  1. Happy birthday Outlaw!

    Interesting birthdate by the way.
  2. Oh man, you're actually using my team awesome name? Hah, I just started using that as a joke.

Also, a minor correction, but I switched characters for Kronos. I was on my illusion/sonic named Imagination since Fist has the badge already. Of course, since Gel and I were a controller duo vs the other 2 dozen or so people there our team didn't do enough damage to get the badge. Fortunately, I'm not much of a badger anyway, especially not on that character, so it's no big deal.

    PW's war journal

Hmm, lets see, total numbers, unenhanced, but most of the good ones are unenhanceable anyway:

    Debuffs:
    -Damage: -120%
    -Resist: -127.5%
    -To Hit: -135%
    -Defense: -165%
-Regen: -1500% (plus another -1000% for each EM Pulse, but only for 15s each)
    -Recharge: -490%

Even with AV resists he should be well into the red for most if not all of those, and with a couple extra siphons he'll be at the -rech cap which means fewer of those cheating AOE lightning bolt nukes.

    Buffs:
    Capped damage obviously
    Essentially infinite recovery
    Oodles of +recharge
And to top it off Steamy mist gives 15% e/f/c resist unenhanced x two
Increased Density, if used, would give 18% s/l resist

Oh, and you all have pets to help soak up some of the aggro.

Gee, I can't imagine why Reichsman didn't give you any trouble.

  5. See, what'd I say, they got a taste for the marathons.

I'll be there as always, and since I lead teams on the last few runs I guess I could do so again.

    Are They Nuts???

A hunt for defeat badges has also been suggested. Though if we get multiple teams as we usually do we'll have to decide the best way to go about that. Splitting up to hunt different things may be the way to go to avoid stepping on each others toes.
  7. I would like sonic for MMs, for the same reason as someone else listed above. Except mine would be a spoiled diva, probably a teen pop star and her posse.

I'd also like to see spines for brutes, and ice melee and armour for stalkers. Though I don't have any character ideas for these ones yet.

No new models. Only two powers, and their animations and FX could be copied from the Necromancy ones and recolored. Take all of an hour to decide which powers the Shivans, Shivan Smashers, and Shivan Destroyers get with each upgrade. Powers: (1) Summon Shivan (1) Neutrino Bolt (2) X-Ray Beam. (6) Upgrade Shivans (8) Electron Haze (12) Summon Smasher (18) Summon Decimator (120 second duration, 15 minute cool-down, immune to recharge buff) (26) Summon Destroyer (32) Empower Shivans. Oh, and if Summon Decimator is too much? Even with that duration and cooldown? Fine, replace it with (18) Shiva Detonation (a version of Fallout that only works on dead Shivan pets). C'mon, do it! Even after Demon Summoning, masterminds will still lag everybody in powersets.
I agree it would be cool, but this won't happen, at least not this way. Look at all the current MM pets, they all have unique models, nothing like in game enemies or NPCs. If they did a shivan set it would have to look different than the in-game shivans, which kind of defeats the purpose.

I think the devs want to make sure MM pets are recognizable as being someone's pets and not an enemy. Look at what happens when someone summons a vet Clockwork pet, or makes a costume that looks like an enemy, or Khelds in squid or crab form on an ITF. I've found myself trying to target vet pets or players many times before.

I think the devs have a rule that all MM pets have to be models that are unique to MMs, and with good reason.
  8. I didn't take the mu immob on my bot/storm MM for my teammates, I took it for myself. Many of the bots' attacks do kb and can knock them out of ice storm or off of the assault bots burn patches. The Mu immob lets me keep them in it. Plus I can use it then let Tornado out with no kb.

Though I'm not sure how effective it is and may respec out of it. The larger aoe of the mace immob is tempting.
  9. Mu mastery's Electrifying Fences is the only Patron immob that has -kb. Web Envelope has a -rech and slow, and the other two have no secondary effect at all.

Unfortunately, if you want an aoe immob with kb, Mu Mastery is the only choice, and it has shorter range and a smaller area than the others.
  10. I already have a ss/inv brute at 50 I plan to take rogue, and perhaps go hero and back to vigilante. No immediate plans to make a new blue brute though. More interested in blue stalkers and MMs.

I like both scrappers and brutes, depending on what the character concept calls for, or if I want to play a set one of them doesn't have.

I'm not sure why you feel brutes are tougher than scrappers though. Brutes and scrappers have the same defensive numbers in their secondaries. Brutes do have higher base and cap hit points, but that's not a huge difference. Brute resistance cap is higher too, but that can't be reached without outside buffs, unless you're using the tier 9 in Invulnerability.
  11. Yeah, we started with 4 teams on Posi at 2 PM my time and still had 4 teams for Citadel at midnight, 10 hours later, and on a Sunday night no less.

Regarding the waiting for everyone before starting the next TF, you pretty much have to for these types of things. (edit:Unless you want to run an actual marathon race of all TFs at once, and then you need everyone to agree to stay for the whole thing.) Some people don't continue onto the next TF so a team that has enough for one may lose some and not be able to do the next TF, especially as the later TFs have higher minimum team sizes. Waiting and reforming teams prevents that. The teams mixing through the day also gives you a chance to team with different people, which I think makes it more fun.

Plus continuing without a team means they fall even further behind and are basically doing the marathon on their own, they won't get the chance to join the others on the later TFs. On top of that, as another person mentioned to me while we waited at Synapse, this was your event, we'd feel bad about continuing without you.
  12. Yay, congrats PW, this was a great story. Also, for entirely selfish reasons I'm happy you get a new arc slot. That means more of your stories for us to play. All of your stuff has been great.
  13. Apparently not so good at sending his team roster to Gel though, tsk tsk.

A good time as always ladies. It's always fun to team with the Sisterhood and friends.

Lady Yellow Jacket on the Synapse TF was an accidental invite. She logged in and spawned right next to me so I r-clicked her to check her info and accidentally pressed the I key, which invited her to the team. I didn't even realize it until she accepted. Unfortunately, she had to go after just over an hour so, but at least she got some xp. Apparently this was only her third or so TF, despite being a 3 year vet.

Coloradoan's character name was Something Cleric, I don't remember the first part. He joined to help pad when it looked like team 4 may not have enough to start. Then we filled and he ended up staying to the end. Apparently he expected to get some wife aggro that never happened.

Heh, I think the channels we watched may have been an anomaly Ion. I suspect they were skewed by the posts of a few people making jokes, or rather the same bad joke over and over and over.

I encountered something similar to this when I first opened the program, except not related to Swap Ammo. Check the second button next to the name at the top, the one by the first power slot. Make sure that says Power/Slot. If it says Power Only you can't place any enhancement slots.

I also noticed it defaults to PVP mode and Level-Up mode instead of PVE and Dynamic.

Also, if you first select a different power, add a slot to it, then deselect the power and select Swap Ammo instead, the slots remain.
If I understand right that is normal. When you remove a placed power any extra slots added to it will stay there.
  16. I don't know if there's a way to do this offline, but I think you should be able to load the game in safe mode.

When you start the updater there should be a start in safe mode button. If you check that I think it might start up for you and let you log in so you can change the settings.

    New Mids' Update

Yay new Mids, thanks Stoney, and everyone else involved. I really appreciate your work on this. I feel lost without at least a basic plan in mids. Testing dual pistols felt strange without any way to even look at it in mids.

I hate to bring up bugs so soon, but I am having a problem with ninja run. I noticed NR and Rest don't show up until you place a power at level two or higher, which makes sense I guess. This seems to me to be a new feature of this build and I think it is related to my problem.

If I load a saved build from the previous version that has all it's powers placed Ninja Run doesn't show up, and there seems to be no way to force it to. If I load a saved file that has open power slots NR will show up, but if all power slots are filled there's no NR.

Removing a power and re-selecting it doesn't work, and neither does removing a power, saving and reloading.

The lack of NR on a build with all it's powers seems to be related to Mids not recognizing that the build has "leveled" past 2 already.

Edit to add that Rest does show up on a "complete" build when NR does not. So maybe it's not just based on the level 2+ flag, or whatever it is.
  18. I really hope it's an increase to the maximum slots, even better if it's also more free slots. My home server is nearly full and I don't want to have to stop making characters there.
  19. Shields can't be used with claws, so that one is not an option. Stone Armour is also not usable with claws.

I wonder if the OP meant the secondaries in general, and not just the defense based ones? If so something with a damage aura might be nice. The constant damage buff from Follow Up is a nice boost to those. Sets with damage auras generally have lower protection though.
  20. Both upgrade powers are aoe, and will affect all of your henchmen in a 30' radius of the targeted pet. I suspect the Upgrade Robots power description hasn't been changed to reflect the changes, as they used to be single target buffs.

That's also why they cost so much endurance, they buff all pets at once.
  21. Actually knock up seems to be a separate thing. Knock down and knock back are the same. Knock down is just knock back of 0.75 or less, more than that and it becomes knock back.

There is no way to turn kb or kd into knock up, and enhancing knock up just makes them go higher.

So you example of lightning rod means it is knock down normally, and will become knock back if you enhance it to 0.93. So that will be noticeable. Once it is over 0.75, increasing it further means they get knocked back further.

Also, keep in mind that knock down is affected by the relative levels of enemies. A lower level enemy than you will be knocked back even by lightning rod. Whereas a high level enemy like a purple con will be knocked down by something that would normally do knock back.

    Secondary Advice

Most often what I do with my ar/dev on teams is just don't use my mines. I still get the benefit of cloak, targeting drone, and I use caltrops if the situation warrants.

No Build Up does leave me feeling weak at times, but fortunately AR puts up lots of orange numbers to make me feel better, and pistols is similar.

What I might do, especially for GR, is make a dp/traps corruptor instead of a dp/devices blaster. Lower damage, but more cool toys, including debuffs, and scourge is nice too. This is in addition to my planned dp/nrg though.

Regarding the redraw, it's not too bad. Boost range is every 30s when enhanced, and I find the sound it makes more annoying than the redraw. More out of combat than in it though. When in combat I am busy chaining attacks, and it doesn't get a chance to fire unless I stop queuing attacks. Then I'll slow down to let it fire at a convenient time.

Build Up is definitely worth the redraw, and again, I haven't found it annoying anyway.
  23. Oh my, a quick look at mids and some basic addition yields these total numbers for that.

    -regen 50%
    -to hit 43.85%
    -damage 75%
    -resist 145%
    -speed ~270%
    -rech 350%
    -def 55%

    fear mag 3
    2 kd patches

    unenhanced damage 250+25

    Plus a self aoe heal

Granted, this is ignoring durations and recharge. It's also the unenhanced numbers. The only thing is the -regen is kind of low, but it can be spammed and with the other debuffs would likely be unnecessary anyway.
