You know when you have writer's block? Well I have build block right now and I cannot seem to come up with anything better. I'm trying to get my AoE defense higher, as well as my recharge. In True Grit there will be a full set of Panacea and in Tough there will be Gladiator's Armor: Resistance/Recharge and +Defense.

I don't have Mids in front of me atm but I do see a couple things you can change. First, don't 6 slot stamina. Second, put one of those saved slots on health for the miracle +recovery unique. Third, use the hecatomb damage proc instead of the pure damage io.

It is ok to 6 slot stamina if it is giving you 3.13% AoE defense, that is why he as it.

Pvp +3% def IO leaves you at 46.31% melee, 45.47% ranged, 44.84% aoe. I'd recommend the res/end Gladiator's Armor instead of res/rech because Tough is a bit costly. The Aegis slotted there reflects the end cost and resistance boosts you'll see with the Gladiators' Armor in place.

I was actually at work making my own Fire/SD build and now I came across this thread. The build I came up with has 47% melee, 44.3% range, and 44.9 AoE def, and shies away from maneuvers. One thing I've noticed though is that I don't take Phalanx Fighting which it seems most do with their builds. I may work it into my build eventually, it just doesn't benefit my soloing enough to merit taking it. For teaming thats different. Here's the build...

Phalanx Fighting gives you 3.75% defense all the time with no allies in range for no endurance cost. It's useful even without others around you to boost its effectiveness.

Ahh didn't realize it gave a bonus without allies. Thanks, now to figure out what to drop.

That's an easy choice to make. Drop Focused Accuracy since you don't really have the recovery to run it anyways. Put 1 LotG 7.5% recharge in the innate slot. You'll still come out ahead on defense and you'll have 5 slots to put wherever you want.

Here is what I run with currently.
Originally had Exploding Shuriken but since I mostly solo farm 52's, the mitigation from ET helps as well as the use of CP.
When on teams, this build pretty much blankets my screen with "You have defeated blahblahblah"...
Now I'm not as rich as some of you guys with all your PvP IO's, but I can manage...

Pvp +3% def IO leaves you at 46.31% melee, 45.47% ranged, 44.84% aoe. I'd recommend the res/end Gladiator's Armor instead of res/rech because Tough is a bit costly. The Aegis slotted there reflects the end cost and resistance boosts you'll see with the Gladiators' Armor in place.

Oops I'm meant the resistance/endurance gladiator's armor, also I'm not sure if I should slot the Panacea set into Health or True Grit.

Dark/Shield Build Thread

By coincidence I'd just been playing with a Fire/Shield in Mids before coming here, anyway, Below is what I had.

It's not a cheap build, and will need the Gladiator unique to hit the softcap, but includes Aid Self and should be able to seemlessly chain GFS-Inc-Crem-FS.
(and as an added bonus, with AAO saturated, should approach 300DPS, which is insane)
Also has slightly more Endurance to work with, but is definitely going to rely on Conserve Power, anyway, offering it up for comparison, hopefully you'll be able to steal from it liberally,
