  1. Fire/rad controlling is amazing, I prefer it to Ill/rad.
  2. I personally really like Chocking Cloud on my controllers, but not on Corruptions. You really need to stack to make it effective.

EM Pulse I just don't care for. Honestly, it doesn't even matter the AT, I just don't care for it.
  3. As soon as i16 came out I made a Kin/AR, I already had ade the costume so I had been waiting a bit for it :P

I love it, while I'm no blaster, I do feel that I contribute good damage and have an amazing solo capability. Even when a buddy took me to PI for some levels, I still felt like I contributed, although not on par with a 50 obviously.

So far my kinetic powers are all the typical. AR I'm focused on AoE, which is the only downside of the build, not many attacks until late. He has Leadership Maneuvers/Assault/Tactics, Fitness for Stamina- which I really don't even need, and Fighting for a bit extra defense.

It surely isn't the most optimized, but it is a lot of fun!
  4. Hotfeet, Chocking Cloud, and World of Confusion makes for some fun times. I wouldn't count on it just for damage, however. It's a bit to random from my experience.

    Solo scrapper

So of Regeneration and Willpower both solo fine?

    Awesome, thanks!

    Solo scrapper

I left CoH just after i3, I returned about a week and a half prior to i16. With that said, a lot has changed.

I wanted to make a character and basically see everything I have missed, which is an absurd amount. I figure I will be soloing missions almost exclusively, with a few groups here and there. I thought a scrapper would be good for this.

I am interested in Dual Blades, Claws, or maybe Electric Melee. Secondary, I'm open to suggestions: I was thinking Regeneration or Willpower?

My question is, which of those primaries and secondaries tends to solo best?
  7. I made a Kin/Ar as soon as the servers were back up and have really been having fun with him. People still aren't used to seeing a defender with a mack10 which is fun, too.
  8. I would say that you can make a fun character out it.

Aside from the obvious defenses, you can have a very strong knock back control if you like. Bonfire can be amazing with some effort, and FF adds some more.

I really think any character can be powerful, just in different ways. Besides, who really says "Ugg, more damage, control, and bubbles for the team?".
  9. My vote is Illusion/radiation. I love mine for team or solo play. He was painfully boring early on, but really got fun later as you get your pets. It is amazingly safe, and a ton of fun to see how big of things you can tackle solo.

It's very strong due to you being able to make a team build with all the Mutation, Fallout and team oriented powers and then one with out them to solo.
  10. I like Ill/Storm, well anything Storm. It takes effort to make it good on a team, and most don't. As a tank, I get very annoyed very quickly when one spamming powers just because they are up. Gale, Hurricane, Tornado, and even your pets need a little discretion when teaming. By no means am I saying that I wont group with one, but I will stop taunting the ones (all?) that your screwing up.

Last night I ran with one that I swear was on auto follow with hurricane running and gale on auto fire.

My main controller is Fire/storm and largely focused around knock back, and I love it. It's just hard to put up with people who fling everything everywhere.
  11. I have recently started playing a WP/DM and am loving it. I have gotten him to 36 and he really has been a fun character. The build I have been going with so far is the following:

    Willpower: all but Resurgence.
Dark Melee: Shadow Punch, Shadow Maul, Taunt, Siphon Life, Soul Drain.
    Speed: Hasten.
    Fighting: Boxing, Tough, Weave.
    Fitness: Swift, Health, Stamina.

I plan to take Dark Consumption, Midnights Grasp, Super Speed, and Salt Crystals (possibly) for my remaining powers.

Basically, I have 3 enhancers in each power for defense/resistance.

My question is how do I want to slot everything? What sets do I want to shoot for? Is my attack chain ok; Shadow Punch, Shadow Maul, Boxing, Midnights Grasp?

This is my first tank. Thanks in advance!

    thanks.

    /Storm vrs /Ice

Also a very different play style to keep in mind. Well, assuming you don't skip what makes them different.

    Fire/Storm help

I have recently created a Fire/storm as I was getting rather bored with my Fire/thermal. I love the new one a ton more, but an finding myself at a loss on what to skip in order to get my defense up.

I assume that my ranged defense and AoE would be what I should be concerned with as things really don't get close with toggles running.

I was wondering if Combat Jumping, Tough, and Weave were all worth building in. I'm 30 currently and really don't die often, so that's at least good. Really, Cinders, Thunderclap, and Fireblast all seemed easily dropped. Cinders doesn't seem to be that large outside of my other control, Thunderclap is minion only, Hotfeet I find that I don't run much, either.

Also, as I have recently returned is there and suggestion on enhancement slotting, regarding the special sets and such?

    thanks in advance.
  14. I have recently returned from a few years off and have gotten my girlfriend to give it a shot as well. She is a blaster. While we will team as possible, we will also be partnering as much, I'm sure. As she is more casual about gaming, I wanted to be enough support to cover areas she could not- to be a learning curve so to say.

From reading about the state of the game, I left after the third month of release, I decided on Fire for the dps/control and thermal for thematic/support. My concept is a demon lord, so I will be trying to work around that, also.

    Currently, I am thinking that the following pools will be worked in;

    1) Teleport; Recall Girlfriend, Teleport.
    2) Speed; Hasten.
    3) Fitness; Swift, Health, Stamina.
    4) Undecided; I would like Presence for theme but realize that it's not the best option. Input would be helpful!

I am thinking Fire Mastery, but Earth Mastery might be ok, too. It fits the whole Fire and Brimstone thing.

Obviously I will be leveling this character, so end game builds are out of reach currently. If anyone has any suggestions on order for leveling easiest, it would be greatly appreciated.

thank you for your help in advance
  15. I have a low level Ice/rad that I have been pretty frusterated with. I just do no damage at all and with a fair group I really seem to stand around most of the time once a power of two is set up. Does this change before the late 30s?

I've been thinking of going to a different, but am undecided and hate to drop him if he will pick up. Maybe I should have gone with a more aggressive set for my taste.

    I do love Ice, however.
