Glancing over that the most obvious change I'd make would be to swap Maneuvers out for Combat Jumping. You'll still be softcapped but you wont use near as much end/sec for your toggles.
Edit: Swap the ToD in Smite and the Mako's in SL to hit the recharge requirements. Also you desperately need the Miracle unique in there. DM's top shelf attack chain will be using around 4 end/sec with your adjusted slotting.
Edit #2: Here is a build that works. Cost does go up a good bit due to the 3% pvp defense IO but getting that allows you a bit more freedom to slot your attacks better, in particular SL. Resists are a good bit higher. Hitpoints, regeneration, endurance, and end recovery are also a bit higher. SL is slotted for max heal and max damage so you'll survive a lot longer.
Empty slot in True Grit is for the pvp defense IO.

I have no problems at all holding aggro on a full cap of mobs with my Fire/SD. FSC + Shield Charge to start the fight and everything is glued to me until it dies. Add in another FSC every 6 seconds and I don't even really need any taunt power though it would be nice to have one just to be able to more quickly react to adds coming in.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I'm getting a bit lost between recharge times and animation times, but I'm trying to see if this has enough recharge to do the incinerate - cremate - GFS chain.
[/ QUOTE ]
Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate needs 237% recharge in GFS. You currently have 173.75% while Hasten is running. -
It's possible yes but I'd rather aim for about 35% defense and end up with a build that is much more usable in every day situations. Better recovery, better regeneration, more max hp, a better attack chain; these are all things you sacrifice to get softcapped to all on a WP.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Also, Let's say I tried for /WP instead of /SD. Does anyone know off hand how much of a damage bonus AAO gives scrappers? And is it possible to cap Melee defense for /WP?
[/ QUOTE ]
BillZ calculated 190 dps for Fire/ running Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate. Fully saturated AAO knocks my DPS up to 260ish. Mind you I do have a few set +damage bonuses as well so not all of that increase is due to AAO but the large majority is. For /WP you want to aim at the typed defenses instead of positional and it will be hard if not impossible to softcap them all without gimping your build a lot. -
[ QUOTE ]
because the def enh values have a direct effect on your DDR ... i'm assumeing cyto's would do the same ... what i'm wondering is if enzy's would yield a larger return ... anyone know off-hand?
[/ QUOTE ]
Possibly but then you'd be losing out on the recharge which is sort of the main reason you'd want to slot membranes.
As for a money is no object build, I'd go with something like this. Empty slot in True Grit is for the pvp 3% defense IO which puts you at 45.2% to all. Attack chain is Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate while Hasten is up. If it does drop in combat just toss a Fire Sword on the end of that for a few chains until its recharged again. Incinerate and Cremate are frankenslotted a bit to pack more endurance reduction in. This build was basically something I threw together to see if I could get attack chain EPS low enough to drop CP and still be fine. It's almost low enough but that's not including Active Defense, Hasten, or Build Up so you'll still probably want it. Note that I did the calculations assuming I had the Atlas Medallion and Portal Jockey boosting my max endurance.

You'll want to pick up Conserve Power as your level 44 pick. The last 2 slots are personal preference really although I'd probably pick Grant Cover as one of them to give you some more defense debuff resistance.

You don't have enough recharge in either of those to run Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate -> FS which I assume your shooting for.
What you need:
Incinerate needs 72% recharge in it
GFS needs 133% recharge in it
Cremate needs 34% recharge in it
FS needs 0% recharge in it.
Right now you have:
Incinerate has 68%
GFS has 88%
Cremate has 88%
FS has 71%
This is using the second build you posted by the way. -
[ QUOTE ]
i want nothing to do with tough weave in this build yes I know it is a sacrifice I have chosen to be different
[/ QUOTE ]
You will be very different but that's not a sacrifice I'd make. For one thing your S/L resists will be terrible (11-12%) and to cover the defense loss from not taking weave you'd probably end up needing either Maneuvers, which is even more of a strain on your endurance, or the pvp 3% defense IO which is hugely expensive on a secondary set that already needs to spend a lot to reach the top levels of performance that it's capable of. -
This is one of my older builds that contains aid self. Defense is slightly under softcap for aoe (44.6%). Has enough recharge to run Incinerate -> GFS -> Cremate -> FS. Only uses one purple set so it isn't too expensive either.

Incinerate > GFS > Cremate is the best but only slightly and it needs a lot of recharge to run gapless. Incinerate > GFS > Cremate > FS is only ~5% worse but only needs 1/3 the global recharge.
-
That's an easy choice to make. Drop Focused Accuracy since you don't really have the recovery to run it anyways. Put 1 LotG 7.5% recharge in the innate slot. You'll still come out ahead on defense and you'll have 5 slots to put wherever you want.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I was actually at work making my own Fire/SD build and now I came across this thread. The build I came up with has 47% melee, 44.3% range, and 44.9 AoE def, and shies away from maneuvers. One thing I've noticed though is that I don't take Phalanx Fighting which it seems most do with their builds. I may work it into my build eventually, it just doesn't benefit my soloing enough to merit taking it. For teaming thats different.
[/ QUOTE ]
Phalanx Fighting gives you 3.75% defense all the time with no allies in range for no endurance cost. It's useful even without others around you to boost its effectiveness. -
Pvp +3% def IO leaves you at 46.31% melee, 45.47% ranged, 44.84% aoe. I'd recommend the res/end Gladiator's Armor instead of res/rech because Tough is a bit costly. The Aegis slotted there reflects the end cost and resistance boosts you'll see with the Gladiators' Armor in place.

I don't have Mids in front of me atm but I do see a couple things you can change. First, don't 6 slot stamina. Second, put one of those saved slots on health for the miracle +recovery unique. Third, use the hecatomb damage proc instead of the pure damage io.
-
I've got a question about portal jockey as well. Do the AV's required have to be killed in a Tina Macintyre or Maria Jenkins mission or could I make an AE arc with all of them and have the kills count that way?
-
Yes I'm going to respec to this once I hit 50. I'm just throwing stuff where I need it at the time while leveling.
I had considered Maneuvers but ended up choosing Combat Jumping to keep endurance toggle costs down since the attack chain I've built this for is 4 EPS. I don't know though, I may go with Maneuvers anyways. This is still a work in progress after all. -
Is there a way to get more defense without sacrificing any global recharge? I couldn't think of any. Empty slot in HPT is for the pvp +3% def IO.
