Each server had its own unique flavor, and great players who always gave me a reason to log in.
Freedom had a side of the game I didn't know existed. I always have been REALLY bad with numbers. Math has always given me issues. But, when I made my move from Protector to Freedom, and made friends with numbers crunchers, perfectionists, and 'speed tfs' I really wanted to learn how to keep up with them. Through many attempts, failures, and a lot of patient instruction, I learned how to use mid's, which later helped me get through a college course. And made me a better player.

Always loved Freedom. Freedom became my home for the majority of my CoH Life. And I could always count on a full tf or trial (on most occasions) at any hour of the day.

  3. So long as the titan network remains, in some fashion, and I can see what's happening (because the forums will shut down eventually) I'm in for whatever it takes to keep this afloat. Be it stand-alone costume and base editors, or the entire game itself.
  4. At least, in the credits, a goodbye with global names who've requested to be mentioned, or something along those lines....

    Can't think...Too upset.

**Included Elvnsword09's quote because several of our toons are involved in storyline together.**

    Global Name: @Obsidian Light

    Server: Exalted/Virtue/Freedom (in that order)

    City of Heroes/City of Villains

    RP Characters:
Obsidian Aequitas (H) ((Wife of Liberties, Non-PvP Bounty Hunter)) - Exalted Server,
Eva Ohfor (H) ((Same as Obsidian Aequitas)) - Virtue Server,
Unconstrained Truth (H) ((Daughter of Liberties and Obsidian Aequitas, Accelerated aging child. She has the knowledge/skills/personality of a young teen, but is only about 7 years old.)) - Exalted and Virtue,
Voltage Rogue (H) ((Super Intelligence (Like Dr. Aeon) time traveller. A litty batty, but completely reliable towards allies.)) - Exalted
Lacey A. Wolfwood (H) - ((Same as Voltage Rogue)) - Virtue
Lady Sif (H) ((Norse Goddess.)) - Exalted

I'm sure there's more out there, and I am pretty good at rolling with the punches regardless of the toon I'm on. They each have their own little personality in my head, even if I don't RP with them very often, like my Freedom toons.

Type of RP: Casual to planned RP, would like more people to integrate into mine and Liberties' storyline.

Can be contacted: In game mail, tells, Skype, Official Forums (but I'm slow about checking the forums fyi)

Times on: Nightly, usually, from about 10pm CST, until I get tired of looking at my computer. Weekends are usually fairly open and require me waking up :-P.

    Timezone: Central Standard Time

  7. This is terrible. I didn't know Askari, personally, but my condolences to the family.

  8. I started on Protector, because my computer (at the time) couldn't handle the load of Freedom or Virtue. Got my first 50 there, and made some really great friends, though on the downside, teaming can be difficult, because it is a mostly solo-esque server, and even at peak hours (before Super Sidekick System) finding enough of one level to SK the lower levels could be difficult.

Got a new computer, and filtered my way into Freedom where eventually the bulk of my friends were (and still are), and that became my home.

On a dare, for 1 billion influence (which was a lot of money at the time, and you could outfit at least 2 toons on it), I went to Virtue, as my primary server for 1 month. This is where I met my Real Life boyfriend, and embraced my creative side with Storyline Roleplay (not that E-RP crap) and made some great friends there. And I got the billion influence for completing the dare LOL.

Then Exalted came out, and initially I made my namesake there, with every intention of getting it to 50, and having another Solo/Friends Only SG. Yeah, that didn't happen so much. My would-be solo-SG became a fully functional, new members all the time, SG, where I had to step up and actually plan things and be a leader and stuff.

In conclusion, I have 3 homes now (having forsaken Protector almost 5 years later). But I will forever, and always, find myself clicking the 'Freedom' server any time I have the chance. There's something about 15 minute ITF's at 3 a.m., and the ability to generally get any team/league formed up in a matter of minutes, regardless the time, that keeps me coming back.
  9. If this could be moved to 9pm EST, I'll love you forever. Gives me time to get off work and get home, and not miss out on the first run.

Either way, I'll show up eventually with one of 2 toons:

    Inferna Inanis Fire/Kin Controller
    or
    Obsidian Aequitas DP/MM Blaster

Where will the party take place, so I can move toons to the zone prior to the event?

Good to know! Thanks for this tidbit.
  11. I'm in dire need for Master badge runs for Lambda, Keyes (I just had to put it in, even though there's a no mf'in keyes clause), UG, and Mag.

In short, I'm down for whatever LOL. (Pending I'm not at work when these events take place of course)

    Keep us posted.

  13. So, yeah, I haven't been around much over the last couple of months. Not that I've quit, I got burned out just before the double feature dropped, and I've yet to do it. But, I'm mostly back, now.

That being said, is this like any other queued event, and it forms up mostly in pocket d, or is there enough activity in dark astoria doing it as well, or where....really?

    Thanks guys
  14. Without turning this into another 'costume design thread' I'm just gonna put out an old thread I started some time ago, and the dire need for Tights Sleek Skirt options:

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=283423

There's a large screenshot pic attached to the first post of the thread. Fair warning.

On a side note, I'd like to see emblems that can be positioned further down on the body, and aren't sitting directly on top of the chest.

    Example:

In all honesty, the idea of more burlesque female costume options, like Silk Spectre I from Watchmen would be pretty sweet...But I'm not sure if that's more retro than Golden Age...

    Silk Spectre I:

  15. Oooo OOOOOOO!!! I wanna come play turgie!!!
  16. Has there been any confirmation of being able to use threads/astrals/emps as the Hybrid Incarnate XP, as opposed to fighting Magistarium(sp? cause i'm lazy and don't want to look up the proper spelling atm) multiple times?

It's not that I don't want to do Mag, because I totally do, I just have more than enough of every incarnate salvage and specials (astrals/emps) to buy my way into Hybrid (theroetically). Or, at least x-fer the funds from one toon to another lol.
  17. There are quite a few European players on Freedom, and I know of several that play on Exalted as well in the US a.m. times.

If either of those servers are of interest to you, I can PM you the global names of a few people who are around during Aussie peak times.

This is how it ended up looking, though i'm not completely sold on the giant heads as a underpass. Still toying with several decorative ideas, but when you walk across the bridge, the slow field effect moves beneath your feet, and it is pretty neat looking (and it doesn't run into my staircase :-D)
  19. After a little sleep, and reevaluation, I managed to figure it out. It took making the room a bit bigger (longer really) but it ended up putting rooms on the edge of the grid, which is awesome in my book lol.

thanks for taking a look peoples

    happy hunting!
  20. Alright, have a little problem I just ran into, after having this 'brilliant' idea.

The Room is a Security Corridor, made small on purpose, because it's nothing more than a small pathway to a much larger room.

I've laid down 2 slow fields, wanting to make the room appear to look something like the Bifrost or an otherwise mythological bridge that leads to the world of our more 'godly' heroes.

Initially, I had thought to make the bridge relatively small in size (just big enough for a toon to move down the pathway, while making it rather obvious that the slow field effect isn't 'supposed' to be walked on, when I ran into this problem....

The slow field runs directly into the staircase (or any other step I would lay down), and therefore looks pretty stupid, in my opinion, taking away the values of walking into a separate dimension, if you will.

Any ideas on how to get around this little issue?

Changing room sizes is not out of the question either, I just want to keep the room size fairly small, and 1sq. narrow, so 2x2 and up is out of the question for the concept of the area.

    Thanks guys

Get the room in 'Move Room' control, and right click the room and it'll rotate it for you to reset it properly.

Edit: and if you still can't set the room right, make sure there's nothing on the walls or interfering with the doorway, otherwise the door you originally built won't line up with the doorway connecting to another room. A desk serving as a floor, lined up with the very edge of the doorway opening will interfere with reconnection.
  22. By saying 'generic io' are you asking for a build that is Single Origin Enhancements (SO) or crafted Invention Origin (non-set Recipes)?

Considering that you've stated you're not VIP, the account status of your friend is going to be just as important, because non-vip's can't use certain IO's.
  23. I'm sure that was embedded in the patch notes for a mid's update forever ago, but I'm terrible at reading those. Glad someone else does...I would've never thought of it, LOL.

Now to redo like 500 builds >.<
  24. This question would probably be better served on the Freedom section of the forums, but in answer to your question Mother Ship Raids, in my 4 year experience on Freedom, have always been sort of sporadic.

A year or so ago, myself, and a few others ran Mothership Raids/Cathedral of Pain back to back every Wednesday night.

To go a bit further, all it takes is 1 person broadcasting in the busiest zones, and normally you'll have 3 teams worth of people to at least take down pylons, and by the end of the raid there's around 4-5 teams worth of people who've filtered in by the time you get through the pylons.

You can also use channels to gather a few friends together to start things off, have 1 or 2 of them go around the different zones (red and blue) and run a broadcast that a MSR is being formed. Again, formation at peak hours (7pm cst - around midnight) is fairly easy, even on weekdays.

I wish you luck in finding your Mothership Raids. And if you've got one forming up, you're always welcome to send me a tell and if I'm on, I'll be more than happy to come join .

    Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
