Armed Pets, Bug?

Well I'm playing along, happy as can be with a new Thug MasterMind and my thugs are drawing and drawing and redrawing their weapons. Now this might not seam like much but it really cripples their attack rate as drawing takes... well maybe 1/2 a second to a second... and adding that up over a battle gets me possibly 10s of wasted time. Soldiers have the same problem.

Is this a known bug?

Don't make me go and make Another Robotics MM

I have something like that in Oransomething-Levels. The cause then: the Chrystals. They are seemingly enemy objects, but not attackable. So my Ninjas doesn't know what to do... They just surround it and draw their weapons... then draw again... and again.

Maybe there is some environment which makes your Thugs do the same? Is it always and everywhere like it?

The red ones cause damage, and so they try attack it, but it's not attackable. Just psam follow till they forget about it is all you can do really.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of freaking bugged pets and their stupid annoying redraw. The crystals, but also disruption arrow longbow drops, caltrops from tsoo or anything pointblank AoE's.. your pets go crazy. Bots seem to have the tiniest problems with those, merc and thug are going insane.

Specialy for mercs that use 100% their gun, they redraw basicly every mob. Since they do insane DoT's, they all draw for 1/2 second and start their firing when a mob is only left for like 10hp. If you're lucky the 2 lowest and your commando all start Full Auto, waste another 6 seconds, put back their gun, grab it again and same story for the next mob.

Luckely Thugs get bruiser and that fire-freak guy, makes up a bit of wasted time. Mercs are just plain annoying, specialy because several non-damage Pointblank AoE causes aid other from your medic to fail nonstop. (and do they give stalkers assasinstrike on anything that does no damage aoe).

[/ QUOTE ]Mercy Island, port oaks, Nerva... every Mission so far... Why is it that the DEVs can't just force them to hold onto their guns for, I dunno, exactly the same amount of time that Us REAL villains do? is that so hard? or is it something to do with their targeting...

For my Thugs it is every single type of MOB. Snakes, Family, Longbow, etc.

It is Dependent on range. When MObs stand just inside Pet targeting range the pet will draw/redraw his gun for every attack but as MObs get closer the pet stops exhibiting this behaviour.

I've did several runs on my mercs, they still keep redrawing every single mob. The moment a mob dies, poof, gone is the gun. Oh wait, another 6 mobs.. grab gun again. Although they seem to grab it a bit faster.

Even though they have the cutest stompy legs, my robots don't appear to like the kerb at the edge of the pavement or shallow steps much, and will just stand there, stuck, watching their glorious creator die in a hail of sudden aggro.

After some long testing on testserver with my MM's (41 merc/TA, 35 robot/psn, 27 necro/trap, 22 nin/psn, 20 thug/dark), i havent seen any big changes that looked like some good loving fixes for the pets. Robots still do very ok, main issue remains at the ninja's and mercs, still retarts as they are now. And the fun burn patches, disr.grenades and crystals.. still make em go crazy.

Nevro still seem the best bahaved to me (discounting robots cause the sound and the munchkiness of them annoys me) Am considering deleting Merc for Thugs, but then I'd feel too generic, having the mercs makes me rare

Thats my main reason why i dont wanna get rid of my 41 Mercs, added to the fact i'm /TA wich is pretty rare also. Sadly i feel often in parties more like a /TA defender, giving the team more 'boost' with /TA part then with the napkin trowing mercs.

That is the greatest difference i see with ninja, thugs or necro (bots in lesser degree), as most in the team do instant damage, single target DoTs become often obsolete. My Necro partied with high lvl people, even then they add a great addition to the damage output (even ranged they nearly all do instant damage). Same goes for the thugs and ninja. Bots are somewhere in the middle.
