How about Dark Regen from Dark Armor? Seems like it would proc off each enemy hit which, coupled with the Theft of Essence +end proc would mean magical things.

I 4 slotted my toggles for the EndDrain which is currently reading 0.89/s. However, I'll see if I can remove a couple slots and throw them into CP.
[/ QUOTE ]
One thing about end drain that you may not catch at first glance, but the /Shield defense toggles are slotted with LotG +rch/def, Def/end, and defense because their end drains are relatively small by default while their defense boosts are large compared to Weave whose end drain is large and defense boost small. So Weave is slotted with LotG +rch/def, Def/End, and either Def/End/Rch or End/Rch to focus more on bringing the end drain down since adding more defense really doesnt equate to much of a def gain from that power.
Also, attacks drain end far quicker than toggles, so the 4th slot for reduced end drain may not be worth it if those slots can go elsewhere like you mentioned. -
Here's my build, and what you said about Hasten being habitual for years definitely rings true for me too. Not having to worry about it on this toon, or the golden hands is refreshing however haha. You could replace Obilt, MS, or Crushing Impact with purples if you want more recharge, but I don't plan on wasting the money.

I find myself saying this alot recently, but you want Conserve Power up often and I'm not telling you not to take it, but seriously examine whether you need hasten, or whether you're taking it out of habit. Soloing AVs requires sustained DPS over minutes at a time, which requires sustained endurance, and many people overlook the latter when building for AVs. If I had to guess, MA seems like it has quick enough attacks to not need Hasten for a competent attack chain for AVs.
Also, you can't solo AVs if you can't heal yourself. Either take the Medicine Pool for Aid Self or carry greens because you will get hit, soft-capped or otherwise. -

I slotted FSC with Multistrike instead of Obliteration for endurance's sake. The full MS set nearly cuts the end cost in half, whereas the Oblit set barely cuts down on it. Since that build has hasten, you'll find that by spamming FSC whenever you can you'll run out of end very quickly. MS also offers average melee/aoe defense. Oh and it's dirt cheap.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you go this route, you lose some very nice damage, accuracy and recharge bonuses as well as dropping Melee defense below 45%.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's on a per-build basis, as mine stays above 45% for melee. You may have misunderstood me though, because I only put MS into FSC, not Shield Charge (I have Obliteration in it). Obliteration in Shield Charge makes more sense to me due to its inherent weakness being recharge time, not endurance cost. Obliteration nearly redzones the recharge, and for a power that's up every 35 seconds or so I'm not worried about its end cost (which is less than FSC's to begin with).
And yes, this is for an AV hunting build, however the beauty of Fire/Shield is that it can be both a great AV soloer AND a great farmer/AoE toon within the same build. -
A few things... Fire Sword > Scorch for DPS (according to some quick math in a recent thread I believe; I personally just prefer the sword to the hand).

I only 3 slotted the defense toggles with LotG, as opposed to your 4 slotting, however I understand that the accuracy bonus is very important to some folks.
I slotted True Grit with the entire Numina's set for the ranged bonus, then 3 slotted health with Miracle. YMMV. I also don't find the Regen Tissue unique worth a slot, but that's personal choice as well. 250% regen vs 275ish% regen is basically a wash in my eyes.
I don't have Mids' with me right now so I don't know what bonus you're chasing by slotting Steadfast in Tough, but I personally think you're overslotting it. I went with the Steadfast unique and 3 Aegis pieces personally.
And I know you saw my previous post, so you know how I feel about Hasten. Play what works for you though, personally I find it refreshing not having to worry about keeping hasten up, and moreso not worrying about end shortages. I have the Miracle +recov and Numinas, the full Performance Shifter set in Stamina, and the equivalent of 2 end SOs in each attack I believe, and I still run low on end from time to time whether it's farming the Cimerora wall or unloading on an AV. This is why I'd also advise you to free slots up to throw more recharge into CP so it's up as much as possible.
I may be missing more things but my post is growing too big for me to keep track, so hopefully I've helped. If you want me to post my build just let me know, as it achieves basically the same key set bonuses that your posted build does. -

Fun should be the whole point. Once it becomes tedious more and more teams will drop, and in the end it will all be for naught. I would consider going 2 matches per week minimum to lessen how long this will end up being. Long drawn out stuff like this is why I seldom ever did more than one off tourneys, duels or being a zonetard. If I wanted to 'work' at it I would want to get paid

I have a crush on this post. -
Unless they changed things since i12ish, it doesn't affect the damage bonuses of either.
-
I'm pretty sure he meant Power Boost would affect the -res duration of each attack, making it easier to overlap applications which would indeed make it great. If PB affects the -res duration that is, I personally don't know.
-
This tourney in general needs to move faster. I don't plan on doing this come September, so option 3 or 4 is my vote.

Here's my proposed Arch/MM Blaster build for high level PvP. If there are any glaring problems or things you'd change, please let me know. Thanks.
PS: The empty slot in Blazing Arrow is for the PvP dmg proc whose name escapes me atm.

Ah... I are dumb, no talkie no mo', hurts earballs.
-
Not sure what it is, but something's wrong with either the numbers here or the damage bonus monitor in game. I have 16% +dmg from set bonuses. Fighting Chimera earlier with just him in range, no minions whatsoever, my damage was at a constant ~35%.
I think Mids' has it listed as a 12.5% bonus fom the first mob, then 6.5% or something like that for every mob thereafter. Oddly enough, 35 - 16 = 19 which happens to = 12.5 + 6.5.
*shrug* -
You two are debating an issue that has no definitive answer and differs on a case-by-case basis, however I'd be inclined to agree with Speed as he hinted at finding a happy medium of mobs to surround yourself with to balance the damage/survivability ratio.
-
To click or not to click. That is the Regen vs WP question.
-
As has been the trend around this board for a while, this is my "I solo'd AVs for the first time! Thanks Scrapper Boards!" post. The real reason for me thanking you guys however, is that working on this scrapper, IOing him out, and exploring how powerful he can be has made me enjoy the game about as much as I did when I started playing 4 or 5 years ago. I didn't think that'd happen again to be honest. So here's my obligatory success picture and once again, thanks Scrappers.
Marauder hits like a truck, I hit like an earthquake.
Edit: I would post a screenie of my defeat of Chimera, but not only did I forget to take one, I kinda felt bad violating him so badly. Point-blank bow and arrow tactics don't seem very effective. -
How this is in anyway different than a poker night where everyone throws down money to hopefully win more than that in the end is beyond me. Maybe they hate you for sport, or maybe because its on Virtue *shrug* GL with this.
-
Let me throw in that you don't need Hasten. It'll just cost you 20 end every 2 minutes (or whatever it is), and you don't need it to keep [Incinerate - GFS - Cremate - FS] chained.
-
Idk where we're meeting, but I just parked myself in Cimerora. Heading out to eat but should be back by 9 central.
-
Sign up @Rakin for both please, although the toons are undecided. Fire/Shield, Arch/MM, or Plant/Kin.
-
That's what I would've guessed. Fine by me, thanks.

That was probably the most fun I've ever had in this game. I did get a video on the last mission, I'd put it together now, but I'm going to be gone all day today. I'll probably have it up on youtube tomorrow.
Thanks for letting me join, Luna! Great times had by all!

If Positron was the most fun you've had thus far, you've got tons more fun to look forward to lol. -
How long does this usually take by the way? Think I saw it was only 4 missions but worth 28 merits or so. I really don't care, I just think last night's Positron made me paranoid haha.
-
I've had a last minute change of heart and will be joining this on Rakin Complete my 50 Fire/Shield and not Johnny Plague (Plant/Kin troller). Judging by the numbers just posted though, it won't hurt.
