    Interesting find.
    Really now?

Huh. Well, whatever the case may be that's going in a bug report.
  2. Alright, I seem to have figured it out: Tanker Dark Embrace is not correctly enhancing Toxic Resistance unless you're using IO's.

I asked a buddy with a 42 Dark/Stone to check it out; with IO's his Toxic scaled properly. With SO's it remained at 20%.

Here's a screenshot; Dark Embrace is now showing 23% Toxic Res, when the Enhancement Window shows 25%. This means DO'S and SO's are not being factored in to the Toxic Res, but IO's are properly affecting it.

I'm going to push for 22 soon so I can slot in an SO and confirm myself, just in case this is an edge issue. From what I've gathered, this only affects Tankers and the Toxic Res can only be changed with Invention Origin enhancements.
  3. Oddly enough, I have a 35 Kin/Regen and CS seems to crit a LOT for me. That's just me though. About every 4th/5th CS will refresh Build Up for me.
  4. So, I've been running a Dark Armor/Kin Melee Tanker for the past few days.

I love it! It's so hard to kill, it looks AMAZING colored for a water-themed character, and it's so easy to just stand there and watch Death Shroud tick away at my foes.

Now, I've noticed a number discrepancy with Dark Embrace. Base numbers on Dark Embrace are:

    30% Smashing Resist
    30% Lethal Resist
    20% Negative Energy Resist
    20% Toxic Resist

I'm currently level 18 with 2 level 20 Dual Origin Resistance enhancements in Dark Embrace, which brings the Neg/Tox resists to 24.40%.

Here's the problem. When I look at my Enhancement window, Toxic Resistance is at 24.40%. When I look in Combat Attributes, Toxic Resistance is a flat 20%. Can any other Dark Armor enthusiasts (Dechs, I'm looking at you) confirm this is happening to them?

My 50 Dark Armor Brute's Toxic Res is scaling properly, and I have a friend with a Spine/DA Scrapper who confirmed that her Toxic Res is scaling properly as well. I tried using different enhancements, wondering if maybe DO's were bugged in that particular power; using a level 20 Res IO didn't change it, still 20% flat.

  6. Darkest Night is fantastic. Gloom is also a high-DPA ST attack, and is a nice pre-req for DN.

True, but I imagine there'd be ONE case somewhere (I can't think of where) that'd be problematic. Not sure how or where or what, but when you change stuff that much a problem always crops up.
  8. Check CuppaManga's guides at the top of the Mac Forum and try everything listed there. I had a similar issue and that fixed it.
  9. I'll buy it. In fact, I'll go out right now and buy two stuffed bunnies and donate it to Toys For Tots as a pre-emptive move for this 'Holiday Pack' idea.
  10. It's a political thing. Allowing males to wear female costume options would drastically change the ESRB rating of this game.

Don't blame the ESRB, either; blame soccer moms.

    Umm...

Was really looking forward to playing today. Now I get to go buy groceries and presents and will miss out on the only day during the week I have to play.

An official announcement would have been nice.

If he can hit through Lucks they are of limited utility - in fact I did not find them very useful. If the Curse of Weariness can run through an entire tray of blues in two minutes, this makes blues not all that useful when fighting Holtz. Elementary concept.

If Trappy never lands his Total-Focus [or whatever it is]-O'-Doom on any of your alts, outstanding. I am happy for you. That does not mean 1. That it does not exist, and 2. that he cannot land it on you multiple times during the same encounter. He sure landed it on my Defender and also on my Stalker, more than once. Everyone else without heavy shielding brought a temp power when solo and BOOM, "mission complete."

Problem solved. And intent of mission? Massive fail.
Guess what? You're the one who said the 5% hit chance was a moot point. When, in fact, it wasn't. Here, check it out.

Swing and a miss, but this time with more feeling.

I'm gonna try one more time, this time in big text.

Because of the random number generator there is always a 5% chance for any enemy to strike you. This means that Trapdoor can hit you through an entire tray of purples should the random number generator roll between 95 and 100.

So as it was said, the RNG did not smile on you. How will you tie this to the topic at hand?

I'll answer for you: You won't. You'll keep making things up and talking about things that don't bolster your argument (or lack thereof).

I might, if I were looking for a fight over such a trivial idea. But not today.
He was saying that even the lowest of minions can hit you if the Random Number Generator doesn't turn in your favor. So, because of that, Trapdoor can hit you no matter HOW many purples you pop if the RNG says so. 5% universal hit chance.

You, however, decided to interpret that as something completely different.
  17. I'll shoot you my latest Dark Armor tanker build when I get home. Until then, I predict Dechs Kaison will be here soon...

Relax. Seriously, just relax. This is a flame thread. You've gone from arguing to screaming out the same thing over and over regardless of what anyone says. I'm not even going to egg you on, you're way over the threshold of sensibility here.

So my Dark/Dark/Soul, who runs... 7 toggles at once isn't allowed to use Recovery Serum when Dark Consumption is down?

At least when I made my L2P statement I didn't shove that kind of garbage down anyone's throat. They're temp powers that drop like crazy. Go kill FIFTEEN minions and one will probably drop. Everyone can get them, and they can get them with little effort. Your post is fail.

EDIT: Granted, since I got my Cardiac Radial, I've since eliminated my end issues.

We have been told many times that people have "been told how to complete this mission with no problem whatsoever." In case someone new to the thread missed the actual strategies that work on very squishy characters with no +KB powers, here they are:

*Prior to beginning the arc, turn your difficulty down to -1.

*Bring one or more of the following: 1. Friends, if you have any on at the time you want to run this who are not busy doing other stuff. 2. Shivans. 3. A Vanguard HVAS. 4. Both shivans and a HVAS. Boom, "MISSION COMPLETE."

Ignore all sternum-beating, "I iz l33t!" wild unverifiable claims, etc: just do this and problem solved.
You're so confusing I think I'd rather try to converse with a purple-afro'd elephant with a bowling ball for face.

You weren't there, you know nothing about what went down when [for instance] my Claws Stalker went through this mission. Please stop acting like you do, because you and I both know you were not there.

Also tired of this assumption that one can carry enough blues to overcome 5 minutes' worth of the Curse of Weakness, or to overcome Trappy's +regen. Perhaps your people have a 50-inspiration tray, mine sure don't and so non sequiter. Thanks.
    non sequitur*

And the assumption isn't an assumption. YOU CAN carry enough reds/purples/blues/anythings to pull through. If you get the Curse of Weakness, here's a novel idea: Go snag a Curse Breaker. No merits? Even more novel idea: Take a break and come back with no curse and a fresh perspective.

You also need to consider that many people have posted that they've run Trappy on a low-damage low-survivability character with no trouble. You have again demonstrated what you're preaching against; you assume you know everything that goes on with US and that must not apply to YOU. You can say whatever you want, but you're acting as if your hard time is unable to be overcome with any sort of tactics other than the one that has since been removed from the game.

Go buy insps. Get help. Set to -1. Do something other than say "This character CAN'T DO IT no matter what anyone says or suggests" because A) that won't get you anywhere and B) methods of circumventing your problems have been pointed out.

That being said, I have to laugh at all of this.

I laugh at the designers who got all butthurt that people used long existing tools and techniques to trivialize an encounter in a one-time arc that is...well trivial.

I laugh at anyone who complains about this change, but defended how the devs crap all over melee ATs in the Apex finale and the new Winter Event.

I laugh at the munchkins telling everyone else to L2P. They might not get the joke now, but when they're buying server transfers in a couple months they may.

I also laugh at the devs as a group, because I've seen what comes from using munchkins as the balance point and catering to their whims.

Lastly, there's Positron. After seeing what his idea of "epic" endgame and giving 'moar power' to players involves: Triple digit faceplants, legions of purple mooks, more demonic spiders and old NPCs elevated up even further above player characters.

Indeed, that is the greatest joke here of all. Too bad I'm not laughing at it.
I laugh at your post simply because it's a basket of fail and wrong, and has already been pointed out as such.

Ethereal Shift is even better for that, though. I guess.
It's a massive end hog, it sends enemies all over the place, and in general in almost all situations it's more useless than it is useful, especially for a melee toon.
