Decisions....decisions...

Once upon a Time there was a noob. And he was rather noobish. He was also friends with Myrm in RL. (waits for the sounds of anguish to die down) I know....I know....

So, anyway, he rushed to set up his account on the forums because it was double XP weekend and he was eager to get into the game and level up his first Character - A electric/electric blaster named Boltress.

So eager, in fact, that he failed to read the little message which tells you the name you pick for your Forum ID is stuck with you forever and ever and ever and ever.....until you die...and someone else opens up your account 85 trillion years later....and you will still have the same ID, only this time you are dead.

SO...flash forward to 2011. Myrm convinces said noob to reopen his COH account and start playing again.

Now our friend, the noob, is having a decent time and enjoying talking to new and old friends and generally destroying virtual bad guys with the arsenal of weaponry COH has placed in his hands.

However, if he is to decide to vegetate with the other denizens of Champion server on the game forums, he must do so with the name:

Boltress.

Even though everyone in game knows him as:

Oathborne.

(sigh)

T'is a cruel virtual world we live in.

Well, I'd just like to say that I appreciate the OP making me aware of these places where I can contribute and make a difference.

I'd also like to say that to anyone who frequents this place and is in our armed services:

Thank you more than my heart can convey. Everyday, when I look at my kids, I am reminded that they live in a place where they are as safe as they can be from the people in the world who would like to see them blow to pieces if from no other reason other than the fact that they are Americans.

You are doing what has been asked of you and sacrificing a bit of your own personal freedom so that my family has theirs. And for that I am eternally grateful.

You are also doing something that I envy. You are sword and shield of our country and you have the respect of most of our Nation. It is a shame that that sentence does have to include the word, "most." Not that I think War is glamorous, I am a history buff and I've read and seen more than my fair share of personal accounts of war, I think I'm mature enough to understand that war is nothing like the movies or video games we see. War is a horrible place that only an unfortunate few of us must visit and an even more fortunate few of us return from.

That being said, I do my best to understand why it is that we fight and to remember that there are human beings in harms way...who elected to go there. That makes you Heroes. I also do my best to make my kids understand that while there may be "bad" people everywhere, anyone in the uniform of our Armed Services should always be viewed as "One of the Good Guys" unless his actions prove otherwise.

I am of the personal opinion that if you were allow to do your jobs and given the materials you have asked for to complete your jobs, this conflict would have been over with a long time ago. I know, from personal experience, the quality of the men and women in our military. And I know there is no task that you could not complete...if we would only let you.

It is my favorite quote, "Courage is not the absence of fear, it's acting in spite of it."

Ok, I searched a few times using several different keywords and I didn't find anything linked to this idea.

I was wondering how possible the idea of having a group transport would be?

To point to a real world reference, like the VTOL the X-men use.

I thought perhaps the following ideas could be applied:


A SuperGroup Transport would be available to members of the SG once the SG gets to a certain amount of prestige or it could be available to the SG members at the creation of the SG however limited to level (etc.).

The Transport could be of different body types. VTOL jet. Chanook Helicopter. Anti-Grav Vehicle.

The SGT can be parked on a specific part of the map and used as a mobile base. Medical bay, research and developement, storage.

Major use for the SGT would be to park near a mission zone and you can rez at the medical bay instead of going back to the hospital or the land base. (Of course you would still accrue debt as normal)

Perhaps the SGT could be used to zone the whole team at once from one zone to the next almost like a team TP.

Restrictions on the SGT.
- Teams comprised of the same SG members have use of the SGT. Mixed teams do not.

- (not sure about this one) The SGT may not be used on a TF.

- the SGT has a monthly upkeep just like the base. It must be maintained.

Thats the basic idea right now. I'll add more. Please make any and all comments you can.

Well, being a newb. I like the fact that I can now run with all my RL friend who have been playing this game since it's inception without having to ask them to play lower level Characters to accomidate me.

Still here. Just getting started.
