Quote:i know "too much" is fairly subjective, i usually try to save all my inf for the IOs and stuff because market prices are insaneIf you get 10X as much under plan B....why do you care if 90% less use it than Plan A?
My point, while I agree with you as a matter of principle, is that the term "too much" is subjective. And while I wouldnt touch any billboard idea that didnt allow me to put something like "Synapze farts a lot", the fact is my idea of disposable income does not neccessarily equate to others ideas of disposable income. Im trying to target the Upper class and yer targeting the Upper Middle Class....
So IM liking the idea of a tiered advertisement system...AP, SC, Talos and PI cost the most GC, Boomtown etc....not so much.
if it was as cheap as 10 mil, i might consider doing something like this cause i can usually make that in a fairly reasonable amount of time, i wasnt assuming "too much" based on how much i had on me at the time, but how much i can average make per week (and this is average play like just running mishs and selling average drops on the market) -
heals count for any hp that you heal (regardless of what your healing as long as the thing your healing isnt at 100% (or full) hp)
heroside im not sure of whats the best thing to heal farm, a mastermind however could just summon pets and heal them in a fire in mercy or st martial (how i did it for last few of my healing badges) -
Quote:this is exactly what i would do if they charged too high of a rate, and i do agree that they wouldnt let us use ALL of the billboards (im sure they would let us use ones in extremely underused zones)The billboards bring in real cash money to NCSoft, or at least that was the original plan. I doubt they would give that up (if there really is anything coming in) just to let players advertise stuff.
As to spending huge amounts of Inf on sinks that have no in-game benefit, sure there are some people who will do it. But people like me would just laugh at that and keep buying expensive IOs.
this is also exactly what i was saying about if you charge too high of an inf rate people wont use it, in order for it to be a sink, people need to make use of it, the little idea i came up with was affordable, and yet a huge sink (the for the longer you extended it), so if you really really wanted your arc to be posted, you would have to fork some extra dough, but for just 1 week on 1 billboard you wouldnt fork over an arm and a leg for itQuote:PLAY "BIG IDEAS", ARC #301788
Mad Science, Family style! Villainous!
I don't know if anyone would pay 100 million for that for a week, but they might pay 10 million.
they dont even have to make us use tbe billboards, they could just have NPCs scattered throughout the zones that say what you want them to say in like NPC chat so if you walk by you will see the chat (kind of like 3/4 of the normal NPCs that walk around, this NPC would be static because it would be too hard to go from a static clickable NPC to a walking around NPC) -
lord recluse actually has 2 summoning powers, one he uses only at low health, and the other when hes aggro'd
one of the summons just summons a bane spider boss, while the other summon summons about 6 guys ((3 minions, 2 LTs, 1 boss) according to the power description [summon army]) -
in the objective with the boss spawn, if you go into boss settings theres a little section that says "surrounding enemy group" which is normally selected in the dropdown as "same as boss" but going into that you could choose to set any other enemy group (normal or custom) or selecting "empty" to make him spawn alone

another option for farm thats less used is the 2nd mission from tavish bell the "eliminate demons, secure cargo" mish
that mish can only be completed if you get both glowies and kill everything, so its another good option for a farm mish
there is also the snake farm, but that farm is more meant for brutes in general (stones are the best for it) -
Quote:with this, most of the times the rez animation fails mostly due to having a fortune (from what i noticed), if i dont have a fortune, i will rez fineI'm wondering if it's at all connected to the current problem with the Rez animation not working correctly.
i think the fortune animation is overriding the rez animations that should play at same time -
thats i think why DP works better with dark or traps, traps you could poison trap then use the nuke and dark you have dark servant debuffing their acc and you could fearsome stare when you get to mob, further debuffing acc and slightly controlling the mob so they arent beating on you right away

Quote:if it was AoE they would prolly increase the rech to 6 min cause with only 2 min as the rech now its not too difficult to drop the rech under 1 min to near healing flames rechI never understood why the Repair power wasn't an AoE, so you could replenish all 6 of your Robots. Also it needs a faster animation.
it would make more sense to be an AOE, but with how the power works right now, it would be insanely overpowered as an AoE -
this is what i was thinking, repair isnt as bad as most poeple think, while serum is just a complete waste of a power
-
Quote:the merc serum power is like giving one of your henchies a tier 9 power like unstop and it has the same effect of a nuke crash (essentially making them worthless until they can recovery end again)I haven't done the merk yet. Doesn't serum basically make them indestructible, like if you slot it well enough?
How bad is the end cost on repair? If it's really high, then I don't see why I'd bother saving the bot rather than just summoning a new one.
repair unslotted has 2 min recharge and 16.25 end cost, but its autohit and uninterruptable
serum has 16min40 sec rech, costs 13 end and gives the pet 52.5% resist to all but psi, +100% recov rate, mez protection, +10% tohit, and +7.5% all dmg for 1 min, then after 1 min they get the nuke crash of -100 end and no recovery for 20 sec -
while you can stack spirit tree, and even if you get a good drain psyche, you prolly wont get to 2500%, maybe 1500-2000% at most
however, pure regen wont save you from big hitting things -
theres some issues with the base editing atm which cause massive lag for anyone after a little while (i think memory leak)
-
i run a villain group on the victory server thats moderatly active
we have no drama, willing to run any kind of sf or whatever
if you wish to learn more send me a tell to @Necrotech Master -
i like repair, its definitly more useful than the merc unique power
i have a bot/pain dom, so i have heals a plenty, but i use repair on a bot instead of one of my pain heals cause i save my pain heals for allies, and repair is a nice thing to be able to save the bot thats dying (cause the protector bots arent exactly smart with their heals all the time)
granted its not he best unqiue mm power, but its still has its uses -
i could possibly see this as good thing (as im a horrible writer, always hated english classes)
i would gladly pay inf, depending on the rate you would be asking -
im either gonna do trap or trick arrow (never used trap on a mm, and trick arrow bombed with thugs)
depending on if the demons can heal each other like bots or mercs ill go either trap or trick arrow -
Quote:i was assuming no stealthing, the average team (approx half the team has done it and half the team has not)Eh. I think you might be a bit generous, assuming how well the team meshes and how competent they are (and how many missions you rush).
i know ive done 15 min tarikoss sf, 45 min ITFs, 1 hour LRSFs, ect, but that was on a very experienced team stealthing/skipping as many mishs as possible -
i noticed that for the first time the other day too and went "wth?"
i honestly dont know if its cause hes under a pile of rocks or what, but ive never seen it before a few weeks ago -
i dont really pvp much (or really know anyone who pvps that didnt either quit the game or transfer to freedom)
i dont really mind pvping every now and then and i would definitly be considered a casual pvper (i rarely pvp, but hey, its something different and chances for drops)
if you want to contact me to do a few arena matches here or there, my global is @Necrotech Master -
one way i could see this happening is if you:
set the map enemies to "empty"
set a glowy to spawn at mish start
then make a boss spawn with as many patrols as possible (the patrols could act as the "normal" map spawns)
or could make a bunch of boss spawns to activate after the glowy objective is finished
with some tweaks im sure this could work similar to how you want -
Quote:if you make it too high, poeple will see it as a waste (a very good example of this is inf -> prestige conversion at the sg registrar, nobody uses it because the exchange rate is horrible and you actually make better prestige just killing things)While Im not elitist about it...the point is to try and burn some of the excess inf out there. The scope of inf generation across the game is staggering to think about....Your numbers make a microscopic dent. We're not trying to get the casual people to spend money in this case...we're trying to get the hardcore to blow their wad.
It needs to be something that multiple people can buy for an obscene amount that would delete that moola from the economy with no actual game playing benefit. The idea is to make a resource to help the "social market" (socialpvp coined here) be an inf sink like no other.... Because the inf sinks we have now are not enough.
I think a billion a week or something along that line is acceptable.
if you make the signs 100 mil or even 1 billion a week, the higher you make the less and less people will want or can even afford to use it unless they really try to play the market to make 1 billion inf in a reasonable amount of time
i do understand that 10 mil might be a bit low, but you have to assume that people have to actually use the system to get rid of the inf, if you saw from my example, "renting" 1 billboard isnt too expensive, but it still removes inf from the system while the rich guy gets charged a fortune for renting 3 additional billboards, the system i devised is to make it seem cheap until you start adding in extra billboards, then the price skyrockets.
think about it, 1 billboard isnt gonna do much or anything (depending on location) to help get the word out that your sg is recruiting or whatnot, so if you want to get your word out to more poeple, the logical thing to do is rent more billboards, but that gets expensive as seen in my example.
my method may not be the most efficient method, but the point is to remove inf from the system, and it will do that fine because its not outrageously priced to the point poeple will never use it (hence the sg registrar inf to prestige conversion, a direct inf sink but the conversion rate makes it not worth it, and so very very few poeple actually use it) -
Quote:this would be good, but 100 mil is a bit steep, on a good day i can make maybe 5-10 mil inf per day (not selling anything on market) (and im also a bit more active than a "casual" player)Love the Billboard idea.
Charge 100 Million inf per week per billboard minimum per server. Double that amount if it is not the paying toon's native server. Ads never last more than 1 week before the next person's is rotated in. Jumping the queue costs 1 billion for every week forward you want to push ahead of someone else.
Every ad submitted gets a deposit fee of 100 Million. You lose that amount if an ad gets rejected/banned, otherwise it goes towards the advertising fee.
There has to be a way of automating the ad system or having the community approve/police it, since it could never work if the mods/devs would have to approve content, although we do have a moderated system in the forums and in AE which is manually reviewed.
maybe something like 10 mil per week, then charge an additional 100 mil for extra billboards they want to use
like an ad it could run for determined amount of time between 1 week and 4 weeks, since each week would be 10 mil, then to run it for 4 weeks its 40 mil for just the first billboard, then 100 mil per week per extra billboard
so for example if someone wanted to use 4 billboards for 3 weeks
3 weeks x 10 mil = 30 mil
3 additional billboards x 100 mil = 300 mil x 3 weeks = 900 mil
total inf cost of the "ad" would be 930 mil for 4 billboards for 3 weeks
the more inf you had the more you could advertise your sg or something, but it wouldnt be overpriced for the casual player, since most of the cost is from additional billboards, since the single billboard would only be 10 mil -
are you also factoring in your end recovery or any end draining abilities that would allow more free slotting?
if you get high end recov from IO sets or even stamina (3 slotted stamina adds like .87 end recov/sec), the small attacks will take maybe 2 seconds at most to recover the end from, the larger attacks are what will burn your end in that case -
how i usually slot powers is i try to get my powers around 6-8 end per use, and most of the tier 1 attacks have really low end (usually 6 or less without slotting)
so my rule of thumb is to slot my heavy end use attacks with end reductions and slot my tier 1/2 attacks with no end reductions (maybe 1 at most)
