  1. New Dawn

    Brand new to CoH

I would start every AT as a beginner and alternate them until say level 20 before picking a main. You can get an idea on how others play their archetypes from different perspectives and come up with an idea on how all yours would theoretically work together. You would also of not gone too far without the opportunity of seeing what other opportunities could be had if you went with different powerset.
  2. I think that once you've got the accolades for +hp and established perma hoarfrost (especially with your slow resists) you can start aiming for bonuses other than +hp. You could cap yourself all the time with the accolades and perma + hp and think of slotting in other ways.
  3. So your offering team invites to those who are in other sgs?
  4. New Dawn

    No more toys!

I expect people to come up with new content and fix bugs. If there is a problem with fitting in both then there is a problem with what is most likely, staffing levels. Some things however could be our end or that the servers are in the bermuda triangle of the internets run on hamster energy.

Every issue comes with content that doesn't do enough to satisfy someone and usually its about the issue say having more for heroes than villains or something, there is only so long some people can wait before they feel that there is something new that means more fun for them.
  5. Could of been anyone, we need to enter the vine field a little further behind next time.
  6. Assault would help survivability through -fight duration and your dam per end will remain viable for its toggle use but only for as long as your hitting something so really "teamed" or "PvP burst" would it suit me if not for the mezz resistances.

Fight pool can cut down on the use of Dark Regen which is really where the end disappears for many people. I would hope there are two end slots in DR.

When it comes to toggles you don't have to run them all at once. Look at the damage type and levels of that your taking. Some will work better without others on in some cases anyway and ofc between fights you could turn something off for extra end recovery.

Most of the end drain during the fight duration comes from the attack chain so as and where possible you could end slot. Sometimes AoEs are better with a rechg instead of an end slot, sometimes because theyre for minions anyway an end red instead of a second acc is good. Perhaps if your using a AoE be it a cone or 360 on a single target it can make sense to 2 end slot it and 2 dam slot it with IOs.

They're best analyzed during a fight duration in order to know where savings and recoveries can be made. If your running Death Shroud once you are fighting less than 4 it could pay to turn it off as the dpe is bad.

So many ways to think and play with DA.
  7. Remember me saying that if they are level 30 IOs then the slotting is fine? (Well you can just scroll up anyway). Well for another thing if theyre not lvl 30 but instead lvl 50 then you could do it noticeably cheaper for unnoticeable difference ie:

That was with your last build which means more inf for sets etc, obviously you could have 30s, 35s, 40s and 45s but I "sometimes" rather sell them recipes for the inf than make them myself or look to buy cheaper where a badger has made them for invention badges and needs to flog them.

In the last build you've removed hasten which means you don't have the 15e crash to worry about but it also means that you can find less slots to reduce end use in powers also. Either way its neither here or there as with most anything, to have or not to have remains a question.

Entangling Arrow for soloing would keep enemies at range, not only that you can hold one back and break line of sight with it so that they can't range shot you whilst dealing with another. Ice Arrow does similar but versus 3 white cons you could hold one, break line of sight with one and deal with one. Range attacks are less damaging than melee in more than one way also, so holding enemies to range attacks is mitigating damage.

When it comes to AVs a Firetank can think "In melee its Lethal and of 1.5 X amount of damage but at Range its Energy and 1 X amount of damage. The ability to, at times back off at range and keep aggro control can be helpful to take less DPS till Healing Flames has recharged or to simply tank for a more easily handled damage type or due to an AVs attacks, attack rate/lower DPS. I know its likely a controller or blaster can immob but as said first its also useful solo. The first 2 builds were better in my eyes because there I could think "It doesn't matter what AV it is. It doesn't matter what tank I am playing with the fact that you can immob/-fly I can have the flexibility of not only keeping myself alive but better still, the whole team with just you for support." By and large I can do it with or without a defender or controller anyway, often I could do it with no one present but squishy blasters and often you will be teamed with some tank who doesn't know how to take less of X or keep X amount of damage from hitting the team and needs another controller/defender there or there is one anyway, and thankfully so because people put their squishies in the worst possible positions to tempt fate anyway. But for me the EA is good solo or teamed and better than one of the attacks.

On my soloable build I can hold one target, either break line of sight one target or hold at range with the immob and stun a target with stunning shot. I do have the snipe but I don't have aimed shot. I can afford to take my time more or often miss with some control. Better to live I say than have to go hosp when solo.

As a TA its nice to believe that I can give people choices or have the best of them, whether or not they utilize them though is down to them.

Regarding PvP - Intangibility is one of the lesser resisted mezzes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I figured that putting Tanks out of action can lead to open holes in PvP teams.
  9. New Dawn

    No more toys!

All bugs shouldn't of existed with past issues. Using up an issue to fix issues is a loss of an issue. We pay subscriptions for new issues and customer care. Clearing up old bugs is just customer care besides the development of I15 is already started.

    C) Atlas becoming the new farm central and exacrebated teaming issues aren't good. But. Let's face it, there ALWAYS was a problem of people sending "wanna join" tell w/o dertails, and people not using/reading search comments.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah I was on one of my 50s today and someone asked if I wanted to farm. I had to ask "What type of farm?" and he said one of XP goodness. I declined cos he was clearly an idiot.
  11. I don't know what you are doing. It's more about team variation, enemy variation, map variation, time to update build than speed. You can go 1 - 50 on 1 map without defeating anything using the MA.
  12. If you are leveling up fast due to MA farm missions, then that; along with custom made enemies; plus team mates who are leveling up fast and perhaps aren't all that with their builds; both play and slot wise; then versus enemies, say 50 (whom you maybe automatically sidekicked up to 49 against) will most likely give you some problems.

There are reasons people take the time to level slow, do so many maps, so many enemies, one can notice someone whose 50 and yet to discover their characters to the extent that other 50s might. People teamed in PuGs doing the harder content could later become a bit fussed for not getting the staff.

This is most prominent on the Union Server.
  13. No Active Defense is no Mezz protection and no Mezz protection can mean suppressed armours. No one can from your post understand which of the myriad of things could be going wrong, I would suggest we either see your build or preferably see you play and who you play with and the content you do. For all anyone knows it could be lack of active defense that is the problem.
  14. I'd be well interested in a Psionic Blade/Psionic Armour Stalker...that is al...wait.. Ice/Cold Controllers..Pirate/Ectoplasm Masterminds and Trap Control/Assault Rifle Dominators....A new AT that does Melee/Range Single Target DPS Damage (only for balance) with Armours in both Primary and Secondary so I can get a MA/Archery Scrapper despite Archery/MA being sort of possible, Sorcery, oh and a Care Bear Stare Powerset.

The Romans had soldiers from all over the empire.

    St. George was from Turkey.

    The dragon was Welsh

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Dragon is probably just a metaphor/term to simplify yet glamourize a story. The beast that's slain could be anyone or number of people who are part of some evil religious cult. One way or another their flame was put out. St George represents a hero whose true story remains not fully known or as is said only known to God which kind of honours all those not remembered for good deeds they have done.
  16. So a Roman soldier born in Nicomedia, Turkey. Born of another Roman soldier also born in Turkey. Didn't the Romans have Turkish Soldiers?
  17. No subscription must mean heavy marketing costs and huge risk in the process. Guild Wars has possibly pulled something off thats not always worth trying and so subscription route is somewhat safest.

I wouldnt subscribe to a game like GW so for me its a good thing there is no subscription fee. Its a game I would play when I need a break from this one as I do.
  18. Stalkers threat level is 2, with Hide on or off. With Superspeed on:

Whilst not attacking or being attacked:

    Threat Level 1
    Base +2
    Superspeed -1

    Whilst attacking or being attacked:

    Threat Level 2
    Base +2
    Superspeed -1

    Suppresses the same way.
  19. Read the combat attributes, it should suppress the moment you attack or are being attacked and therefore not count. You may be threat level -1 doing nothing but the moment you're noticed and whilst you stay noticed you should be back to normal threat level.

Whilst not attacking or being attacked:

    Threat Level 3
    Base +4
    Superspeed -1

    Whilst attacking or being attacked:

    Threat Level 4
    Base +4
    Superspeed -1

    See the difference?
  20. That should suppress the moment you attack or are attacked. For initial perception reasons it can help to turn it off but then for getting to mobs with minimal fight duration to self it can help to have it on much like Darks cloak.
  21. It looks incomplete, particularly missing focus chi, Aid Self should be seriously unreliable without interrupts.
  22. Usually only if you are punchvoking too can you steal from another brute.

Taunt alone won't necessarily steal from a brute using punchvoke as their threat level could be higher than yours, their damage and your range.

If you and they are both in melee then you should win using taunt as an additive between attacks.

When it comes to many brutes its a battle of auras + taunt + punchvoke, WP alone lacks duration.

You can simply leave the first group somewhere midfight and get ahead just enough to have the team get to you in time for possible needs of support, then you leave them to clean up as you go for the next group but do not leave too early or you may need that self res. Often with other corrupters shields you can be pretty safe to keep setting up fighting points doing a bit and moving on.
  23. For pve I have foc acc on my claws/sr but its not constantly running as constantly on is a bit wasteful. Sometimes I can hit a less defensive minion with follow up and sometimes I can't so it's an off, on, thing. At times between targets I wish I had a rechg in it, sometimes the time from one group to whatevers around the corner can be too short.
  24. You would probably have to work out the DPS of each one and then add them together to work out the total DPS for the endurance cost. I'd say how you use them and how much life you get out of them matters. What buffs they receive should be taken into account. If you can afford some damage then why not I think but that's without calculating what each one can do.
  25. I'd like to see this with my AR/Dev New Dawn.
