/Invulnrability and res cap.

I have rolled a SS/Inv brute, have been playing him through the early levels of the game and am really enjoying it. I am looking at trying to take him the distance and am after a little advice.

I have looked at the defence and resistance numbers of the /inv secondary and have seen that defence caps out at 90%.

What I am wondering is if taking the Fighting power pool (specifically Tough and Weave) will make a big difference (or no difference) for terms of 'tanking'. Basically, in the experience of those players who know more about this than I, is Tough/Weave worth taking as a SS/Inv Brute?

Any help and suggestions are appreciated...

Big difference.

On a resistance based set (alright inv has +def too, so it never hurts to take weave too) tough is a very very welcome addition.

I know tankers can, but with it being a secondary, i'm *guessing* brutes can cap it too.

I recommend all brutes (except EA and SR) take the fighting pool anyway, S/L being the most common and hardest hitting damage type, mitigating that = priority numbero uno!

Tough is helpful for SR (and I guess EA too) for allocating the Steadfast Protection +3% defense, no need to toggle Tough on though, plus it is better to get Weave than going Boxing+Kick

Back on topic, for /Inv, what Xemulas said

Invul Brute's can't cap S/L Solo.

i would assume to keep the balance between brutes and tanks is the reason why tough doesn't give the same % of resistance increase.

Yup, iirc tough uses an AT scaling pattern not too unlike the pattern that the leadership powers follow
