Yeah, my Controller runs seven toggles. I make an audible weeping noise anytime I miss with Transference. Running a tightrope of endurance is nothing new to me. Granted, this will be the next level of pain, I'm still up for the challenge. I'm hoping with a combo of Power Sink and Conserve Power, I'll be ok. Then again, this is all on paper at this point. Long way to go.
-
My defensive powers will consist of (all totals after enhancements):
Shadow Fall - 5.94%
Weave - 6.74%
Hover - 3.37%
Combat Jumping - 3.37%
Maneuvers - 4.16%
My -ToHit powers will consist of (all totals after enhancements):
Twilight Grasp - 7.92%
Darkest Night - 23.8%
Fearsome Stare - 23.8%
So my total defense without set bonuses is 23.6% and -ToHit is 55.5%.
I know that sounds crazy to some, but I run a Scraptroller (Illusion / Kinetics) that I enjoy immensely because I can stand toe-to-toe with just about anything. Maybe it won't work for my Corruptor, but I won't know until I try. On paper, ignoring endurance concerns, this character is going to be wicked powerful. My Controllers biggest downfall was the inability to debuff AVs, so I could never overcome their regen rate, and they (typically) couldn't do enough concurrent damage to me for me to be unable to heal from.
That said, I'm not trying to build some sort of AV killer; but I would like a character I can plant into typical battle situations and live -- which I feel I can build. -
Thanks all. Very handy info. I've got a Controller at the soft cap defensively (45%) and I'm considering the same for my Corruptor. Of course, with my Controller it came down to working the system a bit more, my Corruptor is going to be greatly hampered by endurance issues -- even with set bonuses.
Considering he's only level 26 right now, I've got plenty of time to worry about it. Again, thanks! -
Hey folks. I'm looking for someone to explain to me the difference between +DEF and debuffing a MOB with -ToHit. I'm working on a Corruptor who's tired of dying, so I'm going to work on some defense -- be it with a better -ToHit offense or a better self +DEF. I'm well aware that adding -ToHit helps the whole team, but let's not worry about that for the moment. I'm just looking at understanding the difference within the game of how hit rolls look at +DEF and -ToHit rolls.
I'm working with Dark as my Secondary, so I have a couple of debuffing opportunities. With two powers, I can apply 20% -ToHit to my enemies. Does that equate to a +20% DEF (ignoring buffs)?
Finally, what are the caps for a Corruptor on defense? I'm guessing 45% is the max, but I'd love someone to confirm or correct. Thanks! -
Not to threadjack here, but, um, Kaptain K... Is your avatar a very evil Senator Byrd, or am I just reading way to much into your location.
/fellow WV player, by the way
//Hmmm... I should make a Senator Byrd in game!
///Is there anyway to be a villain everywhere except your starting zone? Also, we'll need to change the name of Atlas Park to Robert C Byrd Park. -
I just want to see this play out in your heroes mind:
"Ah, dang it. I think that lab gas is making me sick... Well, time to blow myself up". -
Hey, be happy you had a teammate willing to stick it out, regardless of the cost. Most the time it's: enter mission door, "Going AFK for a sec", mission over, "Back!".
-
This has been posted on before, but I don't believe it got a Dev response.
Hey Devs! You could fill it with "Going Rogue" stuff! -

Well I guess that squashes the "MA is Dead" rumor... if it was, this wouldn't have warranted a server wallop or a redname forum post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, it's dead. The people enjoying it, playing it, and creating content for it just don't know it yet... Don't tell them either. The farmers are trying to get enough people together to throw a surprise party -- unfortunately, everyone seems to be in MA missions. Huh, maybe they could write an Arc about it? -
Steiner,
Let the board mods / Community Specialist know you are taking over (send them a PM) and see if there is anything they can do to help. I'm sure they understand how vital the program is to some of the community and would be willing to work with you on highlighting releases and other important info.
As with any other project, the community shouldn't expect you to run over here to tell us every little thing that takes place (certainly when we can get that info by going to the Titan Network forums), but in return, it would be nice to know about releases here on the main board.
I'm sure this will all work out in the end. Like I stated before, it's sad to see Mids move on, but you sound willing and able to carry on. Can't wait for the update! -
Mids, I doubt I'd have any Alts without your program. Just like planning a route for a trip, your program was my Hero Map. It's very sad to see you go.
To all the new folks involved -- I wish you the best of luck. You've got incredible shoes to fill. I'm sure the community will help you just as much as we attempted to help Mids, so don't be afraid to ask. -
For your $20 you get:
Free month ($15 value)
Free booster ($10 value)
So, if you planned on playing another month and was going to buy either of the two booster... buy this, it's cheaper.
(there, now everyone can just quote this post =) -
A few wishlist items that CoX could add, but probably never will:
Enemies with multiple damage areas - A large single enemy where you could destroy an arm or a leg, causing different effects, before actually defeating the enemy.
NPC base raids - Allow Super Groups to defend their bases from NPC attacks.
True ongoing storyline - Let our actions matter somewhere. Boomtown would be a perfect place for a zone that is ever changing. We know the tech exists since it's used in Recluse Victory.
Custom power animations - Like flight, but for powers. If an animation takes the same amount of time as a different animation, let us swap them. It might not work for everything, but with a bit of tweaking, this could be an easy way to allow more customization to our characters.
Player purchasable ad space - All that time and effort spent on selling ad space is being wasted. Let players purchase it to promote their MA arcs. Cheap, short run ads could be a fun and interesting way to dress up the landscape. If people don't like the idea, they can just turn off the ads like before.
Selectable music within MA missions - I doubt the music is hard coded to selected maps, so let us choose what music is playing when you enter a map.
These are just the ones I could come up with off the top of my head that you don't see over and over. -

How is this a bad thing? I want a frosted cupcake... -
I had an arc that has been dead for XX days now (no idea, just noticed it today) that wouldn't play and wouldn't allow me to edit it. When I clicked the edit button, nothing happened. I don't know if maybe something blew it up in the first patch and then really blew it up in the second or what. Couldn't re-publish, couldn't edit, couldn't play.
Here's the odd thing, I had an old save that was about 95% complete and it opened just fine. I know I had energy field animations that were automatically altered and one of my civilian's data was all screwy, so I fixed that. Added the last 5%, re-posted (new ID unfortunately) and it worked.
Would like to see some sort of notification when changes come down the pipe that crash arcs. I don't know how possible that is, but I think it would be worth taking the time to add the code. -
For the last two weeks or so, I've been pumping some heavy publicity into my arc on different websites and getting no response from it. A bit distraught, I decided to play it this morning to see if there was any glaring holes or mistakes I could change to make it more appealing...
Well, I click 'Play' and nothing happens. Hm. That's odd. I click it again. Nothing. I try starting another arc, that works fine. Well, long story short, one of the many recent patches killed my MA arc. Not only was it unplayable, it was un-editable! So for the last couple weeks, I've been sending people the arc ID of a dead arc. Wonderful.
On top of that, I was forced to unpublish the arc, losing the arc ID. I was at least happy to see I had a fairly recent backup of the arc that I was able to edit, fix, and re-publish. Again, resetting my decent rating to zero (and again, losing my double digit rating count -- second time on this arc).
So my question to any Dev that might stumble upon this thread... Is there any way to alert authors that a patch has rendered their arc invalid? It turns out I was using an animation that was removed and bam, dead arc. I use tons of animations! Sure, only about half of them work, but that's really something more I'm hoping will start working when you get it fixed, not kill my arc when you remove it. Even an automated e-mail saying one of our arcs have been effected would allow us to go and try it. Possible?
And since I'm here and back to zero, check out the arc in my sig... It's a RP heavy arc, good story, *sigh*... it's solable. Hopefully it will still be there -
My PM has already been sent, but I welcome everyone to take a peek at my arc!

Now Protector is missing! Anyone notice anything else new missing since the boards came back up?

Liberty is missing, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
We are still working to recover Protector and Liberty. Please be advised that these may not be back up until tomorrow.

So... Has anyone started a, "Rescue Protector and Liberty" arc yet? -
I love, Love, LOVE Issue 14. My biggest disappointment is the "no feedback" rating system. I don't blame the Devs for this, but I do see this as being a place for improvement. And by "no feedback" I mean letting people rate a mission without giving any why. Even a drop down list of half a dozen reasons for giving a low rating would be better.
Regardless, I'm having a blast! -
Arc Name: Nexus: Chapter One - Welcome to the Nexus
Arc ID: 59250
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: Nibb Nibb
Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis: (see below)
Estimated Time to Play: 25mins solo - 45mins large group (three missions, first used just for story telling)
My arc takes historic events and figures, a bit of story telling, and some unique twist to combine in a three part adventure perfect for a solo level 2 Defender on Heroic or an eight man team on Impossible!
I also mix optional content together with a straight forward storyline to suit both the speedsters who just want to see what happens next and those who want every bit of foreshadowing, extra plot for additional chapters (arcs), and hidden bosses. There are also moral questions where Heroes and Villains have the potential of playing their roles and discovering different information. My goal was to make the mission intriguing enough that if you wanted to do it twice, there was new details to learn from each pass.
Below is the opening text to the first mission. If it seems like something you might enjoy, please take a look at Arc 59250. Thanks!
"Hello. My name is Les McGriven, but you may call me Doctor McGriven. While I'm contacting you by this virtual console, let me assure you my offer is very real. I sit on the Nexus Council and I believe we can help each other. There is a painting that is about to be destroyed and we'd both rather that not happen. The problem is, it has already happened -- over 50 years ago.
Now, what if I told you we could save that painting? Not by reproduction or any such fluff, but to actually travel back to the point it was destroyed and take it. Bring it to the now where it could be appreciated.
If you are interested, walk into your fancy beam of light like normal... We'll do the rest. First we'll bring you to the Nexus. Gather the Asset Analyzer and then come back here. An easy enough first task, don't you think?" -
Talk about the anti-doom post of the decade. Dang, you name your company after your flagship game, you're planning on supporting it until the end of days!
Congrads! -
Well, SWG and AO had user created content too, but, well, it was unmentionable by comparison.
Excellent video this time around guys and gals. Doing my part to share it around! -
Ten-year old me thanks you and wonders if you know what to do with the wallets you collect as evidence.
