added note: this is NOT saying that all pvpers are members of that community, I met a lot of fun players back in the day, but that socially retarded 25%-40% of the pvp community that shows up in any game with pvp, usually higher numbers the more you can attack defenseless or heavily outclassed players to disrupt their play, is prevalant enough to make people not want to play.
You can meet 9 friendly and nice PvPers, but you always remember the one smacktard before any others.

Good point. There are people here who hate PvP in this game, but enjoy it in others.

And there are people who hate PvP itself, regardless of the game. It doesn't matter if it's Halo, Street Fighter, Metal Gear Online, or even Chess. Maybe it's the smacktalk that goes on? Or maybe the person just isn't good at going against other players? Who knows?

I don't hate the PvP here, but it could use some work. But if Capcom gives Street Fighter Alpha 3 online capabilities? Please believe I will be all over that.

    Merry Christmas!

DO NOT DRIVE IF THE WEATHER IS BAD.

I'd spam this if it were allowed, but even if it was allowed there is always some person that won't listen.

"I thought I could make it" and "I didn't think I would get stuck" are the common excuses that firemen and cops say they hear the most.

If it's to the point that no cops, firemen, or snowplows can go out, what about that makes some people think they can still go out?

EDIT: Gah, I had forgotten that I posted something similar in another thread. But I do not think it can be said enough.
  4. I honestly did not know Dial-Up was still around.

    Thank you guys

    Indeed.

But from what I've seen, goodbye posts should really be called "be back later". Everyone I know who leaves comes back. I hope the OP is able to as well.
  6. Hmm.

When I was in 6th grade, I made comics with character named Nightblade. I wanted a character with powers after that, so Darkstar was created shortly after.

2006, I try to create the two only to find the names are already in use, probably by someone who is not even playing the game anymore.

I guess I will try the color idea. It works, but it just isn't the same.....
  7. EDIT: Never mind, I got on.

I WILL, however, transfer an alt just in case something like this happens again......
  8. Ew.

I got this once as well, with the added effect of having any anti-virus/spyware being disabled whenever I tried to start it to remove the virus. (I think it was a Trojan though.)

Luckily, it was time for a new HDD, and I had already made backups of all of my data before I caught that virus, so I just chucked the infected HDD and never again tried to download what gave me the Trojan in the first place. (I was trying to download a MUGEN character.)

    Your sig image wins.

    Any New Updates?

It's a drought for me at the moment as well.....all the console games I want don't come out until 2010, and there's no idea as to what Issue 17 might contain, or even if the devs want to give any more issues before GR. Correct me if I am wrong on this.

Maybe now is a good time to catch up on some unplayed/unfinished console games?

I'll give you that. Guy was a bit overpowered when in the right hands during the Street Fighter Alpha series. It doesn't look like much has changed.....

In fact, because I don't know who you are, I have no idea whether or not you might have been framed for your supposed 'crimes.' As such, since you interrupted me while I was in the midst of either stopping a crime or preparing myself to engage someone who I KNOW is a criminal, you are really nothing more than an annoyance.

As such, I have things that I have to do and I can either waste time dealing with your nonsense or get to doing those things."

That's pretty much the rp reply to your question. Until the developers show some interest in integrating the two sides of the game (rp and pvp), that's likely to remain my answer. My characters face threats and stop evil. They don't engage in meaningless gladiatorial exercises that serve no purpose.
When a thread like this was posted a few years ago, I saw something that went like this: (Or at least what I can remember)

Batman: Joker, leave me alone, I don't want to PvP.
    Joker: LMAO
  13. I can fight somewhat if this ever happened to me, but I kinda lack actual punching power.

......Brass Knuckles and weighted gloves aren't illegal, are they?

Some people just do not want to PVP.

    At all.

    REALLY.

    I mean it.

They signed up to be heroes. They didn't necessarily sign up to PVP.

Again, some don't want to PVP.

    At all.
    EVER!
    Is this becoming clear?

So, the next time you run into someone who is OBVIOUSLY trying to ACTIVELY avoid PVP, and you're not particularly there to PVP, stop harassing them and telling them your name is Richard.
Does this mean that I won't ever get to play Super Street Fighter 4 online with most CoH players?

Same. I don't mind being bothered too much in a PvP zone because of this. One Headsplitter from me, and the person flees like a bat out of hell.

Assassin Strike used to make me want to scream, but nowadays, my scrappers take them only to say "Did a bug just bite me?"

I can think of several console online multiplayer games where people do the same thing as well.....
  16. I don't have any magic characters, but I would have gone if I did.

Not all of Omega Team was wiped out, as the two sisters in the LGTF have proven. Perhaps there are other survivors that we don't know about.
  17. I wasn't a fan of the farming, but I will admit that I engaged in a bit of it, for the tickets. (I only had level 50s at the time.) It was necessary, as the farming had gotten out of control, but at the same time a bit sad, as AE buildings are deserted compared to pre-Issue 16 days.

When ever I go, I see one other individual, if I'm lucky.

I really hate the image that the farms gave to AE. I doubt it can ever be redeemed.
  18. If one on my heroes was on the Omega Team?

The Rikti Homeworld would have been a very lonely and barren place.

  21. I am very content with my 9800.....but a more powerful card does not hurt. I always get a new one annually anyway.

I'm eyeing a 275......but I would need a new case, and possibly a much more powerful PSU.

I'll wait till I'm done with Final Fantasy 13.

  23. I am another who thinks that all AT's will still see equal use.

There still remains a part of me that thinks stalkers will still remain useless. (I'm joking.)

I've heard this before. If someone were to try that these days, 99.9 percent of people asked would probably not answer the door, let alone let a stranger stay. (And for good reason......the rate of murderers, thieves, rapists, et al seems to have shifted to overdrive these days. I don't blame anyone who doesn't let a stranger stay overnight in this Iron Age.)
