She said yes...
Consider me tentatively RSVPd in the positive. I need an excuse to use thie Wedding Pack stuff I bought a while back
Congratulations
It's been a long time since there has been an in-game wedding on Triumph. I remember running the AE mission where Turbo Starr was out saving Jade from his nemesis... was a fun story.
Sounds like a lot of fun! Like Obsidious says, it will be fun to dust off the emotes and costume pieces from the Wedding pack.
Finally - it's about time!

basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.
Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

It's funny how life can change in a heartbeat, and we along with it.
When Michael (you all know him as Turbo Starr, I call him Michael) asked me to dinner, I had no idea that this evening was anything beyond our usual "date".
I met Michael over five years ago, not long after the end of the first Rikti war. I remember the day very well. I had just started my residency here at Paragon General Hospital. Michael had brought in several wounded heroes for treatment. Of course, his handsome looks caught my eye right away, yet it was his dedication and sense of self-sacrifice in helping to fight the Rikti that drew me to him. I guess you could say I loved him since the moment I met him. He was, and always has been, an inspiration to me. Were it not for Michael, I would never have become a hero. When he asked me to join Riders of Apocalypse with him, I just couldn't say no. Putting on the cape and tights and helping to save the world alongside the man I love was a dream come true for me.
But I was so young back then, and a just a little naive. We both were. It did not take long for us to realize that our relationship could get in the way of saving the world. There came a time when we had to choose between the ones we love and the fate of the world at large. One day in particular, I made that choice. Michael disagreed with my decision, and it led to our parting of ways; for a while at least. I felt betrayed. I was heartbroken and I blamed him for it. Yet in hindsight, Michael was right. Self-sacrifice is something every hero must be ready to endure for the greater good. Like I said, I was young and a little naive back then. Perhaps it was all too much too soon. Becoming the leader of Riders and a notable hero in his own right had matured Michael. He became much more serious and dedicated to serving the public. Had I known back then what I know now...
So we dated. And dated. And then dated some more. We would get together for dinner or drinks every so often. We'd laugh and talk about the usual things; crime rates, our theories of what Nemesis would try next to dominate the world, Mini Miss Foley's latest forays into the use of "colorful metaphors" (she is so much her mother's "daughter"). I was ok with "just dating", but in my heart I had always wanted more. Call me old fashioned, but I'm one of those who believe in true love. I never gave up hope.
Then he asked me to dinner and took me to my favorite restaurant. It had been a long, long time since we were there. We laughed and we talked and then laughed some more. Of course, I proved I could eat more than him yet again. He said it's my metabolism. I told him I just get plenty of exercise. Believe it or not, chasing after a certain Mini (who has a penchant for burning things and use foul language) to try and get her to clean her room takes a lot of energy. I won't even go into the messes that Shard's pet monkey makes (and I mean everywhere!)
I have to say Michael was very clever... I had no inkling what he was up to throughout dinner. Even when he ordered my favorite dessert, I really had no clue. Then again, I'm always distracted by that handsome smile of his.
I'm embarrassed to say I chowed down on that hot apple crisp topped with vanilla ice cream like it was going out of style... I'm amazed that in my total "oink" moment I didn't eat the ring!
Yet there it was and when I saw it, I froze for a moment, my jaw open. Then, when I looked up at him, he had gotten up from his chair and was on one knee beside me. I was so excited I literally screamed with joy. I don't think anyone actually heard him ask "will you marry me?" over my screaming.
I said yes and started the tears of joy. People in the restaurant were cheering and clapping. I hugged him so tight I don't know how he could breathe. It was the best night of my life and it is my dream come true!
We will decide on a date soon and as Michael said, we hope all of Triumph will come celebrate with us.

Congrats!!! Most Awesomeness I remember when I proposed to my wife, we have yet to marry two of our toons here in CoX.
But this sounds wonderful for both of you I will be there! With the wife!!!
Ooh, congratulations!
And just in time to use the new Walk power too - no need to sprint to the altar now
By the way, are wedidngs always held in Pocket D? I know it's like the main social spot, but it doesn't seem very wedding-ish
City Hall has too much disruption form normal zone activity, otherwise it'd be a very good venue.

Mags and mine was in Founders, the opposite side of the Fountain from Numina, this seems to be a popular spot from what I have seen of weddings in game.

Ok, just to clarify for everyone... Turbo and I aren't getting married for real lol. This is just an in-game thing we are doing because;
- It's always been part of Jade and Turbo's character bios to love each other.
- Turbo has been bugging me for like 3 years now to help him with something in-game, and in order for me to agree, this was one of the demands I came up with (albeit the second most important in my list - and one I originally didn't think he would agree to and hence, stop bugging me lol).
- We've been playing for 5+ years and (at least I am) not rolling many new toons*.
- We've done too many "Master of" TF runs with Turbo that end in phail.
- While it remains something of an enigma, Foley is somehow to blame, along with Sun. Shocker too.
- It's a good way to have fun with the new Walk power.
- Lastly, and most importantly, we as the Triumph community so rarely do anything together anymore. It's been a long time since the last SG Faires, in-game weddings or server wide events. We're trying to work up something fun for everyone. While there is "CoX" lore, we are all part of "Triumph" lore.
* Notes:
* While I swore that my poopy EMP would be my last Defender, I must admit that I'm having a lot of fun playing Mini Emerald Fusion. He's a fun combo (Rad/Energy) and when he uses the /e pushup emote to hump glowies in missions, I just crack up. I'm also working on the ultimate Mini creation (one guess what it is). Wait until you see the emotes on this one lol

Sun and I have decided to elope the day before your wedding!
P.S. We have the same wedding colors as you.
Ok Cath! Will you be our Best Man and Maid of Honor?
We are going to get married under one of the rockets in Warburg, and just as we kiss, we will fire the rocket off to symbolize our own rockets that will be firing later that night.
The other night, I took Jade out for dinner at her favorite restaurant in Founders Falls. We shared some laughs and good wine that helped lighten the mood. I must admit that I was nervous the whole time. The waiter kept looking at me for the slightest of nod or a queue to follow through with our plan, but I had to look away as my heart was pounding with every glare. My hands were sweating and shaking like the time we captured Lord Recluse only to find out that he later escaped the Brickstown prison.
But I knew that Jade was the one and that I wanted to be with her forever. We have been dating for 5 years now and I have come to want no other. Her smile relinquishes my fears and her laugh is like a magician spell that can numb any mans joints. I felt that it was at that moment that I was ready!
Finally I caught the waiters attention and he rushed to bring out a hot apple crisp topped with vanilla ice cream. That was what she ate when we first meet. I find Jade to eat like an offensive linemen. I mean she can eat...and eats a lot. I consider myself as having a high metabolism, but she just blows me away when it comes to chow time. One time we were kicked out of an all you can eat buffet when she made her way in the kitchens refrigerator.
Inside the crisp was a ring waiting for her to uncover. I was afraid that she would eat the ring, so I was watching her with careful eyes. The anticipation was killing me. I couldn't believe that this was actually going to happen. She was going to be my wife. Truly amazing!
Finally, she stumbled upon the ring covered in vanilla and hot oats. She screamed. And boy, do I mean screamed! The people around us started to stand and clap as we hugged and kissed right on the spot. The rest of the night is history as we went back to my place and enjoyed each others company.
I wanted to share this with you because Jade an I will be holding a public wedding and we would love to have Triumph be there. A date is still in the works, but Jade will be posting her to give the information rather soon. I hope you all can attend!
