Good stuff but a small correction to the Master STF. You can also use the purchasable Jet Pack in Master runs, as it doesn't grey out. Perhaps not the most useful temp for that task, but there we are.
There used to be a "bug" in Arena where you could queue up Warburg nukes during the countdown to buff the group, heh.
There is still an underground Dev office in the Fab. To get there, you'll need to take the kinda sloping entrance into the Fab (Where the Arachnos Fliers are for various missions) and meander through the passages. At some point you'll see small sections like this:
=====] [
#
#
#
Heh. Anyway, the "=" signs look like lockers and they have a little gap in there a character can slip through. Just squeeze through them until you find the dilapidated office, replete with desks, whiteboard, disused computers and an iron maiden (Oh there are some high level Arachnoids there too, careful!)
- You can cage the Arachnos Flier in STF, towers too IIRC.
- Lost Savior was once available to villains! You needed a hero with the "Craft Lost Wand" mission queued, head to Rikti War Zone, invite a villain friend and craft the wand. Then, autocomplete the Defeat 20 Lost mission and both of you would get the badge.
- The Hive was replete with map holes in the day. Some creative individuals went under the map and used Snow Storm to drag GMs into the bowl at opportune moments.
- The face of Ruladak is etched into various stone structures in the Shard.
- Rularuu mobs are great sources of arcane salvage and occasional purples, if you're up for the trip there.
- St. Elegius Hospital in Dark Astoria is a nod to a hugely popular television show, but oddly enough no children in Dark Astoria will speak of it.
- If you get 1,000 temporal points in Recluse's Victory before the zone shifts, you get a hefty Longbow or Arachnos Mech, one use temp.
- Used to be a bug during Hami raids that an exemplared character would produce a higher level Hami. You could replicate this villainside (prior to Hami raids) by clicking your reward menu in Warburg to produce 52 Hamis.
- The Cavern Trial in the Hollows can be completed in under 15 minutes and rewards with a Pool B drop. So, habitually, does David Wincott's arc in Hollows.
- Even if you have no arc slots open, you can still get Viridian's arc in Ouroboros if you have all the necesary badges. Fun one too.
- You can unlock Rularuu weapons:
Heroside: Complete a shard Task Force or destroy 100 Overseers
Villainside: Complete Naylor's "Bravo for the Shadow Shard" (?) arc (or is it "Last Stand at Mole Point Bravo") or get Efficiency Expert Pither's mission to rescure Olivia Darque, set it to +6 or so and spawn Overseers the 'hard' way.
- Completing Ernesto Hess TF unlocks the "em dice7" emote.
- Getting the Outlaw badge redside unlocks the em ListenStolenPoliceBand, which brings up the hero police scanner. -
I'd rather ties personally, up to captains/leaders I guess.

Just listed these blueside:
Numina triple (34)
Gift of the Ancients: 7.5% runspeed (34)
Time and Space: +Stealth (34)
Pacing of the Turle triple (34)
Force Feedback: Knockback/Accuracy (30)
Hope those can help someone out -
Quote:I've been throwing out random Pool C and Pool A off my Spine/Dark, all between levels 30-34. I'll bust out his 100 Merits into Pool C rolls, craft and sell today. That works at getting Pool A stuff on the market.
It does nothing for the Pool B or C. Hence the level locking concept and random rolling Pool Cs
So far I've put on the Market:
Two Steadfast: Res/DEF
Gaussian's: Chance for Build Up (30)
Ghost Widow's triple (30)
Crushing Impacts and Thunderstrikes as well.
Do you guys mind level 34 recipes or would 35 be better? I'm at present generating ticket cap in a play session or three so...whichever is needed. :-) -
Unsure.
If I see a ton of new content with a good chunk dedicated to level 50 play, some great storylines and challenging missions, I likely will pre-order for two people. I really need more information though; right now we've seen some great teases for Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning and a little of Praetoria but...really need some meat to the previews.
A big factor will be whether I can get a code to gift to a friend. If so, that will be a huge swing in whether or not I pre-order. -
Set it back to Issue 12 rules for the most part. At least give us an Issue 12 toggle for Arena where we'll have No Travel Suppression, no Heal Decay, the old Mez system and none of the crazy damage by activation stuff...or at least not a primarily damage per activation system.
Oh, and get rid of global resists.
That would be a huge first step in the right direction. Fixing the Placate Proc would be swell too... -
Jupiter's going to blow up and Europa is going to spawn a new civilization, how will we ever going to be ready/cope? And HAL keeps singing "Daisy Daisy"...
Happy new year! -
I sent my info to Dazz, have an awesome costume/emote macro/setup for the occasion, hope to see everyone there in a few weeks!
-
kk add me to the meatgrinder.
Send me the form and I'll fill it out sometime when things aren't crazy. -
Hydra
Sit at the bottom of a sewer and wait for unsuspecting people to start the trial, then WEEEBOOOOOO them with Psi Tornado and launch Kraken out of them.
Every now and then a competent team will win, but them's the breaks. -
I didn't read the whole thread but does Spine/Dark Armor have any hope of mowing down vast amount of mobs in a non-specialized arena (I'm thinking just plowing through Dark Astoria, missions set to +3 players +2 level, etc)?
Also, what APP do people like for their farming Scrappers? -
Quote:There's not much long-term tourneys going but there are tons and tons of kickballs, 1 v 1s, zone brawls etc. etc.Aww. So no tourneys? like 5v5s tourneys and what not?
Ah well. I'll still join just for the PvP aspect.
You'll find something you'll like and tuning AC is worth it just to hear blackbarrier sparring with anyone on a given day. -
Quote:Yeah, basically I've always tried to help people out with builds etc when asked. The PvP pop is small enough as is that you can't really afford to turn too many people away.If I'm around and able to play on random Friday evenings, I'll make it a point to stop in and make a feeble attempt to kill some of you. Much as I detest pvp, I've been trying to get into it because the folks I've run into pvping have been pretty nice. Sorta turning my opinion about it a little.
It's a lot 'easier' to get kills now with the movement/heal suppression thing going too.
Quote:For the record...if you get tagged with a random fire blast out of nowhere, it's because I hit Tab and an attack button....nothing personal
Guess the days of nuke rushing buffing teams are long, long gone. -
Quote:I moved my Rad/Therm Corr to Freedom just so I'd have a toon on each side there. Undecided on the rest of my heroes.Who intends to leave, where do you plan on going, and who intends to stay?
I love this community but the population drop too has made me consider moving to another server.
I'm not 100% sure, speaking this over with the 3 RL friends that still play
I'm just curious if others plan on making the leap to a specific server, cause you're all great people
Quote:Question for everyone on this statement: Why not just strip and delete?
If they hadn't nerfed the crap out of AE I actually would have given this more pause and not moved stuff. But now that I can't get a 50 in under 2-3 hours (much, some maps/circumstances aside) then there's really no reason to delete anything over level 30ish or so.
Quote:I've officially transferred my MA/regen to freedom. Up next are going to be my thugs/dark MM, my Sonic/NRG blaster, my rad/nrg blaster and NRG/NRG stalker.
I'm probably going to re roll a brand new farm toon for there. With all that, it's mainly for PvP. THe rest of my toons are staying put here. Pinnacle is home. Freedom is for PvP.
I'm keeping a few "for laughs" toons on Pinnacle just for fun PvP and keeping those attached to my SG/PvE groups...which I still have lots of fun with. -
Quote:Not disputing this as I rarely play on Jusitce, but seriously, unless you have strong emotional ties to a sg/friends/etc just roll an alt on Freedom or transfer someone there.like i said, freedumb is filled with noobs ever since the AE epidemic, plus all the good players are in justice
If you're as many others, you can meld in with the 324535341213984 other Fire/Regen or Katana/Regen or Rp/Catgirls.
If you're half-decent or practiced you'll find game on Freedom too.
Just hop over and cut loose.
Logged into RV at 2 p.m. today on a lunch break and there were like 2-3 villain teams and a sea of heroes.
Crazy. -
Quote:Sweet, that'll make two of them with mine, it should be ready soon enough. =)I don't have a solo fighter but for FFA I may as well bring my Annoyance Generator
Ill/TA and yes it is THAT annoying
I'll show up whenever, just holler in the Pinnacle PvP League channel when stuff is going on. -

I miss the old ladders -
ECE is an awesome field. One of my best friends in the day took that and she found it very rewarding and a great learning experience, as well as a test of patience.
I hear you on the changes. My sub's on auto-renew but I find myself logging in less and less myself. Waiting until March/April for a bunch of new missions.CoH is still fun because of the people, mostly. Not finding myself getting motivated to purp out more toons.
Agreed on Aion, it's lots of fun so far but to be fair I'm only level 10 heh. Game looks great though.
Take care Dread, see you around. -
A SG would be interesting, but I'm mostly posting to see if you still are purchasing Merit rolls. My Warshade, The Casual Player (SG Your Markettears they are delicious on Triumph) is getting close to a third roll at level 18. Did you want these rolls to be "30" or "35" or a specific level?
I'll help in whichever way I can...(padding this new sg, etc). -
I got AIon today...if I can figure out how to install and launch I'll make a character on Triniel (with my dUmb pvp teamies from Infinity) and one in Israphel too.
<---- total luddite to video games heh -
Quote:Kind of. I saw a lot of purpled out people still get farmed quickly because they didn't have an escape, evade properly, etc.I really hate the new pvp but I see what the devs were trying to do and why. Under the old system given two equal players the better build won. Not by a little but by an enormous amount. You toss in the fact that the existing player base had an enormous skill advantage as well, that gave little chance for newbies to go through the learning curve.
Newbies always had a chance to go through the learning curve. There were a bunch of PvP SGs/VGs when the training room was rolling. Some of them, like Awesome Avengers, made a point of taking new players to teach them the ropes (I miss Healing Hank drinking and his telling stories). Sure, a lot of us were bad (and still are) but the vets always answered questions about builds, chains, etc. The information and help was always out there. Also, there were Friday kickballs as well for people to get their feet wet.
Quote:You add in the fact that the only efficient way to IO out a character is the market and many people do not like the market to begin with, the devs were left with tough choices. Either they could increase high end IO drop rates to the point where they were trivial to obtain or they could wipe out their value in pvp. They failed at wiping out the value of a good build just changed what is a good build.
My own feeling was they should have used the multi build feature to have a pvp build that you could IO out however you wanted. It would only be available in pvp zones and would level the playing field. The difference would bring pvp into an indycar type of feel where the driver is the only difference
The IOd as you wish pvp build would have been great, though. We had been asking for an Accolade/build Booster etc for some time, just so we could save some PvE time and just get rolling.
As for the OP's question, they just aren't dropping enough to make a difference that will entice people to PvP. Being on Freedom 2-3 times a week for kickballs, 6 people teams...about 10-17 kills per team (35-40 kills), times 4-5 matches that's about 200 kills or so and rarely does someone pipe up about getting an IO.
At this point you're PvPing just because you like the flawed system and you don't want the few that are left (as great or not as they are) to leave for another game, thus killing PvP entirely. -
At least this scenario didn't materialize for you as it did for me.
In the first kill all, a player says they are going to dinner and just leaves. My no-damage bubbler and the remaining player slog through the mission; the player comes back 20 minutes later and says "Logging, not gaining xp."
We just disbanded at that point
Anyway, you weren't wrong. It's ok to take food breaks but if you commit to a TF make sure you can be there to help...
