  1. Heh, there was another thread asking if we get anything special for labour day weekend, I guess this is it. We get a patch to test and play with.
  2. I've got two new characters and one re-roll planned.

Spines/elec with metallic spines and white/blue electricity.

Elec/regen with either yellow/white or yellow/blue electricity, and minimal regen fx.

Ill/cold to replace my ill/ta, partially to get rid of the redraw. No plans to change the default colours at this time. I may also make an arch/ta Corr eventually, but not right away.
  3. I've been on an all Assault Rifle ITF, 7 blasters and one AR/dark corruptor. It was chaos and lots of fun. Not as many deaths as you would expect either. Nearly all of the deaths were the AR/EM blapper. Exploding crystals and EBs were not kind to him.

The Corr's dark debuffs no doubt helped. I don't remember seeing him use them much, but like I said, it was pretty chaotic. We usually had 2 or 3 spawns engaged at once.

For Rommy, we sniped the healing nictus, and then I believe we just gunned him down after that.

Regarding the scrapper or all melee ITF, I'd love to do that. I have an ma/wp scrapper and an ss/inv brute that both do well on ITFs.

I assume this would be on test? Otherwise all my ITF range toons are on Liberty.
  4. I don't currently have any Spines characters, but come i16 I'll be making a spine/elec, a malfunctioning robot of course. I'll be happy to join you guys then.

I suspect issue 16 will see an increase in spiners, making these events easier to do.
  5. Welcome back. Hopefully issue 16's updated character creator and power customization won't make your "dress Barbie" problem too much worse, heh.

Haha, almost 12 months and I still do this sometimes.

On topic, looks like lots of good advice here. I'll just add that you should join the global channel for whichever server you pick, assuming you're not on the trial anymore. They're a great way to find teams, or even just people to chat with while you solo.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the forum page, each server section should have a stickied thread with the main global channels listed.
  7. It is possible to see the effects of damage enhancements in pet summon powers. In the enhancement screen, look at the details of that pet power, such as Call Thugs, near the bottom there will be a list of their basic powers before upgrades. You can expand that and it will show the increased damage just like normal powers do.

Unfortunately, I don't think you can do this for the powers granted by equip and upgrade. The damage enhancements are slotted in the summon, not equip or upgrade. So the upgrade power doesn't reflect that damage boost, but it will be applied to those attacks when the pets gain them.
  8. I haven't used plant yet, but do creepers show up in the pet window at all? You can enable the pet window on a controller, by setting a menu option, and then clicking a button on the team window. I did this on my illusion controller so I could see my phantom army status even when they were out of sight. It was easier than trying to pick their icon out of the mess of icons I have.

    Ss/inv build

That should be with one enemy in range. If you want to see what it is with none in range click the button to turn Invincibility off. It should be softcapped with 4 enemies in range and would be 52% with ten enemies.

Select the invincibility power by right clicking it and you can adjust the slider to see the effects of more or less enemies.

    Ss/inv build

My ss/inv is my highest level brute at 43 and current favourite. Below is my planned build. I don't have all the sets yet, and still experience end problems. I mostly play with tough off to save endurance as I don't usually need it. without tough running the end drain is high but controllable. Hopefully, when I get the rest of the sets and the last two +end procs my end issues will go away. If not I may have to replace a reactive set with an impervium set.

You might be able to get a bit more defense with some different sets, but I felt this was a good compromise. Oh, and I think I might steal a slot from somewhere so I can add the +perception IO to Rage. I'm used to willpower, and those widow smoke grenades are annoying me.

  11. Yes, PGT ticks and reapplies the -regen, so it lasts for as long as they're in the cloud plus 10 more seconds. Going by Redtomax's site it looks like it ticks every second. I believe it's auto hit.

  13. At the top of the thread click on "Thread Tools", and then "subscribe to this thread".

If you want you can even make folders to organize your subscribed threads.
  14. You might want to check or ask in the controller forums, as they have carrion creepers too.

I know the enhancement values from IO sets used to only apply to the creeper attack appropriate for that set, but that was changed with i15. Now the damage enhancement from Positron's blast, for example, will apply to all creeper attacks. However, I'm not sure if that also applies to the procs.

I don't mind having to log back in, but I do wish we could skip the countdown, or at least let us use alt-tab without interrupting the countdown. That way you could do something else while it exits.

I play with mids and the wiki open in the background and often would like to check those while the countdown runs, but can't without interrupting it.
  16. I don't think LBAE is a good idea, AE implies architect edition these days. The others are good though.
  17. What the.. I swear that wasn't there the last time I read that, but it has been probably 4 months. Hmm, yes the page has definitely changed since I saw it last.

I guess I need to re-evaluate my slotting, and that'll teach me to link to something and then talk about it without double checking it.
  18. Also keep in mind the exemplar effects on enhancements. You lose the bonus if you go more then 3 levels below the enhancement, or if you lose access to the power. So for powers you take at higher levels you can slot higher level enhancements.

Personally I prefer to use level 33 enhancements in the powers I take at 30 or lower, but the in higher level powers I'll use enhancements that are +3 above the level I take the power at. Though in some cases I'll use a higher level IO if I consider the enhancement value more important than the bonus.

Uhm...not to derail, but what do you mean by "ETA"? I don't think you're using it in the right context.

ETA means: Estimated Time of Arrival, and that's a pretty standard abbreviation.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In this context it means Edited To Add.
  20. Haha, I see the VSV acronym is catching on.

Unfortunately, I'll likely be going out of town this weekend, but if not I'll be there, and at the next one for sure.
  21. My mistake, I wasn't sure, I haven't got a necro that high yet so I was going off memory of what I had read.

The basic point though is that most pets don't need end redux. The ones that do only need about 30%, and usually only after the level 32 upgrade power.
  22. They won't take it now, but i15 on test changes that. Once that goes live you can slot it, so hang on to it until then.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
The Pink Killer Rabbit is VERY right. lol 2 Thugs/Storms will bury just about anything you go up against, hell I got ONE and they bury just about anything. The Lightning Storm, the best thing to do it give it 3 slots with recharge SO or IOs. I personally add 3 more slots for heavy damage. You get it ready more often, AND it fires its bolts faster, say ... just under 1 shot per second. Oh and you CAN cast one while you have one already up.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The bolded is no longer true, +recharge doesn't affect pets anymore, from any source. Recharge in LS is still good to get it out there more often, and even to have two of them, but it won't make them fire more often.
  24. I have a bot/storm at 43 and LS is decent. It won't kill a minion for you but it does add some damage, and when it comes to damage more is always better. Plus the kb for some mitigation.

According to the Red Tomax site LS's blast does 40 damage at 50. That's more damage than the Assault bot's basic plasma blast, with the same recharge, and slightly less than the tier two MM attack, but with half the recharge time.

The damage is not huge but it's noticeable, and don't forget the awesomeness of having a storm cloud shooting bolts of lightning at your enemies.
  25. There are some pets that need endurance reduction, like protector bots, and I've heard Enforcers, Oni and the Lich, but most pets don't need it. The ones that do generally only need about one SOs worth.

Of course if you're going for set IOs, you'll likely end up with some end redux by accident anyway.
