I could care less about "fatality" deaths. I want player characters to ragdoll when defeated just like NPCs do. Oh yeah!

Quote:winnar!!motorcycle (pool power)
1) (avail at l6) "place ramp" location targeted. Provides +jump.
2) (avail at l6) "leather jacket" toggle: Resist smashing/lethal
3) (avail at l14) "motorcycle" toggle: Superspeed, -jump unless place ramp is used.
4) (avail at l20, requires two other powers) "explosions!" -
Quote:Oh look, I see what you did there. You changed my words to prove a point. Except, in changing my words, you clearly changed the meaning entirely which does not prove your point at all. "He arrests and can go all stealthy" doesn't remotely sound like a stalker. Its like an entirely different sentence... that happens to be wrong."Or, you know, you can judge people by their actions. Hey look, he arrests and can go all stealthy. Not only does that say stalker, to me it screams villain."
Quote:Villains like, say, Moon Knight, Batman, The Shadow, Invisible Kid, Robin, and dozens of others. A Stalker using Martial Arts is no more likely to be killing his targets than a Scrapper using a Broad Sword. Certainly he'd have an easier time avoiding killing by not using a sword. The difference between killing and arresting is determined by the player. Game mechanic wise there is no difference.
Quote:Well then there's a lot of soldiers and police officers and mothers who simply aren't heroes because they ended up having to kill someone to save others, not matter how many lives were spared by their actions. Sucks to be them.
Quote:You're not forced to kill in CoX, not when meta powers are involved.
Quote:Apparently not according to the person i was replying to. i know full well that whether you call a defeat killing or not is usually left up to the player, but the poster i replied to was basically stating that Stalkers always kill. That, and only EEEEVIL people are stealthy. Neither of which is required by anything but their assumptions.
I have a friend who plays a character that is very anti-demon, anti-undead. He maintains that there are no good demons or undead. So forget what you've learned about vampires with souls from Buffy or sparkly non-human-killing vampires from Twilight, if you're playing a good vampire and bump into him, there is no way in hell you're going to roleplay or OOC change his character's mind about teaming with you. What actually IS the case and how others choose to perceive it will not always match up... nor should any given person be forced to fall in line with your perception of your character.
Deal with it. Move on. Find another team. -
Didn't anyone see that episode of Justice League Unlimited where Lex Luthor and Brainiac were merged as a single being? Right before Lex's transformation, Batman confronted him and was thrown out the window. When he tried using his Bat-grapple, the LexCorp building seemed grapple-proof.
Smooth surfaced buildings are a technological advancement that an intelligent archvillain should consider. Obviously, Emperor Cole isn't really that smart... but he does have smart people that work for him who probably advised it. -
Quote:Or, you know, you can judge people by their actions. Hey look, he kills and can go all stealthy. Not only does that say stalker, to me it screams villain. Yes, I firmly believe heroes don't kill... and if you're ever roleplaying with me, that aspect of being a hero is pretty much ingrained into all my heroes. Want to kill but still want to be heroic? Maybe you should move on to the vigilante alignment... or at least argue that you're of that mindset even if your alignment doesn't seem to match your behavior.I've always thought that the ATs were given to us in the game storyline as part of our |Hero Registration and/or Threat classification. Without going into details, 'someone' in an office somewhere says 'Hm, who've we got next...Ah, Indefatigable Man, and his powers are...ok, he's a Blaster. Next.' or similar.
Dimbulb in the OP could have RPed access to some sort of database that would have Angst-RiddenDemonHeroBoy listed as Stalker, and then said sth about all the other times he'd met Stalkers and they'd stuck katanas up his bottom from their hidign places in the shadows of BB or sth. -
The powers definitely need some tweaking, but the devs definitely need to look into this concept. I know I want it bad.

A monstrous beast booster should give us a new "Beastial" body model to choose from. It doesn't have to be different from what we have... just use the standard male (or give us two and make male and female versions) we have and have its default animations for running, walking, jumping, etc. look more animalistic. Maybe use the coralax animations as a standard?

I am very much in favor of some form of signature power creation. If signature characters can have signature powers, so should player characters.

I like the idea of freeing up names of a certain level after 90 days of account inactivity, but I think we need to expand it.
90 days and characters of level 6 or lower? How about the longer an account is inactive, make the minimum level of characters increased...
What about 6 months and characters of level 12 or lower become available? And after 12 months and characters of level 18 or lower? Maybe after 24 months characters of level 24 or lower get freed up? After 36 months and characters of level 30 or lower become available again.
I know some people will get touchy about higher level characters' names being taken away from them, but if someone hasn't played for over 3 years, maybe we should consider going even higher for accounts that have been inactive for 4 years or more. -
Beastmaster
We've got vicious animal-type critters already in the game. We just need a mastermind to tame them and train them.
Tier 1 pets could be rikti monkeys, tier 2 pets could be snakes, and tier 3 pet could be a big bad werewolf... just change the way they look so they don't look exactly like the NPC versions. When training them up, throw on spiked collars and/or harnesses.
Then take the new whip animations from demon summoning and change the flaming look of the whip to just a standard looking lash, have it to lethal damage... maybe have one of the attacks be something like "Crack The Whip" and include a fear effect in addition to damage. -

My only real homage character is a combination of the Phantom Stranger and Elliot Ness (Untouchables). Think 50s FBI guy (complete with Tommy Gun for blastering primary), but with the mental manipulation as his secondary to add that magical man of mystery aspect.
-
I want the aura, but what I really REALLY want is for the developers to acknowledge the problem and then fix it.
-
Oh, can we get new animations for the entire Fitness pool? I'm so bored with what we have right now.
-
But I WANT the aura mission. Ms Pacman, Donkey Kong Jr and Centipede can kiss off.
-
Oh yeah, we definitely need some new taunts. I think the "getsome" emote should be included as an alternate animation.
Now, for some other thoughts:
Medicine Pool -> Yes, I agree with EVERYONE else that we need alternate animations. They don't have to be origin themed, but we definitely need a non-tech alternative.
Speed Pool -> Flurry... I don't know if anyone has brought this up or not yet, but remember the old Martial Arts Thunder Kick (or was it Storm Kick?) animation where the attacker would be rooted and whip their leg around in several swift kicks? Can we bring that animation back as an alternate for Flurry? I miss that kick... I want that kick back. This seems to be the perfect place for it.
Flight -> Hover, can we please haz ghost hover animation back as an option? I really liked that brief time when we had it and would like to see it return... as much as some people want to go back to the old "head forward, arms back" flight pose for hover.
Claws -> all attacks... give us the option for open hands with talons as an option please. Not everyone wants blades coming out of the backs of our hands/wrists. -
Maybe I'll just wait... turn villain... get my auras redside, then come back.
-
Hey, why not? All the fun has been taken away from my defender since I'm not going to do that mission again and I don't feel remotely interested in playing the character without getting my aura.
Honestly, I don't care how good the new cape mission is... I would rather they just left the old one in place instead of screwing up the way the two missions are acquired with the new one. -
Quote:Definitely need some kicky action for Dark Melee... and while we're at it, throw some super strength kicks in for the Super Strength set. I loved getting more punchy with my scrappers when MA got punches, but now my punchy tanks are jealous and want some kicky love.Dark Melee (needs me some kicky Dark Melee)
Thunderstrike/Total Focus, and other animations like them: a non-jump-in-the-air animation
For Total Focus and other jump in the air attacks, how about substituting the new Super Strength Foot Stomp ground punch animation as an option?
Crossbows don't seem likely, but about crouching while firing our bows? Or maybe holding the bow sideways?
Quote:For Blast sets: animations that have the blast coming from the chest area
Quote:Elemental melee sword/no sword choices.
I want every one of my fire tank's attacks to use the fire scimitar.
I want every one of my ice melee tank's attacks to not use an ice sword.
Totally!! I love those animations but usually avoid taking those powers because of the downside associated with them. I also don't especially like the snipe animation because when it fires off, it looks like my character is punching himself in the head rather than having the arm snap up in some sort of recoil like motion. -
Quote:I pick and choose my battles, and I don't see the need to harp on something that other people already are. However, it doesn't seem like anyone else was really making an issue of this topic, so I took it under my wing and am nurturing it.I want your life, because if this is the issue you decided to take a stance on, the rest of it must be gravy!
For those willing to complete the mission for me, thanks... but I don't feel like having my characters respec'd out of their valuable enhancements, see their inf. emailed away, and have their vaults robbed of good/rare salvage.
But if you want to help, I'll log in and accept the mission, you can zone around the city to click on pointlessly distant NPCs, then run the final mission for me. And I'll give you a smile and a "thank you" for the effort... but continue to rant how unnecessary it is for completion of the cape mission to be a prerequisite for getting the aura mission. -
Isn't Tyrant considered magic?
Maybe magic isn't as prevalent in Praetoria because he's tried hoarding it all. -
Quote:I have no problem with AE... at all. I may have a problem with the way some people use it, but not AE itself. But that's not even remotely connected to the issue.Exploiting the player?!? Really? That's what you are going with? Those two examples have not one thing in common with one another. What, you still burning about the AE issues after i14?

Quote:Also, the word you are looking for is ridiculous! There is NO "e" in that word. Never has been. Unless, you meant that you are being "diculous" again, which I might agree with. -
Its funny, when someone finds an exploit, its all hush-hush while they rush to fix it... and anyone that takes advantage of the exploit in the meantime is subject to punishment. But when they do something wrong that only exploits the player, just tell the players to enjoy it because its new content.
Whoop-de-freakin'-doo. I did do the new mission content already on other characters. So having to do it again on a character I shouldn't need to is rediculous.
Especially when I have older characters that have auras and no cape. That's right, before the new content, you didn't have to complete the cape mission to get to the auras... you only had to be eligible (level requirement). So why is it that now after this new content is in place, the aura mission is dependant also on completing the cape mission first?
