Honestly, Steelclaw... push that 41 to 50. Really. You've been at this so long. Get one to 50. Take a break from the tournament and make the drive to end-game.
I say this not to push you from your enjoyed method of playing, but to keep you sane and get you the milestone you deserve (seriously, after all this restricting you deserve it). -
Quote:I don't recall 'throwing' anything at you. In fact, I didn't even have you in mind when I mentioned the doomsayers because frankly, you aren't one. I don't understand why any of what you said was directed at me, or at Serpine. My post is what it is. A lot of people have really stood out among the negative crowd, and it's not helped the overall forum attitude, and even when the devs acknowledge their concerns and even say they're going to make things right, they find something to ***** about. Seriously, they announce a new zone and a herd of whiners rises up and goes "IT'S GONNA BE PRAETORIAN CO-OP CRAP I JUST KNOW IT!" Enough is enough.Funny, seem to get attitude thrown at me, but hey, that's perfectly *fine.* Why? For *daring* to point out that, oh, there's a problem with all their "new shiny only" mindset, as pointed out numerous times, when there are old zones utterly devoid of, and fully worthy of, attention.
No, but you talking down to me as if I was ten years old was.
Quote:That would be an "example of something to complain about bundled with an announcement of shinies." Thus the "Say they made an announcement" prefacing it.
I respect your opinions and acknowledge you've been a very civil poster in the past. I will still stand by my view that the posts you made towards me do not reflect your normal behavior and were really rather rude, intended or not.
Quote:No reason for it?
I find it incredibly amusing, and since I'm not poking anyone into action I can't be blamed for it!
It's like an early Mother's day! -
Quote:You know, usually you're a civil poster. But for some reason, this thread's made you into one of those people who think they can be superior over the internet. Knock off the attitude, there's absolutely no reason for it.Say they make an announcement:
"In celebration of this that or the other, we're releasing three new costume sets! By the way, to handle server load, only five people can be logged in to any one server at any time."
Yeah. Nobody should complain about that! Shinies, ooooh! Butterflies and puppies and rainbows out of your backside! If you can't handle people criticizing things, perhaps you should avoid forums, TV, radio, music - pretty much any contact with the outside world at all.
That aside, can you explain what you're referring to when you talk about the 5-person-per-server? I assume that it must have something to do with a recent dev post, or an announced feature/change since that sort of analogy would be pretty ridiculous without a fair comparison. -
Allow me to elaborate: the mac client's Cider Wrapper currently has a massive memory leak. Some users (myself included) will crash every ten to fifteen minutes, with thousands (sometimes hundreds of thousands) of RAM pageouts being reported. Any sort of massive precaching would only exacerbate this.

That's because a lot of people got really sick of the whiners, doomsayers, and negative nancies and left to just play the game (I'm even convinced that 80% of the people whining don't actually play the game anymore and pay $15/month to gripe on a public forum). I'm on the verge of being one of those people. Seriously, anyone who posts something snarky/sarcastic/negative in an announcement containing about ten brand new shinies for the game will probably complain about getting $100,000 because it wasn't a check.

Quote:It's going to be a level 20-30 Praetorian zone because the devs are in love with Praetoria and seem to feel that level 20-30 desperately needs more content for people to do once, outlevel, and then go on to run the RWZ and Tina and Maria again to get to 50.

Kinetic Melee.
Excellent knockdown mitigation, great energy damage, and a solid AoE. The -Damage will layer atop your damage resistances and make for a truly powerful combo. I have a Dark/Kin Tanker at 30 and he is unstoppable at +0/x6. -
Quote:I'd like to see the Responsibility Loyalist arc become something more than a gigantic waste of time. This is disheartening to see that they [would] pigeon-hole[] an entire expansion. First Cimerora; now Praetoria. Why create another world map and design such a narrow and limited scope to go with it... then add insult to injury by leading the players on with faction choices when, apparently, they amount to nothing.
I, for one, would like to see the 21-50 Praetorian lore that allows for further exploration of the Resistance/Loyalist (Independent) theme; pertaining to both the self-contained affairs as well as the relationship between Praetorian and Primal Earth.
PEATs.
I would like to see player Praetorians have access to Incarnate Abilities with a set of Trials that center around major assaults against Primal Earth (like the destruction of Skyway City); even if those assaults aren't enough to turn the tide of battle. Or even chronicling the internal struggle between civilization and the DE/Hamidon.
Even if Praetorians aren't given access to Incarnate Abilities right away; I wouldn't mind seeing it happen as a precursor to 'The Coming Storm'.
What I don't want to see happen is Praetoria wasting away to nothing/minimalist use after this particular storyline is done. That would be an astronomical waste of resources and a huge mislead, IMO. -
PM Zwillinger. That man is incredibly good at responding to player inquiries. I wish the support team was more like him.

City of Lord Nemesis. Warhulk AT please.

This is why I do pre-mades (60% of the time, at least) and designate one person to get all acids. Too often do we take out all 10 acid chambers and only 7-8 gates are closed.
Why is it that people REFUSE, ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to look at their power tray for the acids/grenades? -
Warworks <3
Dear ACU: Do that full auto thing again.
ACU: PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM PWOOM
Ahaha! It sounds like Tron! -
I played for one hour last night. I crashed eight times. Eight.
EIGHT!!!
I've stopped using the mac client. I suppose I shouldn't bother posting here anymore, since I won't be using the mac client unless/until the problems it has are fixed. I can't take not being able to play my favorite game for more than five or six minutes at a time.
This is the worst part:
Quote:While I do hope he's wrong, no plans for upgrading the Cider wrapper means no chance of getting these problems fixed. The cider wrapper is the problem; it's the source of the memory leaks, the assertion failures, the improper caching to RAM, and the reason that my machine can run CoX 10 times better in Windows, a much more inefficient OS, than it can on it's native OS.AFAIK, there are no current plans to upgrade the mac client to a newer version of Cider, however I could be wrong.
So, until things change, I'm not playing CoX on a Mac (which saddens me greatly). -

Quote:Oh good!Resolved an Issue which caused a black screen on login for Mac players with ATI Radeon 5000 series card
Can we fix the rest of the Mac Client now? You know, the memory leaks/assertion failures/crashes to desktop/improper caching of textures/inability to run at the same speed as Windows users due to an outdated Cider wrapper? -
Quote:If someone offered you 50 grand to get punched in the teeth 50 times, would you do it? No, because I'm hoping you're smarter than that. Don't tie actual real-life occurrences to a game. Things don't work that way.Because he was just mindlessly grinding content. Whether or not he enjoys doing that is of no account. If the game requires the player (not the character, the player) to get punched in the face 50 times to earn a reward and someone says they enjoy getting punched in the face does that justify the design?
Whether it's grinding or not, if the person doing it enjoys it, it stops being a "grind" and remains what it is to that person: enjoyable.
You can call the devs on design all you want, but the trials are 1000% less "grindy" than I thought they were going to be, and from what I've seen hundreds of other players agree. 35-50 minutes to crank out one BAF is way better than anything else I've seen in any other MMO ever. -
Quote:Ohoho, hell yes. Nothing says "water elemental" like vomiting acidic backwash and spewing forth ice.Makes me wish I had gone DA with my mer character, a scrapper called Pelagic Patriot. But I opted for shields instead. Didn't even think about dark armor as an option at the time.
I presume you'll be getting the Mako patron pool for this guy?
Also sharks. -
Eon Scar, my now-31 Dark/Kin Tanker. His powers are colored Dark Blue (primary) and Sky Blue (secondary) for a watery, murky feel. It's beautiful. I plan to take him into Void Judgement and color it the same way. -
Quote:It's not "mobs standing around and patrolling." The lag comes from the server generating about 60-70 mobs at a time (or more) every few seconds. If they were pre-spawned there would likely be much less lag. Remember, the ITF lag only happens under the Bridge where spawns will rush out of the doors when each General is killed. This is why you can herd up both of the towers in the ITF'S last mission with relatively no lag; the mobs have been generated already. The enemies under the Bridge and in the BAF's second phase are not, so the server has to spit them out.To my understanding this is server-side, and there is no excuse for it. It's like lag hill in the ITF; do we really need all those Romans standing around and patrolling the edges of the map, where most teams will never encounter them? Creating content your systems can't handle is a failure in design, period.

The reward table keeps giving me uncommons. Kinda tired of it.
