional anomaly on his dimension. What if one of his cohorts fell into the same anomaly and ended up in Praetoria?
And no, his cohort isn't a gargoyle -
Another Sarah Palin joke thread. How original. Welcome to last month.

Just stopped by to say Hello! to a pair of Justice-ites I bumped into at Disneyland who spotted my with my Freem! t-shirt. I'm not even sure if they read the forums, but I wanted to apologize for not introducing myself properly - I was impossibly tired after a long day of venturing all over OC. It's always a pleasure meeting fellow CoH players in RL

Fortunately, the worst I ever did was think about shopping at MMO Art
-
Indeed. Which is why I'll mention this site again:
http://www.bbb.org/us/Find-Business-Reviews/
Search for "MMO Art". If you feel you've been wronged, simply file a complaint. All of the complaints filed so far have been resolved, so you might have a chance of getting resolution yourself.
Any action beyond that would be legal, which is against the rules to discuss on the CoH forums -
On-topic:
That and I'm sure that coloring the Dwarf and Nova forms share the same technical issue as coloring Granite Armor. -

Quote:There are several lawsuits out there against NCSoft, Blizzard, Sony, etc. by people who have supposedly patented "interaction with other people through the Internet in 3D environments" and "communicating with people across the Internet with text messages", which basically applies to all MMOs. So it's possible to patent a system, regardless of how obtuse or silly most of us think it is. Holding up the patent in court can be a different situation altogether.I'm not sure it'd be possible to copyright stuff like that anyway - maybe the looks and names, but not the actual mechanics.
Like for example Cryptic could perhaps copyright the name "nemesis system", but they couldn't copyright the idea of making a player-created nemesis system
But that's off-topic. -
Quote:If you're going for two years...I've been noticing a trend here.
We haven't received a single new costume outside of a booster pack in what... A year? Two years?
I suppose you could count the Halos and the Pumpkinhead, but thats about it. Every other costume has been put out in Booster packs, ever since they were first launched.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with booster packs, but it leaves a pretty bitter taste in the mouth when EVERY single costume is put through them.- Issue 12 included the unlockable Roman costume bits just and weapons for completing the TF (and additional new weapons for beating it twice)
- Issue 13 introduced a ton of costume parts for Day Jobs, including spiffy new jackets, ties, and shirts, that were free with the issue.
- Issue 14 was all about the Architect and not much else
- Issue 15 had the aforementioned Vines and Ulterior patterns
- Issue 16 was all about Power Customization. No costumes, but craploads of things to do with Powers in the Tailor.

Quote:DittoGratz on your forum title, Obs! It's been great having the Paragon Regulators as coalie mates over the years. Even though my time in Paragon City is limited now, it's a nice surprise when I can run into you guys every so often
We've been less active online ourselves, but we love running in to you
-
... you fondly miss OS debates over TW drama and such
... you compare your Stone Armor build with Grudge (I miss that guy)
... you were at a Crockpot-led Speedo Raid
... you remember the when the Fusion Force was just starting out
... you try to make the infamous Black List (Still jelous that Batz made it and I didn't)

Consider me tentatively RSVPd in the positive. I need an excuse to use thie Wedding Pack stuff I bought a while back
Congratulations -
Could not have said it better myself. Got caught in the same problem myself until I figured it out
That should give you the more precise results similar to the old forum's Search tool.

Agreed. Lifetime subs are usually only ever offered when a game launches, although I know LOTRO still makes them available on occasion during special events. Still, that's a much newer game than CoX - and they've always had a lifetime sub option (as opposed to bolting one on well after launch). I think offering lifetime subs at this juncture would hurt the game more than it would help, given the dedicated vet subscribers.

Quote:Wow, I just had an epiphany! Is Beast Sprint in the works, or as a customization to regular Sprint? That would be killer!BABS!!!
You guys are apparently farther along on the tech than [Walk] had me believe. I see your [Ninja Run] with all powers in tact! You sly devil!
Does this hopefully mean we'll get some cool new run animations in the near future? -
Synopsis after last night:
So I've got this Natural DB/WP Scrapper I rolled without travel powers. The toon works great, but the "no travel powers" concept was giving me the rub. On the one hand, I did want hims to get around the city easier without Hurdling like an idiot (because of increased Jump speed). OTOH, none of the standard travel powers really fir the concept. I couldn't decide if I wanted to respec him or delete him. Before last night, he hadn't been touched in 214 days.
So I bought this pack to revitalize the character. I log in, and he's at the AE in IP. I claim some vet rewards in the character and slot the new Walk and Ninja Sprint powers. Then I hit Ninja Sprint.
And the only words I can use to describe Ninja Sprint is... holy hell! I zip around IP, doing flip jumps where needed to the Green Line. I zip around Croatoa to my next mission. I hack and slash my way through that and go back to the contact. I'm running and flipping with my dual blades out, and my character looks badass.
It's like every animation of the new power was built for Dual Blades. One blade across the front and another extended behind while running, and when he jumps, he holds his blades out like Deadpool, and when he flips they cross over each other like he's going to mow down whatever pops up in front of him.
I'll concede to Samuel_Tow: yes, this power is much more useful than Self Destruct or the Jump Pack. But I'll also agree with Bill Z Bubba - I don't see a problem with it. Probably the best $10 I've spent on a pack. BAB, tell this new animator this is top-noth stuff right here.
Hold on a sec...
I've just been informed theres actually more stuff in this pack, like emotes and costume parts. I'll have to check those out sometime today -
