I personally use the set IO's at low lvls for frankenslotting so at least, instead of starting with the (boring) Acc, then endrdx, then rchg and then finally dmg, I can get a bit of everything on attacks early when few slots on them. Usually I pick the cheapest recipes available since I am not interested in set bonuses but in % at those lvls and never found them unaffordable, just a couple lucky drops cover for it plenty.

I have an Earth/Storm controller, mainly aimed for teaming. However, sometimes it's hard to find a team, and I have to solo, but my damage is terribly low.
Any advice to build a bit soloable earth/storm? I don't want an 'uber' char, I just need to be able to solo some missions a bit faster than a rooted snail
[/ QUOTE ]
Earth/whatever is a pain in the royals at low levels, usually starts picking up after lvl 32 with stoney, depending on the secondary. With storm you should be able to solo and even farm at high levels since both sets can take lots of procedures of many kinds. Until it starts catching up, afraid that you'd better keep him stored until you find teams or be mega-patient mate. -

Heya,
I have been taking a look at Mid's and for some reason, I can't find the ToHitDebuff value for Tenebrous Tentacles. Checked later in Red Tomax City of Data but there it doesn't even state that Tenebrous Tentacles have a ToHitDebuff effect which is odd because, either City of Data is wrong or the game has a serious bug since TT definitely accepts ToHitDebuff enhancements.
Does anyone know the ToHitDebuff Values for Defenders and/or Scrapper Ancillary?
Thanks.-
[/ QUOTE ]
CoD certainly has them, its 9.4% for the Defender version (less than I thought actually, I though it was 12%) Reference
Scrapper version is 5.4% Reference

Ouch, didn't see that there, thx mate -

I'll take a look when home since I don't have Mid's here, at first sight, just to let you know, Numina's Convalescence +regeneration/+recovery, you really want that one in health instead of Dull Pain for the perma regen and rec bonus.
You can also achieve around 35% psi res and about 15%-20% psi def on an inv tank nowadays easily with sets. -

Thanks, so are RI and EF both worth taking?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, plus Lingering Radiation. -
What they said, you NEED Earthquake. I wouldn't skip Stone Cages either, it is useful in combination with Volcanic Gasses

My vengeance is better than all your vengeances
Friday the 29th is ok for me, that allows me some time to annoy DB (btw, he only has the sonic on Defiant methinks). -

I have a US account, if you could transfer all characters and the VG, i'd be gone like a shot.
So would the main 10 or so people in our VG.

This, but in my case I'd have to create a new account there. -

Oh and another scrapper to add:

I think I only have 4 at lvl 50, Dark Blast, Gloom, Night Fall and TT... oh wait, I also have Sands of Mu and Air Superiority, I iz teh pwn0rz
-
My D3 is now on Defiant and ready to rock, plus I think DB's sonic is 50 already.
Oh and I have the mass rez 3 slotted for recharge
Edit: Not so keen on this tbh, seemed fun back then, perhaps an all defender shivan run first just to take a glimpse of what awaits? -

I go down fighting.
No, I'm not much of a challenge, but I try. I participate.

I'm on same boat, I couldn't PvP even if my life depended on it so, when in a PvP area such as RV to work off some debt on a low dmg toon or something like that, if ANYONE in there, experienced PvPer or not attacks me, I am going to faceplant anyway, so why not try hitting him at least? I might get lucky and land a hit in the nonos. -

my earth controllwers quicksand is proc'd for damage and i am not impressed
[/ QUOTE ]
Can I ask in which way you are not impressed mate? I mean, on dmg terms or on activation frequency? My proc in quicksand is the one I see triggering more often but I guess it is just the others are not so obvious due to having more floating numbers, but I can see it activating everytime I cast quicksand, on damage terms that would be obviously another matter ofc, I am happy with mine but that doesn't mean anyone else is happy with same figures. -

Yeah, but gravity makes things fall to earth....
I'll take my coat -
Chels is right but I can also see Cognito's point about added damage from storm. With her build, had she a different secondary than storm the damage output would still be amazing though. In my case is a more blurry line, I don't have as many procs (yet) but being Earth/Rad/Fire, my damage is more or less delivered equally from Earth procs, Stoney and Fire Blast/Fire ball, all them enhanced from rad effects.
Earth/Empathy might not be as good output damage as earth/storm, but still has got some potential, specially with Fire epic. With the riight procs on earth, plus epic pool fire damage and stoney on perma fortitude Earth/Empathy can become quite interesting too, not saying it can solo through missions as fast as a fire/kin or even a scrapper but could do good nevertheless.
Edit: Mentioned Fire epic because I am only familiarized on fire epic for controllers, there may be a better suited one ofc, but I mentioned what I used so far.
Edit2: I mentioned earth/empath because Cognito used it as an example and I mixed this thread with the one about Earth/Empathy trollers in the Controllers section, sorry about that, see, it's 46ÂșC here and my brain is fried above usual levels I am afraid -

I recommend all brutes (except EA and SR) take the fighting pool anyway, S/L being the most common and hardest hitting damage type, mitigating that = priority numbero uno!
[/ QUOTE ]
Tough is helpful for SR (and I guess EA too) for allocating the Steadfast Protection +3% defense, no need to toggle Tough on though, plus it is better to get Weave than going Boxing+Kick
Back on topic, for /Inv, what Xemulas said -

1) The damn endurance slog till you hit stamina. How can running out of endurance every few seconds be fun?
[/ QUOTE ]
Edited for truth -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Actually, the main difference for me was (according to mids') that DC is 25% endurance/hit and Consume is 20% endurance/hit. I reasoned that at the point where I need endurance, I might have not that many enemies left to begin with. Most likely facing off a single enemy.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmmm, I am pretty sure it showed 20% unless it was 25% after slotting or I recall uncorrectly. As far as I remember, the only two differences were the damage and the radius, will check again when back home.
[/ QUOTE ]
OK scratch my pile of [censored], just checked, it is 25% for Dc and 20% for Consume sowwy -
[ QUOTE ]
The only change I would make to the above build is to get Recall Friend earlier. Howling Twilight is a group rez; being able to gather all to you and then team rez is very useful.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, now that you mention, I took ttravel power at lvl 22 to fit in recall friend while lvling and then made this power order on respec. Either recall friend or teleport foe will do for taht, although I confess I enjoyed piling up corpses and the pull a foe with Gloom for massive rez -
You're welcome mate, feel free to PM @Nightmarer if you need anything. This build could use a few more set IO's, but so far it performs well for ma and I am using all my inf on a couple scrappers atm.
-
Fire /Mental is fun combo indeed. I am also having fun with Ice/Elec and Elec/Nrg, but so far Fire/Mental is the overall winner for me.

You running by any chance a NVidia graphic card on Windows Vista? if so... welcome to teh club, it's a known issue and you can gather more information (and hopefully a solution or at least alleviating your crashing frequency) in other threads on this very section.

Mine:
1.- Cimerora arc, I hate the idea of doing same arc again and again just to gain entrance to a zone. I guess Cimerora should be accessed from whatever minimum lvl you need to get in, kinda hazard zone and the arc should be given by a contact inside Cimerora so you can choose either do it or not.-
2.- Positron TF, it feels like a "revolution tax" you have to pay to get the Accolades. The other TF's vary from bad (Synapse) to good (Sister Psyche), no complaints there, it is what it is, but Positron TF is too much, it feels like a penitence or something. Iirc, they have plans to revamp it, well, now it's not too soon.
3.- Heroside Respec Trials, I think the reactor should be revamped somehow, you spend a 10% of the overall completion time actually doing something and the remaining 90% just waiting at the reactor for waves to spawn. Don't know if they could make them spawn after 15 seconds since last foe is killed (15 secs should be enough to bubble up and go back for more) or something, if it takes longer then go check the corridor looking for a teleporter or look underneath the generator in case a foe has been knocked back there (they could fix that too now that I think). It would also be nice to tag the glowies saying "NOTHING WILL HAPPEN IF YOU CLICK THIS GLOWIE, NO LESS COOLANT BELTS, NO MORE WAVES AND NO LUSCA SPAWNING IN REACTOR"
Edit: Oh, I forgot one, remembered it after Coin's post, damn runners on office/warehouse mishes, why can't they just run towards the door and disappear instead of returning back to push you again and again while you're ( at least theorically) fighting the foes that threaten their lives? They're all nemesis Automatons I tell you, it's all a Nemesis plot!
