MMOart

So i have been meaning to make this post for a while now and just had other things online that i thought were more important to catch up on but i really want to clear this up as far as my commissions with MMOart.

I had previously made a huge public spectacle and probably made an idiot of myself over this over and over. So i figure if i make that much fuss about the actual problem then i should at least let it be known that our business is completed now.

Jomaro and MMOart made good on their promise that they made with me sometime back and refunded my money. It actually happened back in May and that puts us even. Thought some of you might be interested to know.

It did take a long time to complete our business but in the end the man delivered what he said he would and I appreciate that.

That's so odd... I was thinking of this very topic today and was wondering what had come of it.

I noticed his DeviantArt account is closed and that his website doesn't seem to have been updated since May. I wonder if he's still selling art professionally. Shame if he isn't.

In any case, glad to hear that this was finally resolved amicably.

I honestly don't know anymore details other than the fact that our transaction had finally been resolved. When i talked to him in may he said he was still in clean up mode with the current clients. I do know he got a job drawing for comics professionally btu that he wasn't going to drop MMOart altogether.

He was very adamant that the current queue be cleared before he would continue with anything concerning MMOart. But in the end thats all i got.

He had cleared out his DA accounts sometime back. Leaving only the Deathdealer piece i posted as his only favorited art with no posted art. As far as i know he is still on twitter, myspace and facebook. You could try rolling the dice and email MMOart support and see what ya get.

Nah, was just curious more than anything. But thanks for the 411.

That really is good to know, I had thought about it more then once.

Good deal.

I honestly hope he never sells art on his own again. He needs to work for a studio, or at least have an agent to attend to the business side of things.

Bit of a thread resurrection, but I am now officialy angry with MMO Art.

I got a peice commisioned nearly 3 years ago now. I paid my deposit and finally got the artowrk finished after about a year of nagging. I got the finished image in a jpeg form only so far. I've been patient with Jamaro several times, eh even made offers of doing 2 extra peices of artwork as compensation for the delay.

After seeing the site ressurect earlier this year I was hopeful, but now the site is basically just a placeholder and the e-mail address I have for them has just bounced back so I have no way of contacting them!!

I paid half in advance for the artowrk, that's £50 (about a $100 at the time of paying it) for what is a well drawn jpeg, so yeah, not best pleased!

Has anyone else got any other way of contacting him so I can get something out of him, either the finished artowrk I was promised or some sort of refund!

How on earth this man and company can get any respect after all this is beyond me.

I don't understand. You say that you finally for the finished piece of artwork after a year of nagging and then say he owes you art for something else? Is that a different piece?

I am not really one to talk to about the best way to get a hold of MMOart or Jomaro Kindred. I am also not one that would defend them or him at all in this matter because i went through the same thing though with me it was just over 3 years.

I'd say try facebook, myspace, twitter, email the mmoart support, the mmoart service email, whatever and where ever you can find them at, just spam the heck out of em until you get an answer.

Really nothing else i can offer in advice but best of luck to you. I know your frustration trust me.

No, my order was for a printed peice of artwork. I got a jpeg of the finished artwork, but not the printed version. In fact, I'm still waiting to pay the other half of the payment for it, despite having asked several times for a way to pay it and an invoice. That's when Jamaro offered me some extra artwork as compensation.

All I've ever had is a finished jpeg, never had a final printed version to go on my wall. That's all I'm after but I've got no way to contact him. I'll check Facebook, never knew MMO Art was on there, thanks for the tip.

Edit: Ok, found the group on Facebook, no updates on there for months now, so not holding out much hope. And to add insult to injusy, my pic is the very first one on the gallery there!!

Aaah i see. So you just need to find a way to pay him the rest of the money and get the printed version of your piece?

Oh wait a sec. I still need to get my printed art too. Hmm i guess i just let it go after all the fuss lol. Bah i really don't care anymore honestly.

Sorry about the dilema Coin, good luck with this though, i know your pain...

Would you happen to know the size of the jpeg? Or what dpi it is? You can usually get a decent print if the file is over 200 dpi, 300 would be better...

That is what i figured i would just do instead of going through all that crap again. Though the Deathdealer piece was supposed to be printed up on canvas 20 X 30 inches.

Yeah, at this point I think it may be better for both of you if you were to just take that money owed and print it yourself. If they're not getting back to you, and the website is down (basically just a splash page), then I'd head to the print shop myself.

Sadly, it's not big enough, 650 x 1021 pixels and only 96 dpi.

Guess I'll just have to keep nagging.

Right click the image --> Properties --> Summary --> Advanced --> Hr and Vr should say the dpi.

I just printed off one of my own pieces - near poster size, and it turned out great.
1500x2100
96dpi

You could give it a try.

Do any of you have a way to get in touch with these guys? I've not gotten a response back from my emails.

I requested a refund back in June and provided the necessary information and someone on the CO boards reminded me to go check. Six months later I still have not received a refund.
