i was just wondering if any one can help over the last few days of playin CoV the game keeps crashing and i dont know why i have tryed making sure every thing is upto date driver wise ran windows updater god knows how many times reinstalled graphics cards bout 6 times updated the drivers and tryed different versions of the drivers to see if that stops the problem but no matter what i do i get in game try to use a power and some times it will work but then usually about 10 mins later whilst trying to use another or the same power the game stutters as if it is lagging then crashed and this keeps happening no matter what i try to resolve the issue can any 1 help me please before i screem

1) What are you running it on? Literally *nothing* we can do unless you give us your spec

i am running it on a alienware laptop
vister 32 bit 2.4ghz pro
gforce go 7900 gs
ram 2 gb

and sorry bout grammar it never been good

As you've written it, the spec is enough to play the game. Sounds like it might be a graphics issue, though.

Try starting CoX in Safe mode (a tick-box on the start-up client), playing like that for a while, and if everything works slowly start increasing your graphics settings until you find the thing that crashes you out.

I use a 7900 card in my desktop with pretty much everything on high or V high, so you shouldn't be suffering this much.

You running by any chance a NVidia graphic card on Windows Vista? if so... welcome to teh club, it's a known issue and you can gather more information (and hopefully a solution or at least alleviating your crashing frequency) in other threads on this very section.

Just the odd comma so my brain can breathe

Are you using the official Nvidia drivers? If so i recommend changing to Omega Drivers and using any tweaktools they come with. I run on a laptop, and before I sorted out my drivers, I had the same issue as you. Though that was down to overheating, and some high end particle physics causing a fan lockup.

I'll leave any Vista related advice to those who run it on Vista. I stripped this of Vista and returned to XP just so i could play games (or do anything) without the headach that is that OS

i have tryed doing the thing with setting my 3d management to be set to 1 display only, tryed lowering my graphics setting, and i am trying to find these omega drivers but having no luck yet.

First thing that sprang to mind is that it looks like your video drivers are a tad old... unless I'm misreading my NVidia driver codes again, you're on version 97.59, when the latest WHQL version is 175.19

Try these.

when i try to install any of the drivers u guys have sugested, i get a error message on the instalation thing saying either: the operating system you are using is not windows vista 32bit ( which i actually am using), the other one i get is that the installer can not find any drivers for the hardware that i am trying to installe

Exception_Access_Violation fault 0xc0000005 is usually either memory or driver related. This is why I figured it was likely to be your video drivers, since you have a laptop (unless you have recently upgraded your RAM, in which case, get out your screwdriver and reseat your RAM again).

Since there seems to be a slight fault with the NVidia drivers either finding your OS or indeed the drivers themselves (which is VERY odd) in the installer. The only thing left for me to suggest is rather than using the specific driverset I pointed you at, use the "Option 2" on this page. It might help.
