use -maxfps 25 too, to keep the active window from trying to render more than 25 FPS, you won't notice a difference from a visual/effects stand point, and it'll save a TON of power.
before I built this machine I even used -maxfps 20 and didn't notice any "lag" or "slow down" in effects -

Sonic attacks light it as well, being smashing/energy damage
[/ QUOTE ] Sonic is not an origin.
I assume the OP was asking so they could make sure they have a quick power to ignite it regardless what other sets they may pick... simply by selecting the right origin temp power.
If we wanted to list every power that can set it off.. we'd be here for a long time. lol

well no [censored] it's not an origin..
others were discussing other abilities that sparked it, i mentioned sonic.

Way to completely overreact.
Mateo was on-topic and you were not. Feel free to respond with another hissy fit though.

Wasn't a hissy fit or over reaction. I just don't like being singled out, especially when I was on topic with other threads in the discussion.
I was responding to these posts.

from what i know, it has to be a fire based attack to light oil slick on fire.

Nope, Electric and Energy attacks work as well.

and

More specifically, it's anything that does fire or energy damage (which is what electrical attacks do). Which means that even things like radiation attacks will light one up.

This game is VERY different from the "must-have must-do" style of WoW.
......
The game starts being fun at level 1, (or actually, before, in the character creator) and continues being fun for as long as you're not bored to tears by it.
You don't HAVE to have every cool drop, though there are some nice things in the game to get.
...........
you don't have to have a "perfect team" to do anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I always felt that these attitudes were created more by the players. I've run many dungeons in WoW without a "perfect team", for example, and pulled it off just fine.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, during my time in Everquest/Everquest Online Adventures and WoW, we ran many "All **Insert class/archetype here* dungeons and raids on a regular basis.
for example, in EQOA we would regularly take out Lady Vox(before they raised the level cap so a single necromancer could solo her while AFK...) with a team of Necromancers and Wizards.
it's mostly player skill that makes that possible, and it's not quite as easy as it is here in CoX to do those types of events, but they weren't exactly super hard to pull off either. -

I've found Vista works best if you don't install it.

And I've found that, since the service packs, it works better than XP.

My Super Group is working our way up through the ranks, we don't exactly care, but I do check from time to time when I'm there to pay rent or something.

as a matter of fact, on your Game Account Details page for City of Heroes at PlayNC.com it gives you the last block of numbers for the codes you have applied in this format:
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-5CQU
that should be enough info to determine which you've used and which you haven't. -

It wont work with CohUpdater.exe
(Running the updater kinda defeats the purpose of skipping the updater. lol)

Farming is extremely boring, yes, but did we really need another post about it?
there's an official farming discussion thread

The one exception to this is the Eden Task Force. There's a bug in it so that if the leader isn't 39-41, the TF won't start.
[/ QUOTE ] I thought they fixed that a long time ago.

the one I ran last week had to be started by the level 40 we had on the team, none of the 50s could start it -

It would appear, you're not the only one having this issue
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...umber=13593008
also seems to be having the same issue. -
reverse the order, if i remember correctly, the game reads binds/macros from right to left, not left to right.
so /bind key "cce 1 ccspin$$emote none"
should, in theory, work -
Elite Boss*
If an arc or mission is supposed to have an Arch-Villain in it, they downgrade to the easier, more solo friendly, yet still challenging Elite Boss.
There are many ways to easily deal with Elite Bosses while solo depending on your archetype, bring a shivan, pop a few purples and carry greens. -

Not even two weeks ago I managed to take a level 15 rad/sonic defender into BB solo, get every meteor, and take out the hardest firebase I could find one turret at a time with zero help. it's not anywhere near impossible, or even close to difficult. -

WASD, like everyone else, is my movement stuff, however I actually use the strafe buttons. Most people seem to bind over those, and it drives me nuts. How can you live without strafing?!
[/ QUOTE ]I re-bound A and D to strafing. I use the mouse to turn the camera/character, so I don't need turning bound. Q and E get rebound for useful things, depending on the character.

I'm the same way, except I use Q and E along with the mouse for super fast camera turns -

It was a very welcome change because Warshades have powers which depends on defeated foes. Fighting Arachnos with lots of Drones and Tarantulas before the change was as bad as fighting CoT with mostly Spectrals spawning.
[/ QUOTE ]
The funny thing is, sometimes an exploded enemy is still usable for Stygian Circle/Unchain Essence/Dark Extraction, even if there's no "body." Try using your "targetcustomnext enemy defeated" bind/macro, you might find that you can target thin air where the enemy was and use it for those powers. I agree about Spectrals though. And Gordon Bower's defeat-all-ghosts missions would be unbearable on a Warshade if not for the ghosts' weakness to negative energy.
[/ QUOTE ]
The same principle works for players using the Self Destruct power and Howling Twilight.

**coughs**
Edit: the video seen here has nothing to do with the OP or the post I'm replying to. I just like to put it up whenever someone mentions Self Destruction and a rez of any kind... -

Yeah, I know I miss the Hamidon Dance Party we used to have on Jusice... I'd kill to get that back

As mentioned, it'd take more than getting the phase timer removed. Current Hami would be quite pleased for you to perma phase in range of his attacks, as you could not attack him, but he could attack you freely.

doesn't mean I don't miss the dance parties... -
