So I want to make a MM Duo team.
id have to say do 1 pain and 1 dark. 1 /pain MM is enough to keep lots of pets running with suppress pain+nullify pain and the occasional single target heal for pets in danger of dropping, the buffs/debuff are really nice too.
i think dark will be great for the 2nd MM because of the enforcer's +def aura all stacking with eachother (leadership buffs from enforcers buff other people's thugs to, nice eh?) and being added onto by dark's -tohit. dark also has tar patch which will stack nicely with angushing cry.
theres bunch of other great things that will work but its 6:30am and i really dont feel like typing all of them

Also, could someone explain (or post a linky) about this putting the pets in passive and there's only 2/3rds dammage or something?
I think Thugs/Pain + Thugs/Dark is a good combo as well. Un-targeted AOE heals, plus targeted AoE heals, plus Acc debuffs, plus control. Nice. The /Pain can be following while "rockin the aura" or whatever.
Another option would be 2 Thug/FF just for the crazy defense. Its too bad you couldnt do 3 accounts. Then you could do Thug/FF x 2 PLUS a Thugs/Pain.

Me and a buddy are having a lot of fun playing Thug/Dark(him) and Thug/Storm(me). He keeps us healed and and the mobs tohit debuffed, I keep the mobs at range and slowed. By level 12 we were playing at challenge level 4.
The problem is that /Dark and /Storm are both very "drive-heavy" secondaries. You'll get half the benefit from whichever one isnt being driven by a real person. Now, if you get double or triple stormers going, then the triple hurricanes pretty much dooms everything, so it works anyway.
One thugs/dark and one thugs/storm just wont be nearly as good if he is 2-boxing. IMO.

Two Thug/Storms can be ridiculously powerful. From 1-15 are as hard as two-boxing Masterminds can be. At level 16 you get Freezing Rain. At this point the game is over and you have won. Approach a pack. Drop Freezing Rain on its head. Win. It's that simple. Alternate using the MMs Freezing Rain or double-up on each pack.
I have 6 Thug/Storms. When using them I rarely ever bother with Hurricane. I put the one leading off with Freezing Rain in full bodyguard mode and any not throwing the first Freezing Rain have their tier 1s in bodyguard and the tier 2/3s on aggressive. Storm has lots of other powers that are great, fantastic and fun. Freezing Rain is the only one you really need.
For two thugs, I would want something with massive debuffage, the pets are never going to get hit with all the def from the enforcers. The problem, as some have pointed out, is the sets that debuff are fairly active and perhaps not easy to 2x box. I don't know much about pain, but if it has a decent ammount of +dam to give the pets, it could work well.
I just started an advanced (that is, PL'd) 2box duo of Thugs and Bots/Dark.
Had some good laughs last night....granted the critters were Council.
Feeling bold, I even tried a custom +3 AV, but got smolly-whopped pretty good lol.
One thing is for certain, I need to check the guides for some good macros and binds.
Need to pick up some -KB as well.
Before the weekend's out, I'll be adding a Bots/FF for a nice trio.

Thugs MM duo? A combination of Pain, Poison, and Dark would work well, I'd imagine.
Well, a /FF and /Dark would have really solid symmetry.

I'd like to add that I have tried every combo listed above in duos while two-boxing Masterminds, except any that include Pain Domination. I've done Darks, I've done traps, I've done Poisons, Force Fields and Trick arrows. Thug/Storm simply outshines them all from a kicking booty perspective when 2-boxing.
I don't understand the notion that storm may be "too active" for multiboxing. Perhaps they consider clicking the other window, clicking Freezing Rain, and clicking the ground as being "too active".
If you'd like to see two Thug/Storms two-boxed at level 16 or higher let me know. I'm not saying any of these other combos are bad. Most of them are pretty darn fantastic. Thug/Storm is simply that much more fantastic.
I agree that Storm is good for 2-boxing if you have more than one of them. I just think it would be a lot harder to leverage a /Storm and a /Dark together for 2-boxing.

sorry quick thread hijack long as we're talking bout storm. but out of curiousity how is the damage on lightning storm for a MM?
I've got no problems with trying going Storm for my next trio.
2 out of 3 with an FF thrown in the 3rd spot maybe.
Ohhhh...and think of the goodness that could be Demon/Storm.

I have a bot/storm at 43 and LS is decent. It won't kill a minion for you but it does add some damage, and when it comes to damage more is always better. Plus the kb for some mitigation.
According to the Red Tomax site LS's blast does 40 damage at 50. That's more damage than the Assault bot's basic plasma blast, with the same recharge, and slightly less than the tier two MM attack, but with half the recharge time.
The damage is not huge but it's noticeable, and don't forget the awesomeness of having a storm cloud shooting bolts of lightning at your enemies.
The Pink Killer Rabbit is VERY right. lol 2 Thugs/Storms will bury just about anything you go up against, hell I got ONE and they bury just about anything. The Lightning Storm, the best thing to do it give it 3 slots with recharge SO or IOs. I personally add 3 more slots for heavy damage. You get it ready more often, AND it fires its bolts faster, say ... just under 1 shot per second. Oh and you CAN cast one while you have one already up.

The bolded is no longer true, +recharge doesn't affect pets anymore, from any source. Recharge in LS is still good to get it out there more often, and even to have two of them, but it won't make them fire more often.
So you are going to control two characters at the same time? If that's the case, then duo Thug/Pain because the 2nd /pain can just put on auto aoe and use World of Pain whenever it's up.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

The downside to that plan is that an AoE heal is virtually worthless to a well constructed and played Mastermind duo.
one pain or dark, one traps or ff
Hey All,
I have 2 accounts so I am looking to create a DUO of MM's (I''ve done alot of DUO's Blueside, but I thought I would switch over for this one). Yes I prefer to make a duo of the same kind of toon (ie, not a Brute/Dom team or something like that).
Given that, I think I want Thugs/xx. The problem is what should xx be? I'm thinking a pair of Pain Dom's (cause I ran so many x/Emp teams before).
What do you all suggest? is PD close to what EMP brings on blueside? would I want somee other secondary or could you suggest 2 different secondary's that have good synergy together?
