Thanks for the answers. Looking forward to it, esp the shortened cast times. (Sorry, activation times.)

Anyways, I ain't doing it again. Period. I will try the Dark/Dark however, that falls nicely into some character concepts I love.
I kinda did the same thing. The last 3 Doms I made were all Grav/Energy because of concept (same concept, different servers), and I like the combo. They're not 50 yet, but getting there. The Dark/Dark Dom concept I have in mind is the flip side of that Grav/Energy concept, and I'm anxious to try it while I level the Grav/Energy Doms to explore the concept/anti-concept idea.

I've been dying to know this as well, ever since I heard Dark Control and Dark Assault were coming. I'm dying to get my Dark Dom going.

I also heard there were going to be changes coming to Gravity Control. Is this true?

So which is it? Make up your mind. Is content for leveling, or is it for getting rewards?

    I do agree with this.

I've been playing Dominators recently and I do like the Energy Assault set. I do pick and choose my targets fairly carefully, and if, God forbid, I blow one target away from the tank, then you can bet your sweet behind I'm prepared to stay on him until he dies. If I do KB a target, I figure it is then my responsibility, not the tank's, tyvm, to see to it that said target is killed, and I figure everyone else pretty much plays this way, so why should the tank get SO peeved over some KB anyways? I see too many tanks *grumble* and then follow the KB'ed target. They need to know when to just let it go and trust in their teammates. Don't worry, be happy, I got this.

    Thank you, Snow Globe.

Yes, I had not heard it was fixed and so, naturally, I thought it was still broken. Thanks for saying something.

Oh yeah, and it's worth saying: City of Villains >>>>>> City of Heroes.
    Says you.

    :P

But you know, now that old Hero-only ATs are available V-side, I might be coerced into looking at it a bit more seriously.

This is labeled Weapons Pack: Titan Weapons #1, so I'm assuming there will be more, depending on popularity of the set. Perhaps they're waiting on Marketing numbers. Probably be a month at least before we see a #2.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it'll come back, but probably not at 400 points, that IS a little pricey at 100 points per weapon. Most other weapons run what? 60 points per?

Admittedly, Christopher's story has some ... issues, so you might prefer Janet Kellum instead.
This. Be sure to get Anti-Matter from Tina's arcs or when you get to 50, you'll be wishing you had.

I have a 50 who must've missed it so far, and now she'll have to find someone 40-45 to go along with to get him.

I caved a few days later and bought the weapon set, but that's a different story.
I only was able to get it because I heard about the weapons pack on a thread here and went and scooped it up. It's going to be a month, maybe even two before I get TW (last month I got StJ and this month BR), but when I do, the weapon pack will be waiting for me.

If I hadn't heard about it on the forums, I prolly woulda missed it, since I do not usually go gawking in the store if I'm not planning to buy something.
  14. Thanks for everyone's suggestions on who to contact for this problem, and what could possibly be happening.

It turns out that it was just an instance of the bug, I'm guessing, because I logged on just a few minutes ago, and both of my Street Justice characters were not locked like they were earlier today. I'm hoping that when I get around to making a Beam Rifle character, I don't have the same problem. (I bought Beam Rifle a month later than Street Justice but still haven't used it to make a character yet.)

Thanks for the replies and I'm keeping some of the information so I know who to contact if I ever have a similar problem again. I'll also remember to try the re-logging trick too.

However, the players COULD help me with these two questions, which were the only questions I asked.

Ok, so Customer Support is the answer to 1a. So far so good....
  16. I bought the Street Justice powerset the first week of November, or maybe it was December, I can't recall which. I rolled a couple of Street Justice brutes, one on Virtue and one on Exalted. The one I have on Virtue I've gotten up to level 37, and she's been a blast, and so I rolled another on Exalted who's only up to level 10 or so.

The problem is just now I logged on to Virtue and it says my StJ brute is locked because I don't have access to the Street Justice powerset. I checked the Market, and next to the Street Justice powerset, I have the option to buy it, and I thought the "Buy" button was not supposed to show on items you've bought. Obviously the Market has it wrong, and because of this, it has notified CoH to lock my brute.

Who do I contact about this and how do I contact them? Can I do it in-game, or do I have to email someone? I have never, ever had an account issue like this in all the time I've played CoH so I'm not sure how to proceed on this.

They're talking about the power supply unit, this is the part of your computer the power cord plugs into, not the battery. (Since the light on the battery is green, it's probably good.)

But I'm wondering if your problem might not be your power switch itself. Or maybe the power is coming on, but your display is not working. Maybe it is the power supply, but these other things should be ruled out as well.

I am just now getting into most redside ATs since they can now be played as Heroes from level 1.

I never played brutes before because I didn't like tankers, but I've since discovered brutes are more like my beloved scrappers, only more durable. I love, love, love Street Justice.

Still don't like stalkers, they seem almost like gimped scrappers, but that's probably because I haven't realized exactly how they should be played; I play them like a scrapper, and that never works.

Still haven't chosen many corruptors even though I've soloed many a defender in my day and I'm thinking corruptors could kill a lot faster. Still trying to finalize my ideas for a beam rifle corruptor.

Dominators I tend to play a lot like faster controllers, now I see how I was hamstrung into waiting for containment to kill things. I like my "solar" dominator, using yellow-orange energy assault powers along with a gravity control primary. I think I'll use the new darkness powersets to make my "lunar" dominator.

The young hero, Galaxy Kid, had activated it yet again.

There was strength born of the Fall of Galaxy City. Galaxy Kid and others had taken up the cause, perhaps more motivated than those that had come before. The Menders could use that.

But suffering and pain came with that new strength, as well. The Menders had to do better. Some questioned why they had created the Echo. Not Raphael. For each who said the Echo was "wallowing in failure" he knew that were those that it helped - to ease the pain of loss or as a rallying cry to strive harder. It was necessary, however painful its lessons.

But for Raphael, it inspired fear - fear that there would be many more echoes before the Storm had passed...
This sounds like a perfect lore reason for the Echo. And all the Echoes to come.

All this talk about explore badges and memorial sites and the perfect lore reason was entirely missed in the battle. The Echo is the ultimate explore marker/memorial site. It's in the game for the same reason as the explore markers or historical plaques. To commemorate something worth remembering.

    C'mon Newb!

My newb moment came way back when I was really a newb. I was 3-4 days into my 7 day trial (this was back right after Issue 4) and got up to level 5 or 6 and heard I should go to King's Row to face baddies of my level so I could level a little faster than the abysmal rate I was leveling on Hellions and Skulls misssions in AP by this point. I was used to MMO's so I looked for the zone entrance for King's Row. Didn't see it, so I figured it must be through another zone. Checking out maps from a website somewhere I figured I could go through Skyway City and take the zone entrance into King's Row from there.

So I sell my enhancements and stock up on Inspirations and take off. About 83 deaths later, I finally pull into King's Row, wondering why the hell would they put a 10-14 level zone between Atlas and a 5-9 level zone. My first mission was to bring in Toothbreaker, yeah, you guessed it, the mission was in Atlas Park. I started to say "this is pancake" but I took off anyways, piling up more deaths. After the mission, getting ready to come back to King's Row, I was starting to wonder if I wanted to go through this again, when by chance I stumbled into the tram station. Eureka! So THIS is how you're supposed to travel to zones! Wow, okay! NOW this makes sense! Cool!

Aaaaaaand I was hooked from then on.

  23. I haven't read the entire thread, but has everyone forgotten that Statesman has died once before? Manticore killed him at the end of TopCow's City of Heroes Issue #2. Manticore took him to Numina who helped him bring Statesman back. How can it be so hard to do it again?

I don't understand why people are getting their panties in a wad over spoilers (again). Aside from the fact that you'd have to be an idiot to not realize the thread contained one, none of these characters were the slightest bit interesting when they were alive, so who really cares if they're going to die? There was no suspense in the arc either; you can make a case for any of the "surviving 8" to be the Designated Receiver so there's no point in getting invested in the story. It was practically a Random Events Plot anyway.

The only real question is whether or not he will stay dead. It would be nice to think that he will, but given how often the devs have expressed pride at embracing "comic book reality" and given the absurd tweests like (e.g.) Calvin Scott's imaginary marriage, I'm not optimistic about how this will play out.
You've got the perfect avatar, fitting your snark level. Do you still wear a cape? (heh heh)

Your name should be The Cynic. Is it maybe your middle name? I've never seen a positive post by you on any subject. If you hate this game so much, why are you still playing? Is your love of complaining > your love of the game?

    /snark off
  25. Well, the spilled spoils has resulted in everyone talking about it, that's for sure. Still not convinced that's not the main purpose of it all anyways.

Some drama llamas would have you think they're on the verge of /ragequitting over the devs letting this cat out of the bag. I just wish people would let the whole arc play out before starting with the gnashing of teeth and the rending of clothes. I have a feeling even more surprises await if they're willing to throw out this major spoiler this early.
