Any New Updates?
nothing yet, we know closed beta is to start first quarter of 10, so its likely coming up. as a 66 monther in a few days who stayed active over the loyalty period, that is the thing of interest now, but likely they will be dealing with nda'd stuff, so i'd expect a drought of informal info. probablya re going to get some teasers soon though.
This place seems to have been nothing but incoherent musings between players for quite some time now.

This companies deft skills of tantalizing and stoking interest have always, always been utterly pathetic.
They're just par for the course currently.
It's made a bit worse on the forums by a community rep who's pretty hands off
On the other hand, I fairly regularly get an email flier from a company I don't like, for a hero game I hate.
Maybe NCS isn't aware email is free, and that a tidbit here and there can't hurt.
I'm jonesing for something. Anything. Next issue info? A teaser on the next superbooster? More Going Rogue reveals? Just gimmie sooooooomethiiiiiiiiing!

All they got to say is one word about the new update and knowing us lot . . . . . . we'll all go mental about it for weeks
Give us a word!!!!

I'd say there's a fair bit of tantalizing going on just in this one stoked interest thread alone, so what ever it is Paragon's not doing, it seems to be working. (And the coveted junk emails you've received about Brand X's hero game seem to not be stoking and tantalizing-- by your own "game I hate" admission.)
.
I'm not sure if Paragon Studios kept the same policy, but back under Cryptic the devs got a nice long vacation during the holidays. I don't remember if it was all the way from Thanksgiving to New Years, but it was pretty close.
I honestly wouldn't expect any really big announcements until January. We're mostly waiting on the Winter Event for now, which should be starting next week if the previous ones are any indication.
Never surrender! Never give up!

Okay... here's some for ya... now before you get in a tizzy remember you said you wanted "New" updates... you said nothing about "accurate"...
* To take advantage of the new Ultra Graphics mode coming with Going Rogue there will be new impact animations on all enemy types. There is some tweaking yet to occur however, as a single Super Strength punch against a Hydra will cause it to endlessly "Jell-O mold jiggle" as the shockwave makes circuits around its body.
* With the popularity of costume change emotes the developers will be introducing the Death Throes emote. You set your favorite manner of death and when you lose the fight you will go into whatever your favorite animation is. Choices will include: I Coulda Been A Contender, Flop-Like-A-Fish, Lemming Self-Destruction Pop and Stumble Twist Turn and Topple. Please note that the William Shatner death emote is uninterruptible since any death scene lasting less than 2 minutes would not be true Shatner.
* You've had that cell phone since your first contact gave you their cell phone number. Now you'll finally get to use it! To add realism to the game you will now get incoming phone calls! Just imagine how heroic you'll feel when you field calls from relatives, friends, telemarketters, and villains you just defeated desiring to spend their one phone call telling you off!
* Now that the OTHER game allows your player to have an arch-nemesis who fights you and follows you throughout your career; CoH developers will soon initiate their own version! The City of Heroes' nemesis system will be a little different, however. The Devs figure that since the game already HAS a Nemesis, why not use him? That's right! Your character will now be victim to a concentrated series of Nemesis Plots through out their career! Contacts will turn on you. Seeming victories will turn out to be complete defeats. Every good thing you accomplish will all seem to directly or indirectly benefit Nemesis himself! Watch all your life's work become meaningless! Yes, it's the Nemesis System!
My mind wanders so often you've probably seen its picture on milk cartons. - Me... the first person version of the third person Steelclaw

Interesting logic.
Though, bits of game update teasers from PS, and subscribers inquiring about the dearth of such information, don't inhabit the same universe in the context you used them in.
It's silly even to reply to. It's equivalent to asserting that advertising your product is overrated, because consumers generate their own interest in your widget.
But then again, based on empirical evidence, PS likely agrees with your conclusions over mine.
This isn't me being tantalized by all the things down the road that I must know more. This me and my waning interest of the game and wondering if I so stick around while nothing is happening.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

They've always worked frantically up to Christmas.
They've always taken Christmas to New Years off, as in the whole studio together.
Except the poor server engineers who need to run maintenance and feed the hamsters.

It's a drought for me at the moment as well.....all the console games I want don't come out until 2010, and there's no idea as to what Issue 17 might contain, or even if the devs want to give any more issues before GR. Correct me if I am wrong on this.
Maybe now is a good time to catch up on some unplayed/unfinished console games?
