Just to sing the praises of the proc some more, I was on an ITF last night with nothing slotted but a few sets of Reactive Armor and 3 +end procs. Nothing in my attacks, nothing in leadership, nothing in my cloak of darkness. I won't say I was smooth sailing, but with some judicious toggle management I was able to get through the whole thing without any serious endurance problems!
-
This has happened to me a couple of times. It seems to only effect me on the BAF when I'm using powers like Shield Charge and Lightning Rod. I would try to target myself next to a group of enemies guarding a containment chamber. The reticule would just be red and I would be unable to use the power unless I cancel the targeting, move, and try again.

Just thought about a double rage, FE pumped KO blow crit. -
All this does is make me want to roll a Thugs/Thermal.
Though Thugs/Sonic could theme pretty well as a rock and roll band/mosh mob.
Really I'd hope the devs would have given MMs something different from a set we already have. We already have bubble sets in Thermal and Force Fields. This kinda makes Sonic a bit superfluous. Maybe I'm just being wishful, but I really would have liked /Rad or /Kin. But as I understand it, they are in the works, or at least planned for some time down the road.
Saving the best for last, I guess. -
Don't talk to me about Stalkers getting Ice Armor. My Scrapper is still crying for Super Strength.
-
the 1 thing I wanted isn't there, but I can't let my self-interests overshadow this big ball of awesome.

Here's an S/L softcapped Fire/Kin with Perma Hasten assuming you're running 1 Siphon Speed. For incarnate I'd go for Spiritual Alpha/Reactive Radial/Barrier Core/Pyronic Radial/Whatever Lore

Why yes. Yes I would play a /kin Mastermind.
-
I once considered making a /WP brute that had Quick Recovery, Stamina, Physical Perfection and Superior Conditioning, each slotted to the ED cap and the +end proc. After that I was gonna give him tons of +HP. The idea was that he was able to run everything, all the time without either bar moving from full, or damn near it.
One great thing about the +end proc that people often don't mention or realize is that it gives you an infusion of 10% of your current endurance. That means the more endurance you have, the better the proc is. -
Hi there! I can advise you on SS/Fire.
You want Punch, Haymaker, KO Blow, Footstomp, any PPP ST attack, any PPP AoE (two if your patron has it), Fiery Embrace, Burn and Blazing Aura. As for inspirations... anything that drops!
And Spines doesn't exist on Brutes so GL with that! :P -
I have Ion on my brute. It's good but it has a couple of problems the others don't:
If the initial target dies on the first contact, your chain dies before it has the chance to do anything
The long animation sometimes led to me corpse blasting when a teammate, and sometimes even my own damage aura, killed my target. Again, that prevents the chaining from going off. -
For /DA I usually shoot for 45% S/L and around 32-35% E/NE. Throw as many Perf. Shifter procs as you can fit and the theft of essence proc in Dark Regen and you're set. Unfortunately I've found it's pretty difficult to slot recharge at that point thanks to needing your attacks to fill with Kinetic Combats and Eradication/Cleaving Blow. I would try to compensate with lots of LotG procs, Ageless and Hasten. Maybe if you had purples you could make something happen. This is a build I'm working towards on Live right now that represents my basic approach towards /DA.

I have 2 on my /DA scrapper and it has an amazing effect at keeping me full. All the time. I say the more you can fit, the better.

Here's a cheapo build a threw together a while back. Currently running this on live and it's damn tough

(use the tips below to afford those LoTGs and the miracle/numi) For incarnate I'd go Reactive Radial, Cardiac Alpha and Ageless Destiny.
The best advice I can give you is:
-The Dos and Don'ts of IO'ing a character-
Don't buy any crafted enhancement.
Don't buy the item you are looking at for the "buy is nao!" price.
Don't buy uncommon or rare salvage on the Market. (unless it's super cheap)
Don't buy on Friday, Saturday or Sunday (crazy inflation)
----------
Do buy Recipes and craft them yourself at the university. Recipes often go for half, and often even far less than half, of a crafted enhancement.
Do Bid for slightly less than the going price and wait. I think it's Fulmen's sig that says "If you didn't let your bid sit for 24 hours, you didn't actually try to buy anything."
Do check salvage prices before you buy! Some items are cheap, some are not. Just because circuit boards are going for 500,000, doesn't mean they are actually worth that much. It probably means people are screwing with the markets, or the "buy it nao" crowd are driving up the prices.
Do buy all/most expensive salvage with AE tickets. I can point you towards some great maps for AE ticket farming if you want. You will save hundreds of millions doing this. Go to AE and spend 8 tickets on a random roll for your commons. I think it's 80 tickets for an uncommon and those aren't random. You can choose exactly what you want. Rares go for 540 AE tickets, but again, you can choose exactly what you want.
Do look for recipes at off levels. If the level 50 recipe is going for 20mill maybe the level 43 is going for 3mill. The difference in enhancement value is negligible, but the savings are great. Lower level enhancements also have vastly cheaper crafting cost.
Do use Alignment merits to but the super-expensive items like LOTG. For twenty minutes a day you can run 5 tip missions. Do 5 today, 5+ the alignment mission tommorow, and you get an A-merit. If you're really serious you can run multiple characters a day to multiply your rate. A LoTG 7.5 costs 2 merits. So you can get one in less than a week. Run 2 characters and you can have 2 in a week!
----------
Quick money making tips:
The easiest way to make money for a beginner is to farm AE tickets, do random bronze recipe rolls, learn what's valuable, craft it, and sell the crafted enhancement. It doesn't take a lot of time and you can fund your entire build this way.
Use the A-merit tip from above to get some of the great 1 merit wonders. The Kinetic Combats that only cost 1 merit sell for >100m crafted.
Buy two of every recipe you are looking for. Craft them both, slot one, sell the other for big profit.
Head over to the market forums and ask for some friendly advice on marketeering.
"Work" an item. For a while about a year back I was getting in the habit of buying Obliteration triples, crafting them, and selling them for about double what I paid. I capped a character's influence doing that.
Hope that helps some! -
Hey everyone. I've updated the mission yet again to help bring further improvements.
1. I've changed the enemies to DB instead of Fiery Melee.
Reason: I felt that pretty much any melee character is going to have access to S/L Resistance or Defense early on, but none but FA get any appreciable Resistance to Fire by level 8. Even those that do would need to waste a power pick on another toggle shield, instead of on something more important like hasten or an AoE attack. I felt that I wanted to make the map as accessible as possible to every secondary, so I no longer favor FA on this mish. Note: SR and Shield probably won't notice any difference since their defense is positional. *edit* I've given the mobs stronger, but much slower recharging attacks. Basically I've given the minions and LTs Sweeping Strike instead of Nimble Slash. The attacks are twice as strong, but SS takes 4 times as long to recharge.
2. I've given the enemies integration.
Reason: This is an experiment. I know some of you are crafting the hand grenade power. If you're like me, you like to just mash on attacks to have the game auto-target whatever is closest to you when you're farming this map. The grenade's knockback effect (and that of any other powerset you may be using) will now be ignored, meaning if you throw it point blank, you won't screw yourself. Note: The +regen of integration is almost totally useless to the enemies because they have very little HP to start with and the +regen is a % of practically nothing. On top of that, you can pretty much 1-shot everything so the +regen does them no good anyway. The one downside is you can take a hit to your framerate since the integration effect is so prominent. -
Thanks streetcleaner. I have 1k on my live build atm but I'm not loving it. The animation is really long and way too flamboyant for my character theme. I think I'm gonna drop it.

Quote:You should give my map or the OPs map a try. If you have a damage aura and an AoE attack before level 8, you can do these maps. You won't be as fast or efficient as a brute, but it'll probably work.Any good farms for a lowbie Warshade? I CAN GET A DAMAGE AURA (ok it's a crappy one)!
Seriously, I need something that's not meant for Brutes only... Any hints? Thanks (I know this is the Brute forums but I don't wanna start a farming thread having just come back to this game) -
Heya folks. I've been leveling up a DB/DA Brute that I'm really starting to enjoy. He's been a blast to level so far and I really love the costume. I've been making a lot of /FA characters lately so I was looking for a change of pace.
I already have a top tier SS/FA/Mu annihilator so my focus with this guy has been more on surviving than being a total death machine. Of course being able to lay down the hurt in large quantities is still on the menu. I basically wanted a Brute that can play on any regular content and excel. As much as I love my /FA characters, sometimes they get utterly plastered. The other secondaries are not really my cup of tea. I get bored of WP and SR, I have no interest in Stone or Energy, I've already got multiple Shields and Fiery, and I'm working on a DM/Invuln scrapper.
That leaves /DA. Now, I'm no stranger to DA. I have one with a very similar build on Justice. A Claws/DA scrapper and I love it. I've seen what /DA is capable of and I want that on a Brute. It's DB that I'm new to. I've never played one past level 10 before now, so it's totally new to me.
That said, here's my build. I'm not looking for anything specific, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions, I'd love to hear em. I think I've got the combos that I want. Basically I have Weaken, Empower and Attack Vitals, which I think gives me the most well-rounded options.
One thing I could do is swap out SJ with Laser Beam Eyes, throw 3 slots in there which I would steal from the Crushing Impacts I put in my ST attacks, then slot Thunderstrike into LBE. That'll push me to 35% E/NE. Though I do really like having a real travel power.

I'd say a /dark and a /rad.
You both get -res powers. The Tar Patch will help keep the anchors and their buddies all nice and tight. You get the amazing debuffing power of /rad and /Dark to provide an enourmous amount of survivability. Then the /dark gets the awesome control of Fearsome Stare and the awesome Dark Servent pet. On top of that you can combine 2x Manuevers, shadows fall, and all of the to-hit debuffs to make your duo almost impossible to hit.
Oh and get the /rad to take fallout. Trust me, it's awesome.
