I'm going to have to find out what the best anti-elec brute build is so I can make a stand when they come to take over the PVP zones!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't worry too much.. With the emphasis on AoE damage the Elec/Elec brute will be far better in PvE than PvP.

If you really are worried, the ways to take down an */Elec brute will be:
    1) DoT attacks (Res based armour, no heal except Aid self)
    2) Toxic Damage or Dark Damage
    3) Fear

and an Elec/* brute will be less a threat in PvP than most other Brutes.

I guess their biggest fear will be a Spines Scrapper (their Nemesis), followed by things like Dark Blasters, Dark Corruptors, Necro/Poison MMs, etc. With a very good damage field though, I probably wouldn't try sneaking up on them with a Stalker, but if you do, Dark is the way to go.

Overall though I would say in PvP these are a lesser threat compared to other more PvP orientated builds. They should be nice in PvE though.

Oh..and I do plan to build an Elec/Elec Brute, but I've been waiting for this.. its my first Brute since Beta. I don't however expect it to be a PvP monster though. If I wanted that I'd go Energy/Stone.
  2. Hmm.. I'll try to be there for as much as possible.

I generally get home about 7, so I may be late, and we have an important officers meeting later, so I may have to leave early.

I wanted to turn around and say "you're a corrupter you're supposed to be the healer"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have you tried saying this to */Sonic corruptors yet? It will get a memorable response, I guarentee you.

Anyway, to answer your quuestions my Corruptor is a corruptor. I dont favour either my Primary or my Secondary all important. The character is pretty chameleon like slipping into support or offence roles as the need applies.

I have 5 powers from my Primary (Dark Blast, Gloom, Tenebrous Tentacles, Night Fall and Blackstar) 4 of which are 6 slotted.

I have 6 powers frm my secondary (Transfusion, Siphon Power, Siphon Speed, Speed Boost, Transference, Fulcrum Shift) of which 3 are 6 slotted

On top of this I have 9 pool powers (Combat Jumping, Super Jump, Acrobatics, Swift, Health, Stamina, Hasten, Assault, and Tactics) none of which are 6 slotted - the nearest is 4 slots in Tactics.

I guess if I wanted to be "defendery" I'd probably pick something like Ice/Thermal or Ice/Dark

If I wanted to be "Blastery" I'd probably look at either Rad or Energy / Rad or Kinetics.

The truth is though, if you don't play like a Corruptor (if you try to be a pure blaster or a pure defender) you are missing out on the great synergies within this AT. And anyway, who says we are the support class? Have you seen those Mastermind Guys? They have much better single target heals than we do

That definitly sounds like a good plan....would put my 2 cents in.

Okay.. Ive created a thread here

Now to try and get Bridger to sticky it or add it to Whats Happening on Union Villains
  5. No..this was when I typed Bloodbay meaning Warburg !!

My brain will switch back on later when I'm playing CoV. Right at the moment I'm at work and that doesnt require a brain
  6. I spent about 15 minutes in Blood bay following a Robots/FF MM waiting for him to drop PFF.

The amusing thing is when he did, some other stalker that I hadn't seen ASed him before I could, so I ASed the stalker and informed him that I didn't appreciate him stealing my prey.

Afterwards we had a laugh about it. Turns out we'd both been stalking the same guy for about 15 minutes without realising the other guy was there.

    Teenage heroes

Well in EVIL we have Mizni..who's 11, so not a teenager yet. She would be the youngest RPed character I've seen around (and she is a very plausible 11 year old at time...although it drops a bit from time to time, so I guess RPing an 11 year old must be tough).

My original concept for Dark Impetus placed him at 19, but when I wrote up his history I realised he had to be 21. All my other character have been significantly older.

  9. Group Name
The European Villainous Immorality League (EVIL)

    Description
The European Villainous Immorality League (EVIL) is not so much a supergroup as a Super recruitment agency. EVIL exists to put the Criminal Mastermind in touch with potential henchmen, find cash strapped criminals jobs to do, and allow potential employers access to a pull of meta-powered individuals who don't mind being contracted for morally dubious work. We do not attempt to govern our contacts every move, many would be most upset if we were to even try, but we do insist they follow a few simple rules, and we do work as a team.

As far as I know we are currently the largest Active Roleplaying Villain Supergroup on Union. We have a Webpage here where you can check out out details.

We have regular roleplaying events including parties, training days and monthly meetings. We hosted the successful Mercenary's Ball which we hope to make a regular event in Port Oakes and we have numerous ongoing RP plots as well as new plots starting all the time. We have close ties to a hero group, which has allowed us to run a number of crossover events.

    Webpage
    http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=23662

    In game contacts
    @Nekomimi, @Big Lunk, @Hammer, @Tao'Grim, @Lord Synthet (the 5 current Officers)

    Favoured Activities
Roleplaying, Teamed Missions (RPed), Strike Forces (RPed)

    Other Activities
Team PvP, Various One-off team Events, Chatting (both IC and OOC)

    Admission Requirements
We only accept mature roleplayers. We have a two week probationary period and a new sponsor system where all new members will have a mentor during their probationary period. Applications submitted either in game In Character, or Out of Character through the website with a solid explanation of why you want to join have the greatest chance of success.

    Note
Not to be confused with E.V.I.L.(Every Villain is Loveable) or EVIL or EVIL University. Unfortunately EVIL has become a rather common SG name.
  10. Seeing as there is a SuperHero Groups Recruitment Corner - Union and a SuperGroup Recruitment Hub for Defiant Heroes we really could do with a post for active Supervillain Groups on Union. One of the standard recurring theme of this board is people looking for Supergroups. It there was one list they could reference with a standard format people could quickly find the group they were looking for.

I would suggest a format like:

    Group Name
    An Example Supergroup

    Description
We don't do very much because we're not real. We don't have a base or any members because we're not real. Don't join us, because we're not real.

    Webpage
    http://www.cityofheroes.com

    In game contacts
    @NameGoesHere (Group Leader), @AnotherName (Offcier)

    Favoured Activities
One on One PvP, Duelling in the Arena, Strike Forces

    Other Activities
    Group Missions and Powerlevelling

    Admission Requirements
We only accept Masterminds and Brutes.
  11. We really need a sticky thread for active Supergroups.

Maybe with some sort of categorisation so people who only want to get involved in team PvP and have no interest in roleplaying know that group A is right for them, whilst those interested in Roleplaying and Teamed missions know SG B suits them better.

Perhaps if we asked for a short description and a list of priorities.. so for example my E.V.I.L. would list Roleplaying, Socialising and Teamed Missions as high priority, Strike Forces and Team PvP as medium, and probably Solo PvP as low. Under no interest we would list things like Powerlevelling and Street hunting.

I'm sure there are lots of things people do in CoH which aren't RPing, Socialising, Missions, Strike Forces, Team PvP, Solo PvP, Street hunting and Powerlevelling.. I probably missed some really obvious ones.
  12. Hmm..us RPing Villains generally log in a lot earlier than that, but you'll frequently find load of us still on a 2am.

If you have any villain characters and are looking for RPing fun in the early hours see if @Nekomimi or @Big Lunk are on (or have a look at our website for other friendly members - link below)
  13. Okay..I can suggest the perfect roleplaying Supergroup (have a look at my signature.)

I believe we are the most active RPing Villain group at the moment, and I can guarentee fun or something that passes for it anyway).

The ACC in Elec Melee is..

    [/ QUOTE ]

You'll need to use the unstable version of HeroStats to check, but the Accuracy is absolutely normal. It may seem like it misses a lot, but thats probably because you are used to Accuracy SOs
  15. [ QUOTE ]
don't forget kinetic defenders/controllers/corruptor transference which is -recovery.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As far as I know both Transference and Transfusion just drain END from the target. Transference drains a lot, and Transfusion drains a little.

If either of them does have a -recovery component its very small or very short, since it does appear that most mobs get their endurance back pretty quickly.

(My main by the way is a Dark/Kin Corruptor with both these powers 6 slotted. Transference is an incredible sapper power when slotted with 3 EndMod SOs, and will take a Longbow SpecOps or Arachnos Mu Adept straight to zero End, but not for long. )
  16. Wondering how useful the resistance to -recovery debuffs was, I checked. In the entire game there are only 5 powers with a -recovery debuff split over 4 pools. Three of these powers are hero only (and belong to Elec/* blasters, */Elec defenders and Warshades), whilst the other 2 are Villain only (*/Therm Corruptors and */Poison Masterminds).

Electrical Blast (Blaster Primary, Defender Secondary)
Short Circuit (Blaster Lvl6, Defender Lvl10)
Thunderous Blast (Blaster Lvl32, Defender Lvl38)

    Umbral Blast (Warshade Primary)
    Quasar (Warshade Lvl32)

    Thermal Radiation (Corruptor Secondary)
    Heat Exhaustion - (Corruptor Lvl35)

    Poison (Masterminds Secondary)
    Weaken (Masterminds Sec Lvl 4)

That makes it incredibly situational in PvP.I guess it will be really useful for Longbow though (and the odd Malta we might meet.)
  17. [ QUOTE ]
all is in the title ^_^
i look for all the tricks/powers available to protect yourself against life and end. drain.

Work with a Kinetics Defender or Corruptor buddy. He may not stop you getting drained but he'll have you back up to speed in no time.

    Elec/Elec

Probably insanity, but we have several End drain powers. Can we get by without Stamina? I'm going to make a snap decision at 16 based on how things are going. If needed I can then get still Stamina by 20 or 22, but if not I'll go for something like:

    Name: Picana Electrica
    Archetype: Brute

    01) Sprint - EndRdx
    01) Brawl - Acc
    01) Fury - Empty
    02) Rest - Rechg
  19. I hate having to ask, but I now feel my corruptor is entirely useless in PvP and I need some advice about what I can do about it. In PvE he is stunning, rolling through spawns at a rate that would make many Brutes envious. Teamed with a few Brutes who cna benefit from his Fulcrum Shifts he becomes truely incredible and the limiting factor becomes how fast we can run (speed boosted or spihon speeded in my case) between spawns because the spawns last seconds.

Move him into a PvP environment and the scoresheet becomes very different. To date he has drawn in several one-on-opne battles with other corruptors (neither could take the other our after 5 mins plus of continuous battle), defeates done very stupid stalker who just have watched me eat sever reds, fulcrum shift a large spawn, go into the Blackstar Nuke constipated stance and thought "He's going to blow, I'd better run in fast, stand next to him and try to assassinate him!". First I knew about him was when he died right next to me.

On the other hand I've been battered left right and center by stalkers, blasters, brutes, scrappers, controllers, tanks etc. Against controllers I last until I miss with Transference and they get enough End to hold me - but then its all over. Against corruptors we normally end up in a stale mate. Against melee characters I normally last two hits, and even if I slow them they still manage to hit (sometimes with what should be a melee attack at what on my screen seems to be 100 yards plus - I've even been hit when as far as I can see the two chracters never came within 50 yards of each other at any time with "melee" attacks).

I've also got a Nin/Ninj Stalker, a Claws/Regen Scrapper and a Mind/Ill Controller that I occassionaly enter PvP with. These don't feel gimped. In fact they are all quite effective despite being specced for PvE and the defeats don't annoy me because there was a challenge - which is fun, but the contoller feels entirely 100% useless, and the hopelessness I feel taking him into a PvP zone is really turning me off the game. I ended up taking him into Warburg at 5am to get a Nuke, but I don't want to have to do this sort of thing.

Am I missing something? How do I turn my Dark/Kin defender into something that can last 10 seconds in PvP. I dont want to be uber. I don't want to wreck my character for PvE. I just want to stand a chance.

My current build by the way is:

Or Hover, Recall Friend, Teleport, Self Aid (the way I'm going). I just wish ED hadn't removed the option of 6 slotting hover.

Then I have to decide between Leadership and Fitness..since I've already picked 3 pools. Could it be that by slotting the first three attacks with END Mods I dont need Stamina. I suspect I'll probably take stamina and respec out of it at 35 to take tactics.
  23. I'll second this

Dr.Infernus, Samuknight and Aeonic gave me a great introduction to 1-on-1 dueling in Warburg this week. It was a great experience and I have to thank all three for it. As a result I think I might now be hooked on dueling.

(I was playing Dark Impetus and Nekomimi).
  24. We will get a team together one way or another..so count us in.

Can you add a rule that players can only join one team (and cannot play on both Hero and Villain sides)..or we may encounter problems in later rounds when a player has to play himself.
  25. Okay, based on the feedback..the updated list is below. I'm still curious what people think about soul storm...

    Ghost Widow - Soul Mastery
Ghost Widow will teach you how to corrupt and utilize souls of the dead to damage and hinder your enemies.

Soul Drain: Using this power, you can drain the essence of all nearby foes’ souls, thus increasing your own strength. Each affected foe will lose some Hit Points and add to your Damage and Accuracy.
PBAoE, Self +Dam, Self +Acc, Foe Negative Energy Damage ?

Dark Embrace: You tap into the energy of the Netherworld to protect yourself from damage. This Dark Embrace shrouds you and grants resistance to Lethal, Smashing, Negative Energy, and Toxic damage.
Toggle? , Self +Res(Lethal, Smashing, Negative Energy, and Toxic)

Soul Storm: Like Ghost Widow, you will be able to summon the souls of your victims to do your bidding. Soul Storm enraptures a single target, Holding them while their life-force is drained from their body. You must have one other Soul Mastery power before selecting this power.
Ranged, Foe Hold, Foe DoT Negative Energy Damage?
    or possibly
    Ranged, Foe Hold, Foe -End?

Summon Mistress: Ghost Widow will assign a Fortunata Mistress for you to command. Arguably, the most powerful of the Fortunatas, these rare few have mastered numerous psychic abilities and have risen to the top of Lord Recluse’s beautiful Black Widows.
    Fortunata Mistress
Telekinetic Blast: Moderate Smashing, Psionic & Knockback
    Psychic Scream: Moderate Psionic
Will Domination: Moderate Psionic, High Sleep

    Black Scorpion - Mace Mastery
Black Scorpion will give you access to an Arachnos Mace, and teach you how to use it in battle.

Web Envelope: The Executioner’s Mace can lob a modified Web Grenade. Upon impact, the Web Grenade expels a strong, tenuous, and very sticky substance that can Immobilize most targets in a wide area. This non-lethal device deals no damage and does not prevent targets from attacking, although their attack rate is Slowed. The Web can bring down flying entities and halts jumping.
AoE Immobolise, Foe -Fly, Foe -Jump, Foe Slow

Scorpion Shield: Black Scorpion’s technologies are impressive indeed. This energy shield grants you Defense to Lethal, Smashing and Energy attacks, as well as improves your Damage Resistance to Toxic damage.
Toggle? , Self +Def(Lethal, Smashing, Energy), +Res Toxic.

Web Cocoon: The Bane Mace can fire a more powerful version of the common web grenade. The sinewy fibers of this grenade are strong enough to completely Hold one target. Targets able to resist the Hold are still likely to have their attack and movement speed dramatically Slowed. Web Cocoon can also bring down flying targets and prevent foes from jumping. You must have one other Mace Mastery power before selecting this power.
Range Hold, Foe -Fly, Foe -Jump, Foe Slow

Summon Disruptor: Black Scorpion will grant you an Arachnobot Disruptor to command. Arachnobots were created by Arachnos Orb Weavers to take down particularly powerful super-powered threats. You must have two other Mace Mastery powers before selecting this power.
    Arachnobot Disruptor
Wide Area Web Grenade: Moderate Immobilize, Slow
Disruptor Blast: AoE Moderate Energy, Endurance Debuff

School of Sharks: You can call forth a school of vicious Shark Spirits that will swim out in a cone formation and will encircle your foes, draining their spirit energy. The encircling Shark Spirits will immobilize most foes while they deal Negative Energy damage over time. Both you and the target must be near the ground for this power to activate.
Cone Immobolise, Foe -End, Negative Energy Damage ?

Shark Skin: The power of the Leviathan Mako has shown you seems to have no end. Shark Skin improves your Damage Resistance to Lethal, Smashing and Cold damage.
Auto? , Self +Res(Lethal, Smashing, Cold)

Spirit Shark Jaws: You can summon a massive Spirit Shark that will attack your foe from below. The Shark will grip your foe with its massive jaws and attempt to Hold the target while he mauls it, dealing Lethal damage over time. Flying targets will likely be pulled to the ground. You must have one other Leviathan Master power before selecting this power.
Range Hold, DoT Lethal Damage, Foe -Fly, Foe - jump?

    Waveof Cold: Cold DoT, Slow
    Resistance: Cold
    Vulnerable: Fire

    Scirocco - Mu Mastery
Scirocco will instruct you on the Way of Mu, ancient techniques that give access to the lightning-based powers of the ancient race.

Power Sink: Power Sink leeches Energy directly from the bodies of all nearby foes, draining their Endurance. Each foe you draw energy from increases your Endurance. If there are no foes within range, you will not gain Endurance.
    PBAoE, Self +End, Foe -End

Charged Armor: When you toggle on this power, you are surrounded by a charged field that makes you highly resistant to Smashing, Lethal, and Energy damage.
Toggle? , Self +Res(Lethal, Smashing, Energy)

Electric Shackles: Electric Shackles binds a foe’s limbs, leaving the target Held and helpless. The target is drained of some Endurance and some of that Endurance may be transferred back to you. You must have one other Mu Mastery power before selecting this power.
Ranged, Foe Hold, Foe -End, Self +End

Summon Adept: Scirocco will show you how to call upon a mystical Mu Adept to assist you. The Mu pulse with the blood of their slaughtered ancestors in their veins, and are well practiced in the dark arts. You must have two other Mu Mastery powers before selecting this power.
