  1. Since this got bumped I'll take the opportunity to mention something while excusing myself for not looking through the twenty pages to see if it was already mentioned (aka I'm lazy and it's late).

Personally, the one costume that I've always wanted to have access to is the witch costume. The Cabals' one, more specifically. But also the one worn by the Midnighter witch who is sitting and drinking tea. At. The. Same. Time.

I'm mostly looking at the hat, skirt and shoulders, since the boots and gloves are either already accessible to players or have very minor differences that prevent me from noticing them when I look at their models (bad eyesight may also be a cause, but eh).
I'd also think a shirt or something might be needed to make it a 'set', but player creativity can get you places...
While I do know that the hat is somewhat accessible in-game, I have yet to have the opportunity to make it so. Perhaps this is just on my side, but still.

In any case, I just got a flash. I think it was on the first page, but someone mentioned updating NPC costumes while making them accessible to players. Well, in this case, making a pair of boots and/or gloves to go with the set would be a pretty good deal.

Before you mention that these girls (the Cabals) aren't found everywhere throughout CoX and that i might be a 'waste' of time (<gasp!>), well I'd like to suggest making it so. Or rather, putting more content in Croatoa involving the Cabals.
See? More content, costume update and even more costume in one shot!

Okay, I get it, I'm an idealist...
    but the idea's still there!

(Oh and I just remembered something, the witch hats from the magic booster are pretty meh. And I'm not looking at the hats specifically, but how the hair color is linked to the second hat color on one of them and also how the hair looks completely retarded if you wear a Magic Bolero. I mean, it goes through it!)
  2. Widow: Killing machine.
    Soldier: Killing machine.
    Scrappers: Killing machines.
    Brutes: Killing machines.
    Corruptors: Killing machines.
Tankers: ... well I have an ice/ice one that's still leveling, so yea, not really much of a killing machine at this point.

Oh, and I go for the defeat badges in general and at the same time, exploration. I sure hope the first part wasn't too hard to figure out.

I made a post that was probably better written with a few descriptions, but it all boiled down to endless killing machines. So, I scrapped that.
  3. I'll just throw it in here, in case anyone is not aware of it yet.

You can disable earning xp in Menu > Options > General > Scroll down to Miscellaneous.

Of course, it doesn't outright solve the problem (that is the absurdity of out leveling contacts) but still, it can be useful.

On an Arachnos Soldier though, you can simply unlock slot 5 at 40 in St. Martial/Founder's Tailor.
Although I've never done it, I've known about the Halloween costume slot.
As for the Soldiers' 'extra' costume slot that they would acquire this way, it appears to be inaccessible, but I can clearly remember reading something that mentioned it being accessible, although somewhat buggy.

I think it was on Paragonwiki, will have to check.

Ah, no. They can. The only costume slot that is locked is the first one (which basically reduces your number of available customizable costumes by 1 if you would be getting the last one, although I did hear or some way to access the last slot, I have not been able to personally).

I'd have to apologize if it is from my post that your concern rose.

Personally, my problem is the weapon customization. That, on the other hand, is non-existent for widows and very slim for soldiers.

Yes, it does fit quite well along Titan Weapons, imo.

I can already see it coming...
    "lfm to befriend frostfire, pst"
  7. I wouldn't mind if the first costume was lore-locked.
The rest of them? I'm not playing a bloody single player RPG. I'm playing City of Heroes/Villains, one of the few games with an extensive amount of customization available. Why restrict it so much?

You want lore? Fine. You want me to play your lore? Maybe. You want me to play your lore in your costume? Only if for a little while and if it's fun. You're going to lock me into using Arachnos Claws when my widow has made her way over to Paragon City and became a hero?
    What's wrong with you?

(Please note: this post is not necessarily directed at any given poster, just a way of putting things the way I see it)

Edit: Basically, the way I see it is that while your 'Soldier of Arachnos' was/is indeed a soldier of Arachnos, it has evolved throughout your playtime. Personally, I beat the snot out of Recluse. Do you really think I would want to be wearing the same uniforms the grunts have? Of course not. If you want to, then I have no objection as to having the option to. Just don't restrict it the way it is at the moment.
Oh and I just realized that I'm hijacking this thread. Silly me...

Looks pretty similar, to be honest.

Although I'd like it if we had those 'small variations' available, would add some more diversity.

If, for some strange, unknown reason, there isn't a rularuu version, I'll be disappointed.

    Very disappointed.

I want to smash people with a huge weapon that has an eye on it, so they can see that they are seen while I beat them with the eyed weapon.
No, that's not supposed to make sense, be logical or connected to a realistic interpretation of my desires to play the set.
  11. Now that I think about it, wasn't Energy Aura (edit: originally) made to replace Ice Armor?

I certainly do hope that porting Energy Aura to Scrappers does not mean that Ice Armor will not. That would be pretty lame, to be honest.

OH MY GOD THIS! YES THIS! PLEASE? Pretty please? With cherries? More cherries? Which flavor cake? Or would you like pie? How about both?

Just give me Weapon Materialization as a set already
  13. Hopefully that Ice Armor on Stalkers means they're at least thinking of moving some Ice Melee love around the melee ATs.

Oh and Thank You Very Much for Psychic Blast.
  14. Why no claw customization?
    Why no rularuu claws?

The never-ending, tormentful nightmare of no frikin customization continues!
  15. Psychic blast for corruptors.

Pretty please with triple cherries on the cake.

I might actually make a personal SG and enjoy some base building if I could do that (with the number of alts that I have and all).

As for the OP, I only have one thing to mention. Well, two. First, your avatar bugs me the wrong way. It's just... nevermind.
Second, I agree. Err, support? Whatever.
  17. Somewhat in link with the idea of a Rikti EAT, I'd like to throw the idea for a Cimeroran EAT.
Would be a nice step towards bringing spears and thrown weapons into the game, imo.
As well as a neat concept to show how Romulus betrayed Imperious and all that.

    Oh, the possibilities.

I'm really trying to find a reason as to why you'd put limits when creating teams/task forces/trial leagues...

and the best I can come up is a mere imitation of this (yes, even the part about kheldians -hell, why not add the EPP into this as well?).

    Oh, and this

  19. You're the brightest star I know, Rusty!

I swear, Aron Walker's arc was pretty good, Penelope Yin made it better (which I didn't think could happen) and than Dark Watcher just pushed it through the roof. Good stuff.

Time after time was probably the most epic moment of my solo career on my widow. Soloing Recluse was pretty fun and awesome.

Other than that, a lot of the RWZ arcs and missions are pretty good, but I don't bother with the names too much, nor have I done them enough times, sadly.

    BAF freedom style? Wait, what?

As to answer the OP's question, mostly because it is the most MM friendly trial available. I like seeing MMs, it makes me want to play one and I'd really like to, but I just can't get down to it.
Think of it as a personal reminder.
  21. I started when CoV came out and a few friends of mine who were simply creating a bunch of trial accounts to play CoH 'demanded' that I try out this 'bestest amazingful game of all time known and unknown'.
I couldn't really refuse that. I mean, really.

First character, I'm not too sure. But I remember three characters being what you could call your 'mains' back then.
-A Ice/Cold corroptor, who was the first character that I deleted among the trio.
-A Bots/FF mastermind. As you can imagine, it was very boring most of the time. The rest of the time, I just had a new pet this very level and was flying around Cap towards my next mission! Only to look at my bots do the work on their own.
-And an Energy/Regen stalker. the 'pink blow of death' was the original idea, or something along those lines. It worked till the 30s, then I left her in the dust until I came back, years later, to delete her along with my bots/FF MM.

Once I had cleansed my character list of those foul creatures, I made a Stone/Stone brute... who didn't make it to 20.
The new one was a keeper though. A fire/thermal corruptor. Got her to 50, by that time, my old friends stopped playing.
Then I made a widow and a soldier. The widow made it to 50, the soldier is, to this day, still sitting in her 40s.

Well, after that I took a break and came back (again) a few years later.
    And here I am
  22. No rerolls on my side. I don't think I have enough weapon users for that.

On the other hand, I've been thinking of making a dark-themed sorcerer who beats people up front.
And I just can't bring myself to make him right now, so I guess he'll be my first choice for a TW/ character.

Still need to see the weapon customization though.

The first is much simpler to remember, helps you do your job better, and lets you focus on what is going on around you instead of staring at your powers as they recharge.

In Mids, go to Window then Powerset Comparison. On the left side, pick katana and select "Damage / Anim" to show the damage per animation time values. The more often you use the highest DPA attacks, the better your overall DPS will be.
My comment was made mostly because I mentioned 'the best' attack chain while the answer was 'find out your own'.

As for figuring it out, it'll be much easier with that Powerset Comparison tool in Mids', thanks for bringing it up.

I've settled on a build very similar to the one posted, there's basically just 1 slot differ in position and a I've settled on the slow res in SJ and res/def in SoW.

I haven't read much about the Alpha incarnate slot for Kat/ or /WP, except that Kat/ needs recharge and /WP benefits from the +Healing as an increase in maximum HP.
Would Musculature be worth it? Although a portion of its +damage bypasses the ED cap, most of the attack powers are already ED capped damage-wise.
Is the Def Debuff increase too small to notice a difference?

In any case, thanks for the responses (and about the Lysosome, too -I really need to pay more attention to these things).
  24. Ended up being done sooner than I thought. In any case, here's an update version.
    Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome.
    Thanks in advance!

Obliteration isn't great for S/L defense, but at least you get some recharge from it.
Numina appears to be the best set to slot for on powers who solely accept Healing, if going for defenses. Perhaps I'm missing something?
Unless I go for Shield Breaker (in Accurate Defense Debuff), there is nothing that comes on par with Obliteration that can be slotted in TLD and GD. In fact, it just gives the same bonus (edit: it doesn't, actually.), but no damage.
I'm trying to see where you're going, but I'm just not seeing it.
Perhaps you meant Crushing Impact? That would make a lot for sense, considering I could change it for a set which would give better defense.

Of course, I could have slotted the other two for more defense, but that would make Maneuvers cost a huge chunk of end. Not to forget that the other two are already diving into the ED cap.
