Quote:I too wouldn't mind gates applying to everyone, but even so, some will seek a way to crash the gate anyway.I realize the Universe is not going to come to an end just because some people got something a week earlier than they should have in a MMO. Heck, due to one of the bugs I mentioned earlier even I got a Very Rare Alpha slotted last night.
I just continue to find it mildly annoying that the game tries to create these "gates" based on real world times and then lets so many exceptions/bugs happen to render those gates effectively meaningless for lots of people. It's happened in a number of other situations over the years so this is hardly the first time it's come up.
Like them or not gates like this in games should strictly apply to EVERYONE, period. It raises the very legitimate question that if they always have these "leaks" with so many people then why should the Devs even try to use time gates on anything? I know there are people who think I make too much out of this issue but once again I'll just ask the basic question: is it really too hard for the game to follow its own rules? Is that really too much to ask for from a game like this? Apparently it is. *shrugs*
Also, I can only guess how many lines of code are involved with the incarnate rewards and weekly notice rewards, who knows where in that code the bug may be? If its even in that code section and not elsewhere. -

Me too. Funny thing was I didn't even notice the extra Notice until I rechecked and saw my badge hunters had no progress at first on the support badges, then I checked salvage and said "Woah". Bug report filed of course, but I sure wasn't going to delete the extra salvage.
Don't see a week early on the tier 4 as game breaking anyway. -
First: Gratz to Beefcake and the others that got it. I'll have to wrap it this week as RL hit me with some speed bumps last week.
Second: I still say 50 is a bit much no matter how fast some of us are wrapping this set.
Third: We need no more of these badges. -
Quote:Prolly not. the advanced preview of FF#588 shows them already talking about Johnny being dead. So the whole issue will probably show the rest of the family mourning and lead in to the decision to start the future foundation. and the last page of the "3" comic is an all black background with the "3" symbol dead center, and the tag reading "The Last Stand of Johnny Storm". so the death is implied, but this is comics, no body means they probably aren't dead. a body means they area dead, but if you're an A-lister hero/villain, you'll eventually come back.
That "death scene" for Johnny really was open ended. Its more likely that Annihilus will imprison Johnny to try to learn any secrets he may know about Reed's negative zone portal tech. -
Quote:I suspected it would be Johnny for two reasons:Is Spider-Man the new Wolverine? He seems to be in every book now. (Although, him taking over from the Torch seems natural, I called it way back when they announced one of the FF was going to die, I couldn't have been the only one).
1. As I recall, with the exception of Onslaught/Heroes Reborn/Return he hasn't "perished" and returned, Reed was presumed killed when Doom appeared to destruct and take them both. Sue I believe was presumed killed at least once, and Ben was killed and brought back. Can't recall any such incidents with Johnny.
2. As part of the Marvel 70th Anniversary, the original Android Human Torch was rebuilt and reactivated, and his old partner Toro was revived from the grave also. -
Quote:Excellent. Now removing the event from "to do" list. Incarnation, away!actually you can still ignore the guns, they didnt change it to a glowy, just an object you have to click on, kind of like a contact, except that the thing instantly destroys (thus causing a bit of lag if you were the one clicking on it), or it would tell you that you were wrong alignment
and i also ran the snaptooth mish once as well, and the reward table doesnt have any new badges on it either, so there is nothing new with this event then (except the minor changes made to the mishs and mish text) -
-
-
Quote:The description they gave about the event sounded like it was same as before, so I'd guess nothing new is added.as per the title says, i havent seen or heard anything about the spring event till i logged in and got the popup saying scratch needs help blah blah blah
were there any new badges with this or can i just ignore it and go about my usual business?
Kinda hoping there isn't. I'm too focused on incarnation. -
Quote:Khan wanted a planet to rule and Kirk gave him an opportunity to do so on a harsh, frontier planet. They had no way to leave and no way to signal for help, so exactly what could Khan do after Ceti Alpha 6 exploded? He tried to make the best of it for himself and his people. It wasn't as if they had the materials to create a subspace radio and signal for help.I didn't enjoy that comic at all, what was Khan's motivation after getting marooned on that planet? Sit around and act like a hippy until everything was taken away from him and then the only thing he could do was blame Kirk.
I sympathized with the Augments that tried to overthrow Khan more then I cared about what Khan was up to or thinking.
In TOS and ST:WoK Khan is a resourceful and superior intellect. He was neither of those things in that comic. -
Quote:Nope, Khan was completely twisted by the need for revenge. Good thing Kirk's superior experience trumped Khan's superior intelligence.Well except for the "they would forgive him for it" part (Kahn wasn't big on forgiving - especally when spitting on you from hell's heart
) Kirk's greatest nemisis possesed those same traits.

I understand that they wanted all AT's to have some use in Cuda, hence only lolstalkers can enter the laser room prior to GR.
How about tweaking it so that all AT's get the power to remove Bison/Reichsman's unstoppable power, thus removing dependence on MM/Defenders or being shafted if said character on team disconnects and can't return? -
I chalk up Man Ape as being a product of the times. Last time I saw him was when the regular West Coast Avengers series started all those years ago.

Quote:McCoy being killed and revived ranks up there with the Deus Ex Machina death/rebirth of Scotty by Nomad.Of course this just puts them on par with the other non-red shirt wearing members of the crew. I mean Spock had his brain removed and McCoy actually managed to get himself killed on the shore leave planet of all places. Chekov got a mind-controlling worm in the ear and Sulu went running around the ship shirtless waving a sword around.
Spock's Brain.....we do not discuss that episode.
The fact that Chekov survived that thing in his ear when all others didn't.....ah the power of being a main character.
Ah just remembered for those that are interested: they just wrapped a comic miniseries titled KHAN: Ruling in H---. It shows how they setup after being left by Kirk, how things were at first, how they observed the destruction of Ceti Alpha 6 in their telescopes, the unrest among them and of course what Khan did about it all. Fun read. -
Or give us a temp power that lets us turn into a giant so that we can fight Giant Monsters like the Kronos Titan. What's the old saying? "Pick on someone your own size!"

Quote:Well at least it gave Nimoy a last shot at being Spock so that he could retire.Yeah, I'd say all of the listed movies were better than the new Trek. Oh, the new movie was very pretty and had some decent acting but the story was badly written.
As for this time-warp reboot that changed the Trek universe, the only possible way I can see undoing it and restoring the time would involve the Guardian of Forever. Perhaps a sequel could show that the alteration to the time stream has had bad effects on the universe or some such and that they need to restore the timeline. -

Quote:Lowbies still get the reward merits and completion badge if they don't already have it.That's right. So there's something for the Incarnates and something for the lowbies. Everyone should be happy.
Incarnates get the merits, the badge if they don't have it yet, and the Notice of the Well.
Of course, look on the bright side: they could say that Dr Q TF is a Weekly Task Force.... -
Quote:Trek 2, 3, 4, 6 and First Contact weren't extended episodes. The rest of the "movies" on the other hand were.I loved the new Trek movie. My only thought is, why didn't they ever put that much effort into the other Trek Movies?
If that much effort was put into the other Trek movies, as they put into the latest one, they would of been box office gold like the last one.
People aren't tired of Trek, they just didn't want to see a 90min-120min TV episode. -
Quote:Or I can see now people making Beast costumes and then shifting from human to beast mode while yelling "MAXIMIZE" or "TERRORIZE".Thunder..
Thunder....
Thunder......
THUNDERCATS... Hooooo!
Looks good.
As nice as this pack is, and it is nice....I think I'll give it a pass for now. -
Quote:I've been hosting speed runs of Khan, with anywhere between zero and five shards per run. I suspect a better shard payout would be the Cuda SF due to the nigh endless ambushes in the last mission.I did one Khan TF and got ZERO shards (1:18:xx), the next Khan I got 2 shards.
Rather stick with Khan though, faster completion times and I and the others on the team are out to get the Notice of the Well and end of TF incarnate reward.
LGTF and ITF will be the shard farms -
Works for me. The Trek franchise is out of dylthium crystals anyway and needs to be shut down, imo.

Quote:Haven't read Trek books in awhile, also they aren't canon and the Shatner novels were relegated to the "shatnerverse" of books so that other authors didn't have to acknowledge Kirk was back.Well if you're talking canon, as in what the TV shows showed...
Spock, Scotty and Bones are all alive in TNG.
Bones was in the very first episode of TNG, and I don't recall it ever saying he died in the show.
Now if we go into the books...Kirk (came back from that death in Generations), Scotty, Spock, Bones were all alive last time I checked in the TNG (not sure if the books got cancelled after the new movie...it's been awhile since I read Star Trek).
Admiral McCoy was only seen in the first TNG episode and was never mentioned again, but given that DeForrest Kelley is gone I'd say so is McCoy.
