Yes. It's new and shiny and I will readily admit that I dive on new powersets like a fat guy going after a velour jogging suit. The entire set sounds like it'll play completely different from every weapons set out there. Considering every weapons set is just "press button to smash" on about 7 different degrees of power, I'm eagerly looking forward to it.

Well, I'm sure Jacque the Rapier won't be using Titan Weapons.

I have a level 45 Broadsword Scrapper named Andret whom I'll be making an alt of. I can't bring myself to delete after level 40, so I'll be making Andret Unleashed. Unless the Titan Weapons set really appeals to me, in which case I'll delete Andret's original form and remake him as Titan Weapons/Regeneration. To make a long story extremely short, he's from a planet that's basically a mix between Sparta and the Mass Effect series. Lots of tech armor, cool-looking buildings, and tons upon tons of close quarters combat (we don't need no stinking projectiles). Andret is a master of swords, and each of his costumes has a different blade (Rularuu, Tech, Vanguard, CoT, Rikti). Making him into Titan Weapons would show off his strength as well as his love of blades.

Yes! I have a level 35 copy of my main, Nalrok Ath'Zim that is Demon Summoning/Dark Miasma instead of Dark Melee/Dark Armor. In all the things I've written for big ol' Nalrok, he's usually made a colossal axe out of nearby objects at least once per happening. He either refines it from metals nearby and molds it into something sinister looking, or he just picks up something heavy and tears one end so it's sharp (see the driveshaft of a bus wedged into a pressed stack of shredded stop signs). When Titan Weapons lands, he'll be getting ready to axe people some questions.

I'm really sorry about that last line.

  3. Just what the title says. Hell, I would even be fine with going back to an earlier version of the mac client (circa I14) as the previous ones were more stable. Lion is coming and I have no doubt even more problems will arise.

This needs to be pushed to the devs, pushed to Transgaming, pushed SOMEWHERE so the mac client will stop being left to gather dust.

Seriously, this thread should have stayed dead. In about 4-5 days it will boil back down to an internet pissing contest between those who don't mind the trials and those who do, filled with nothing but "he said she said" posts.

Then again my negative reaction to them is probably just because I suck at them and hate the immersion ruining business of having some guy barking orders in my ear while playing.

    Success [KIR]

I ran one. It'll be the ONLY one I'll ever run. 90 minutes of my life and a common component? F*** that. I'll stick to BAF's.

Literally two out of literally three.

    :/

Not enough to bolster your argument either.

(Besides, can we call that first one a sword? It's a rusty jagged razorsaw with sharp objects stuck in it.)

I'm hoping one of the models is the business end of a CAT excavator. You know, the shovel.

... also we need a really big shovel.

The best example of this was the AE Baby influx.

Everyone and their brother leveled Blasters, Scrappers and Controllers (heroside at the time) to 50 within hours. Not like 20 hours either; 8 hours or less.

I have never seen such horrid playing. A Blaster that drops Bonfire on every spawn? A /Regen Scrapper with all 4 Medicine powers, 3 attacks and Confront? A /Rad Controller who says the "toggles cost too much to use and don't do much anyway."

I think you're underestimating people's capacity to get frustrated, make mistakes and throw in the towel when it comes to a game like this.

    Thanks Big Ben.

I've been working doubles lately, so I don't get to read the forums too often. If I choose to quote something a day old in the same thread, I will do so. What's the problem?

Because the people that take advantage of that will be thrown into a totally new powerset that they may or may not have played before. If they've played it, great! They know what they're doing.

If they don't, they'll fumble around trying to figure it out and the majority of folks will be REALLY mad they paid for a Powerset Change service because "their new powers suck."

Just trust me on this, you HAVE to crawl before you walk and you HAVE to walk before you run. There is no shortcut, you'll fall on your face.

It's very easy to repetitively bash a hammer and chisel into a rock.

It's extremely difficult to sculpt a replica of the human form while doing so.

That's the key difference; it's not hard to level, no. But it IS more difficult to firmly grasp every ability of your AT's primary/secondary combination, harness the strengths, and fix the weaknesses.

    Don't believe me?

Have a friend with a Claws/Fire Brute AE powerlevel you a Dark Melee/Dark Armor brute. Come back to me once you've got the character's playstyle, IO build, tactics, and preferred enemy group to fight down.
