2nd Travel power, Stealth/Invis/PS, Aid self (You can never have too many heals) take your pick. MoG is so thematically wrong that I wonder what the DEVs were smoking on that afternoon... Really I do, has anyone ever asked one face to face? (don't gimme that 'Working As Intended' [censored].)
They just must of run out of ideas. Me? I'd put in something like a Suped-Up Dull Pain, +(relatively)minor Regen as a 38 power (nothing close to IH but something, like 300%.) Make more sense to me, but that's me. -
[u]*Update*[u]
It is Dependent on range. When MObs stand just inside Pet targeting range the pet will draw/redraw his gun for every attack but as MObs get closer the pet stops exhibiting this behaviour.
To quote the Great Phillip J. Fry: I'm literally angry with rage!
*Sigh* do the DEVs really want me to make only Robotics Masterminds? Do they? -
[ QUOTE ]
Maybe there is some environment which makes your Thugs do the same? Is it always and everywhere like it?
[/ QUOTE ]Mercy Island, port oaks, Nerva... every Mission so far... Why is it that the DEVs can't just force them to hold onto their guns for, I dunno, exactly the same amount of time that Us REAL villains do? is that so hard? or is it something to do with their targeting...
For my Thugs it is every single type of MOB. Snakes, Family, Longbow, etc. -
Well I'm playing along, happy as can be with a new Thug MasterMind and my thugs are drawing and drawing and redrawing their weapons. Now this might not seam like much but it really cripples their attack rate as drawing takes... well maybe 1/2 a second to a second... and adding that up over a battle gets me possibly 10s of wasted time. Soldiers have the same problem.
Is this a known bug?
Don't make me go and make Another Robotics MM -
Hi all, I'm starting a Ra/Kin Corruptor and I am really unsure as to what I should have for my first 25 lvls. Could anyone be so kind as to give me advice on what I should be doing for healthy growth?
-
I actually think that they do, My bots constantly hit Night Nidows and other invisible targets that I can't see as long as they arn't at 'Heel'
Better be quiet though, Don't want the DEVs learning about this. -
-Any Macros that would help?
Sandolphan's Mastermind Numaric Keypad Pet Controls
That is all
(Ok they're not actually Macros... but they really do help) -
Well done young padawan, soon you will master the ways of the Mastermind and bring balance to the universe... and EVIL balance, Mua ha ha ha ha!

Then as I say I was thinking Assault + Tactics instead but if the boosts are as small as you say probably shouldn't. Although doesn't tactics boost detection/visability, which sounds like I should want it.
[/ QUOTE ] It really is up to you. Boosting detection is only really needed for PvP, in PvE you'll be hard pressed to find an invisble enemy that your pets don't 'Magically' know about anyway. (My Necro/Dark couldn't see an invisible ghost... but my Grave Knights sure could) Now that you are concidering using Tar patch and Darkest Night I relent and allow you to chose any powers you like... as long as they are Tar patch and Darkest night

Well the way my (lvl 40) MM can solo, I think it's fair to say that my build is functional AND it still includes Leadership... skipped all the attacks from the primary ...
[/ QUOTE ] BUT he wants all the attacks from his primary. you can't have tactics, assault and all of your 'personal' attacks if you want an effective build. -
[ QUOTE ]
Like I say I'm still fairly new to CoX but as I recall from other games, slowing and debuffing your foe does not kill them.
[/ QUOTE ]And yet there are classes in CoX (Defenders, Corruptors, and surprise surprise Masterminds) that have less DMG output than other ATs but have the ability to Debuff. By doing so they make their DMG output, and any of those teamed with the Debuffer, increase. The whole point of a debuff is to make your time easier and make you seem more powerful (by making your enemies rubbish). Please understand that we are trying to help you. If you refuse our advise then you are welcome to the consequences

TAR PATCH
I actually like the sound of this. I plan on doing a necro with it sometime. I've not need to slow things down. They get shot.
Does it reduce DEF as well as RES?
Is it much like caltrops?
Do you really think this will have a better overall effect than getting tactics?
[/ QUOTE ]Ok at least we are getting somewhere. No it does not reduce DEF. Yes it is much like Caltrops in that it slows them to a crawl, but does not damage them directly. Lastly yes it will have a better effect than Assault as with 3 recharges it is made nigh on perma and instead of a 10% buff to DMG it is a 30% debuff to RES. Please please please try it out.
[ QUOTE ]
Darkest Night
Skipped it because it says as long as power stays active.
Can I still fire guns and use DN? - I guessed not so skipped.
[/ QUOTE ] Of course you can attack with it on, It's a toggle, not an attack (it just happens to be a toggle that is stuck on an enemy) you toggle it on and procede to fire your guns at anyone else you feel like, you don't have to only target that 1 MOB, when you've activated it you can switch targets and fire of rounds from your pistols if you like.
I'm sorry if I seem a bit blunt but in ***/Dark MM power reviews both Darkest night and Tar patch are 5Powers. Most will tell you that you are mad if you skip either. you may not be trying to gimp your build but your doing a very good job anyway.
I'm all for concept, but you will be at one major disadvantage to any other ***/Dark MM if you refuse to take one or both of these powers.
In Dark I would have to say that Black Hole and Fearsome Gaze are the only 2 powers that I would Skip. most of the others are at least 5 star or 4 star powers.
I will close by saying: You do not need Tactics or Assault, the effect of both is nothing compared with just putting an SO into one on the summon slots. At a mediocre 10% DMG boost and a 12% ACC boost for both Tactics and Assault running you might as well put more slots into your Summoning powers. Because both of your Enforcers have Assault and Tactics you need not get any of the Leadership pool powers.
Unless you are going for concept above functionality skip the leadership powers for a Thug MM -
[ QUOTE ]
So and I'm sure my noobness will be pinted out when I say I plan to respec out Fearsome Gaze and Petrifying Gaze in order to get Assault and Tactics.
[/ QUOTE ]Yup.
As a Thugs MM you don't need Assault and tactics... at all... ever... You have two pets that have it as a perminant ability. your pets on the other hand can not Fear and Hold.
Please, don't 'spec out of these two powers, they are the silver medalists of /Dark. Tar patch and Darkest night are the gold winners. I'm really shocked that you plan to gimp your build by so much. -

I find my Grave Knights 'lock' once they've drawn steel.
[/ QUOTE ]I find this is also the case for me, but what I don't understand is why the Knights seem to have a phobia of actually drawing their swords in the first place.
I play mostly teamed so running head first into a spawn of +2/+3s is not the advisable thing to do, unless I want debt badges... and I'm not a badge hunter.

could have a button that tells the pet to "Only use melee" "Only use ranged" and "Go nuts, whatever"
[/ QUOTE ] Back in CoV Beta Posi stated this was not on the cards - if they did that they'd have to downpower the henchmen further.
[/ QUOTE ] I am really intrigued by this one, why is it that being able to actually tell our henchmen what to do, instead of letting them stand in Melee (for Bots) /ranged (Ninjas and Zombies) where they are at a disadvantage, is concidered Overpowered. Having a button that will force your guys into Melee is almost needed, and using GoTo is very frustrating when they still refuse to draw swords. -
Shame, I wish I had the problem that I couldn't keep my Knights Out of Melee...
Sometimes the problem isn't melee range at all though. Sometimes my Knights will stand toe to toe with a MOb without reaching for their forks.
I hardly ever have my Knights on Bodyguard. I don't want my best hitters dieing for me, that's what zombies are for
Just a quick question, are Melee oriented MM pets "Working As Intended"? -
After levelling a Necro/* up to level 24 the AI of my pets is really starting to get on my nerves. As all of you are aware Grave Knights are kings in Melee combat, they slash, they chop, they disembowel and later they use my all time favourite, Head Splitter. So why in the name of all that is unholy do they stand back and fire Gloom and Dark Blast constantly.
Even using the Absolutely Fantastic and game changing Mastermind Numpad Control Binds I still find my Grave Knights, standing but a mere 2ft away from the target, easily within Tuning Fork Of Doom range, and guess what attack they are using over and over again. Yes, you guessed it, Gloom.
Now Im not saying Gloom is a bad power, Im not saying that the Grave Knight doesnt benefit from having this attack. Hell its a lovely attack but it is in no way comparable to Disembowel/Head Splitter. The damage that Gloom achieves on a target is negligible when compared to Head Splitter.
Now I know that this issue is one that we all know. But I for one am unsure as to why we know it, why is it that a Grave Knight, upon firing off his Dark Blast and his Gloom, does not wade into combat to use his wonderful sword. Why instead does he wait for Dark Blast to recharge and then begin firing it again? Why does the Grave Knight seem to have Prefers Ranged coded into his little pixelated head rather than Prefers Melee?
I am getting sick and tired and tired and sick... and maybe a little drunk. Please, tell me that this is something that will get fixed, the life of my Character depends on it (for if I am doomed to keep leveling up with this AI I will retire this one early and roll a Bot/*** MM)
Well there it is, make of this short rant what you will. I just hope that is not falling on deaf ears.
Edit: I realise that some of you will rejoice in the knowledge that my heracy has been crushed and that I have joined the Metal ranks of the Bot/*** MM. But seroiusly, I really like this MM and I really don't want to have to play her like it's a chore. If the AI could be tweeked just a little to make Grave Knights listen to commands and actually get into Melee rather than stand about, then I would never play any other. -
Of course the best Damage Mitigation is to kill everything within seconds... so Bots/Dark and Thugs/Dark are superior to Necro in that respec...
...
But where is the Fun in killing everything in seconds? I ask you. -
The 7 deadly Sins is my Inspiration (and apparently the same for some of you too)

Speaking on this, why don't corrupters get a twin pistols power set?
[/ QUOTE ]
Watch this space. Positron has... confermed that 'Akimbo Pistols' are bcoming a Corruptor power set. We don't have a date though -
They are the Jack of all Trades set, Zombies are really Combat orientated, Greave Knights can hold their own at Ranged or in melee, a Lich is your own personal Dark/Dark defender,
I'm currntly at lvl 21 with Deadly-Sin (Defiant) and she is amazing, my lich is only a few sweet levels away and I just cannot wait.
Nothing Debuffs your enemy like a Necro MM, and Dark Miasma is 2nd only to Pioson in single target Debuff and is better most of the time at Group Debuff. You WILL love your Necro/dark, give him/her/it time and him/her/it will blossom. -
Having your Domination reach 100/100 before you can recharge that lovely little grey button in the lower right of the screen makes Dominators very happy little bunnies. Pair up with a few */kin Corrs and Boy Howdy you will explode in rainbow colours every 90 seconds... Owch!
-
Dominators should always take advantage of the 'Super Hop' as it is called. As a Dom you need combat manuverability, and nothing comes close to Hurdle (3 slotted Jump) and Combat Jumping. Even without a so-called 'Travel Power' you'll move faster than fly, I guarentee.
-
Forget Parton powers altogether. Why Bother... unless they get 'Fixed' from their current incarnation then I won't touch them with a 20' barge pole.
...
'Working as intended' My A$$ -
I would rather faceplant once in every 5-6 missions than complete 20 missions with 0 deaths using boring tactics.
Gimme a good old fasioned slap on the wrist over God Complex anyday. -
Sorry, you are teaching someone how to play to YOUR rules. your rules seem to consist of the following:
1, Defender Must == Healer. If Defender =\= Healer then said Defender < Empath.
2, Tanks and Scrappers And Blasters > Defenders and Controllers.
3, Everyone on the team must listen to you and your word is final.
All three of the above are... Incorrect.

"Speedboost plz"...
(Stone tanks, im looking at you)
[/ QUOTE ]We're sorry... Well at least I am and I try to refrain from EVER asking for Buffs. If Defenders/Controllers want to Buff me, they will, I don't need to ask.
