Server Question - Justice for Aussies?

Hey everyone,

I'm very new to this game and community, and as such can't post this over in the appropriate forum. Before creating my first character I'd just like to know which server is best for Australian and Oceanic players? I've read in other threads that Justice has the highest Australian population out of all the servers, however these threads were quite old - all over a year old, at least. Is this still correct? Does Justice still hold the highest Australian/Oceanic population?

As far as I know all the servers of this game are now co-located in the same time zone here in the US so there's really no one better server than any other as far as maintenance times or that kind of thing.

Having said that I do believe the Justice server is still considered the "unofficial" Oceanic server. People seemed to be talking about it as such in recent posts in the Oceanic section of the forums.

There are quite a few European players on Freedom, and I know of several that play on Exalted as well in the US a.m. times.

If either of those servers are of interest to you, I can PM you the global names of a few people who are around during Aussie peak times.

Justice is for sure the go to server for Aussies. You should also join the Australia global channel as that is where a lot of coordination of teams happens. Welcome to the game Shadow and look me up on Justice if ya need a hand. @chieftain2 is my global.

I wouldn't call maintenence prime time playing hours. I generally think prime time is between the hours of 5 - 9, but that is just me. Depending on DST, the servers come down for Aussies anytime between 9 - 11pm.

Yes, Justice is the unofficial Aussie server but it's still harder to find new friends there. I play on Freedom Hero side and it's very active most of the time (just ignore the negative comments and spammers and farmers). Stick around Ms. Liberty and try to get on a few DfB ( Death From Below) Teams and go from there.

Are you interested in teaming with other Aussies, or just teaming during typical aussie times?

I am an Aussie, and I find Virtue much more team pickup easy than Justice. I meet plenty of other aussies there, though often a time check in a group will have 6 different time zones.

Be aware that the Australia channel, though a global channel, is really only used by Justice server people, (and other servers will often get slammed on it) and that it's not restricted to Aussies only. The other channels Texas mentions are important for easy teaming.

The Australia channel has a pretty constant core group that will be welcoming, and nearly always running something (on Justice) every prime time.

I suggest making a few characters on different servers, montoring the different global channels and seeing which suits you best.

ALso, I should check you know what global channels are? As they get used for a lot of teaming and social needs.

I'll second Texas. Justice is still the 'unofficial' Aussie server, for, what that's worth. Still a fairly strong Aussie presence, and, probably most importantly, some pretty decent action during Oceanic Prime hours.

That said, the channels already mentioned are really important.

And, to further muddy the waters, I'lll also agree with tanst, that Virtue is also a solid choice during those hours. Slightly different feel there, but both are quite welcoming. If you can, I might suggest you try an alt on both. And go where the action is that night for a while, and then use newer slots on the server you find has the feel you like best or just continue to split time.

Of course, if you're limited on global slots there is some disadvantages to that advice, I'll readily admit.

I have my largest number slots on Justice, and my 2nd highest number on Virtue, and haven't regretted investing in either server.
