  1. Although Johnny Butane has a very negative view on GR, he does have a point. I love the expansion, but a lot of it feels a bit rushed.

I remember saying during beta that having the Paragon City warehouses in Praetoria was really a huge disappointment. The same goes for cars that look like they're from the 60s and not from a different dimension...

It's almost cruel to look at the amazing concept art that was developped and compare it to what we got.
  2. Bravo Zaphir!

Even though I hate the skyraiders, this is one arc I have to try!

The short version is that the Inherent Fitness issue was resolved by the Mids development team and that your older builds will import into I19 Mids just fine.

    The long version...

Energy Aura was able to make some different adjustments to the data to include support for Inherent Fitness. The result is two versions of Fitness that function exactly like the game: if you import a build with the old ones, those are the ones you get, but if you start a new build or remove the pool versions, you'll get the Inherent ones and not have the pool as a selectable option.

Diellan and I went over the Mids program files to make sure things are squared away on that end, and we found updating the program to include the new Inherent powers is not a difficult task. Work is already underway.

And the best part is that MY project is still on track despite this minor setback, is in its final testing stages, and is almost ready to be announced and released to the community. (-:

The Mids development team officially rocks!

    Thanks guys!

    So, what's left?

    Magnetism.

I still don't understand why it's not in the game, after 6 years...(and no, gravity is NOT magnetism)
  5. 1. Ancient Egypt
    2. Space zone (moon zone or spaceship) or Rikti homeword
    3. Old West

I am actually against revamping old zones, as I would love to see new environments that don't look like a modern american city. Paragon and Praetoria are more than enough! . A bit of variety wouldn't hurt.

Also, revamping the Shadow Shard was a cool idea three years ago. Time to move on, guys!
  6. Well thank you devs! Just a couple of blocks to walk for me!
  7. Very easy decision to me.

    OPTION 1, pretty please!

The old pieces look disgraceful, it's time for a revamp!
  8. Same problem for me. Three characters blocked so far in Talos on Virtue.

Any official word or help on this, please?

edit : I get the following message: "No mapserver connection. Try again."

You are my new best friend! Or you can read in my mind, as I was about to post that....

I only hope it's not wishful thinking on my part, as that would be the best super booster yet...egyptian costume pieces = animal-like parts are coming! ((hopefully not limited to just animal parts but that would already be a great start)
  11. Hello Glazius and thank you for running and reviewing my arc!

I just came back from vacation so that's why I didn't answer immediatly.

Let me please answer some questions you raised during the run.

The apprentice was abducted. I never said he was investigating on anything. He's not a private detective. Can't someone be abducted while doing nothing?

    Quote:
These Satyrs appear to be actual mythological creatures, rather than the analogues to the warwolves of modern times that the cyclopes and minotaurs are hinted at being.
Exactly. I even say so in the flyer.

    Quote:
The entire lot was god-forged, yeah, but out of his kit the shield's really the most famous part, with the spear coming in close behind.

I guess it depends what it's needed for.
Yup and if I had chosen the shield, you would have said it was predictable.

    Quote:
Storyline - ***. I have three problems with this storyline.

First is the crushing fist of tragedy descending from a clear blue sky at the end there. Was it supposed to be some kind of revelation that Icarus was dead? Going on the assumptions of myth, if Daedalus is free then he’d have come to grips with that a long time ago. If Icarus disappears during the course of the story arc, or slightly before it, then it means a little more to find him in the underworld.
It is pretty common in greco-roman myths to see the Gods toying with mortals in a way so that what they are trying to achieve fires right back at them. It's called Irony of Fate. That is what I was trying to somewhat illustrate, with a twist, here. But I can't blame you for not knowing that.

See it as another dimension to the main plot of the arc.

As you are sent to Hades to help Daedalus, the last thing he would have wanted is to be reminded of the tragic fate of his only child.

    Quote:
Second is the bizarre mystery of the Helmet of Achilles. Supposedly it’s vital to Daedalus’s effort, but it may as well be a power crunch for as much as I know about why. Even though I understand that Daedalus may not want to talk about his secret weapon, he can at least let on to what the helmet’s useful for.
It's said in the synopsis. "Help Daedalus start his quest" and you did just that. He is just asking for your help to get the item. Nothing more.

    Quote:
Third is the rather reactionary nature of the whole affair. Between the initial mission to recover Daedalus’s mapmaker and the final mission to recover the treasure he made a map to, there are three missions of putting out ancient Roman fires - the kidnapped Sibyls, then the Satyrs, then the Harpies. They’re the titular elements for the arc, but they just seem to interrupt the main plot, rather than being something that, say, Daedalus sends you to investigate.
See, I don't agree. The arc is pretty much a race against time. Daedalus has a very secret plan. Romulus has spies watching Imperious and co (which is rather pro-active). Romulus understands something is going on with Daedalus, he wants to know what. Daedalus realises that when his apprentice is abducted.

When Romulus has the maps, we don't know the extent of his knowledge of Daedalus' plan. Mission 3 is where Daedalus starts realising that and sends you fighting against "feathers and fur" rather pro-actively.

I designed the arc specifically so that it doesn't look like most of the arcs in the game or in the MA, i.e having reactive contacts.

    Quote:
I don’t get why Romulus is a necessary defeat in the last mission. Maybe when we get to the reliquary we find he’s already looted it. That’d be an easy reason, at least.
I guess I could set it as optional. Though I thought that since, as a hero of legend, you and the biggest enemy of Cimerora are in the same area, it would have made sense to arrest him.

    Quote:
The one thing I don’t quite get about the custom mobs is why so much psy assault. Harpy slavers, fallen heroes, and Icarus all make use of it, but psionics don’t seem to really fit any of them.
Well that's a rather odd comment. What is wrong with having one type of Harpy or shades of former heroes/villains having psy powers? I guess I could have used only dark melee/blast, but then you can imagine the nasty comments from furious players 1 staring my arc. We all hate spectral demons, don't we?

    Quote:
Minions need to engage in melee range. At least half of them, anyway. AoEs and some defense sets rely on having multiple weak targets clumped together. Satyr and Harpy minions both prefer ranged.
I tried balancing melee/range the best I could. The problem is you can never make all the playerbase happy. Not everybody plays melee characters.

    Quote:
Minions also need to be careful with debuffs, even incidental debuffs attached to damage powers, and tons of stacked sonic blasts from the Harpy minions can seriously devastate damage resistance. War mace (shillelagh)/SR satyrs (or MA/SR satyrs if you think you can get awak with shurikens) and claw/invuln harpies would be more reasonable minions.
To be honest, having MA satyrs would absolutely kill the immersion to me. And why would a harpy be invulnerable?

Regarding sonic blast, have you ever encountered Wailers? My Harpies are not more difficult and I haven't seen that many people complaning about how tough that particular mob is.

You have played many arcs featuring Arachnos, Knives or even the absolute worst villain group of the game yet highly popular Malta and yet you complain about my harpies and satyrs? I don't understand...

Anyway, thank you again for reviewing for my arc, even though I find it unnecessarily harsh.
  12. And please add Studio 55 to the list of (hopefully) placeholders...

    That place is so underwhelming!

I completely agree with Samuel Tow. Enough with the placeholders!
  13. This looks really cool but I have one problem. I don't believe I have ever seen Thor kicking in a comic...(I may be wrong though). It just doesn't feel right.

To me, it's going to be a huge disapointment if Thor is just peak human. I agree I would love to see him throw a couple of tanks around. If we want to see a tall blond gorgeous guy kicking hordes of human soldiers, we have Captain America releasing that same year. We need more superstrength.

A bit more epic action wouldn't hurt either.

The destroyer, however, I have nothing to say. It looks AWESOME.
  14. Hello!

My arcs (the IDs are in my sig) were posted on COHMR a while ago but I forgot to ask you for a review.

So please add them to your queue!

    Thanks!
  15. Extremely disappointing...

I realise that it is for the better, but let's not forget that this means yet another issue without level 50 content and one less feature in GR...

I am seriously dreading the doom threads incoming in 3, 2, 1....

    Both need a total overhaul.

As for the Dr Q TF, just nuke it into oblivion. Let's pretend it never existed. It's an abberation that is a sad shadow (almost a pun here....) on the City Of experience.

    2. Uninstall your old driver. You should be prompted to restart your puter...when you do, start in Safe Mode.

3.When you open in safe mode, close any prompts to install the Windows drivers. Use a product like Driver Sweeper to remove all traces of your old driver..bits and bobs left over could cause conflicts. (I use Driver Cleaner Pro that I paid for a long time ago. Driver Sweeper is free, and is very good.)

4.Restart you puter as usual. Again, close any prompts to install Windows drivers. Install the new driver you left on your desktop. Reboot. Done.

All that's left is to adjust your settings in the control panel to your liking, and any others you wish to make.

According to Nvidia's driver help page, you don't need to uninstall your old video driver anymore. I tried and it worked. Would you be aware of any problems happening when you're following Nvidia's new way of installing new drivers?

Presentation: No typos or grammatical mistakes that I noticed. Mission intro and exit dialogs were clear and easy to read. Can’t ask for more.

Content: I should first off say that I love historical/mythical fiction. So I really wanted to like this. And I was not disappointed. The author did a good job with the names of the characters, using the correct or at least close enough to not bother me, Roman terms. The enemy was visually impressive (if a bit annoying to fight, what a mixed bag of powers) and the story itself held together. And whatever else, the main villain has some major cojones!
It's a shame the outdoor map had those huge warwalls visible, but I accept that’s a limitation of the engine and not the author, and to balance that I really liked the visit to Juno’s temple.
    Wow you're fast!
Well thank you for playing my arc! I am myself a huge mythology fan so I pay a lot of attention to what I am usually borrowing from myth.

I do also agree that the war walls are absolutely killing the immersion, but that's a limitation we all have to deal with...

Overall: Lots of fun. I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series when I get a chance.

    Result: 4 Stars
Ok, that's very useful feedback. When this arc was created, it was sitting at 99% file space. I have that excuse no more!

Thanks again for playing, I am glad you liked it!
  19. OK!

You can try my Tales of Cimerora: from Tartarus with love...(ID# 292389)

    Enjoy!
  20. Very nice surprise, thank you.

But please, don't let that delay the beast booster pack...
  21. Leo-G, check the dev digest.
David Nakayama, the art lead, just said the "monstrous pack" may come later, after GR.

    Huh?

Don't get me wrong, the quality is there but I am still disappointed by the demonic, hell-spawn as you yourself said, feeling of this pack...

Sorry but I have to quote this.

Subjective feedback: So far, the weakest booster pack . Is it me or is the organic armor very Saint Seya-ish? After the martial arts pack?
Still looking for anything mutant related. Even among the costume change emotes, only one looks vaguely mutant-like.
Honestly, you should really change the name of this pack.
  24. Wow ! Excellent idea!
The contacts are a great touch!
