One of the biggest Spider-Man stories of the 1990s was Maximum Carnage, a way-too-long story about the Venom knock-off Carnage...
Sure looks like their taking plenty of jabs at the series to me.
  2. While the article may have some good points. The whole thing falls apart and loses it's credibility when it disses the Maximum Carnage series.

I own two full sets of Maximum Carnage (not TPB mind you). The series was so popular it even spawned it's own video game adaptation released for the then popular SEGA Genesis and Super Nintendo.

I... *ahem* sorry, my nerdrage kicked in and I felt I needed to defend something I loved from my childhood... I think I had and was trying to make a point, but then my ADD kicked in...

    *shrug*

I think I'll go read Maximum Carnage now.

This is pretty much what I was trying to convey with my first post. This is why I need a personal writer. What I think, what I say and what I type never appear to be come out the same.

I'm sorry, I thought a discussion thread was a place the players were allowed to express their opinions, rather their opinion differs from one another or not. I guess I was wrong.

    "Yes, more free stuff! Gimme!!!"

Is that more within the lines of the mindless 'drone' response you were looking for?

    Dear Paragon Studios,

I have been a loyal customer for nearly 8 years now. I love this game, and although I may stray from it from time to time when a new game comes out, I will always come back. I will be here until the servers are shut down, you have my word.

With that said, I'm being as honest as I can be when I say, as much as I love the idea of these Freebie Fridays, the stuff offered thus far is just more 'junk' that would farther clutter up my Character items window.

When you 'gave' them away in Super Packs and still very few people used them, that should have been a huge indicator that the majority of the player base didn't want them.
  6. This looks good! While many may not like Quantum of Solace I greatly enjoyed it. I look forward to Daniel Craig's third installment as Bond.

    /nitpick

Unrelated to Bond, but related to the trailer.. what the heck is the deal lately with all trailer's using the same *thump* *thump* throughout the preview? ... It's actually starting to seem a little lame...

Toy Master would have significantly more debuff than Mercenaries has to offer. On top of that, it's clear by the release of Beast Mastery that clever use of gimmicky mechanics it not out of the question for a Mastermind set.

With that in mind, my one chance to present this set was foiled when during the Create A Powerset Workshop at the Player Summit they specifically stated "No Mastermind sets."

    Bucket List

Of the regular "Master of"s I need,
    • Master of the 5th Column Strike Force
    • Master of Lady Grey's Task Force

As for incarnate trials I need,
    • Television Addict
    • Master of TPN Campus**

**Granted as soon as I earn Television Addict.

My badger is Patriot America, my Broadsword/Regen Scrapper who still uses a very old none Defense based build. Any attempts at the above badges I would want to bring him, but I can assist with other Mo attempts with anything from my Rad/Sonic GM killer to my number of sturdy Tankers.

    Eye of the Storm

If you want a different animation for Eye of the Storm, take Hover. Problem solved, and those of us who like the actual break dancing animation can keep it. See win/win.
  11. I don't know if this is a new 'unannounced' feature or just something I never knew existed but shortly after i22 dropped I found myself digging through the keymapping options one night while flying around Dark Astoria, when I discovered the 'On Demand Click-to-Move' option. I don't recall what it was originally bound to but I have it bound to V, Holding down V and clicking on the screen sets a transparent blue waypoint that your character will travel to. This is especially neat if your character is a flyer.

I think you are confusing Symbiotic with Symbiote

    Also, there's this.

Finally, do we know much about the upcoming powerset other than it's name and the use of the Absorb mechanic?

I never went digging through the PIGGs, I was fortunate enough to see it linked in-game while on beta. BTW, Symbiotic Armor sounds WAY better. The term 'bio' is commonly associated with using the rest room. They really want to avoid ANY sort of connection between the two, unless they want people to start referring to Bio Armor as **** Armor. Just saying.

They only acknowledged the existence of a few of them. Water Blast, Nature Affinity and Symbiotic Armor (which people seem to be referring to as Bio Armor).

If memory serves, there are still a few others but I won't mention them here.

Also to those who seemed to be concerned with Pollyanna Matronic's comments about enjoying the perks of being a villain, I had ustream in the background 'listening' in when she was up and even I could sense the 'tongue and cheek' humor in her comments.

It's not so much a 'nerf' now that you've taken global recharge out of the equation. Thank you for that.

I'm still on the 'wait and see' fence though, as I'm not a huge fan of in-game mechanics being changed long after they've been established simply because you folks introduced a more complex mechanic for the Paragon Market bought IOs what was making them 'pay-to-win' IOs.

The values I would be looking for would be either 47% or 61% both with a DDR of 95% for either the normal soft cap (45%) or the incarnate soft cap (59%)

I also would look at 49% as that would put me 1 luck away from 61%.
Granted 55% means being almost any one single outside buff away from the incarnate cap.

I like to have a Kismet +6% somewhere in the build.
Given recent changes (making it far less costly) might be worth looking into a Glad +3%def (the Glad plus Hover when active (if added to build) would put you at 59+% as would adding Maneuvers. Either Hover or Maneuvers could replace Assault.

No Mids access right now so hard to comment further.

    Doomguide
The 55% wasn't really a goal, it just happened to occur with the builds slotting. I could easily drop Weave and be at 47%, but wanting Tough and the various other tools for some Resistance I might as well take Weave as well. As for swapping Assault for Maneuvers, as mentioned in the OP one of my goals was damage, and with Assault I have 40% before Form of the Body (55% after). I'd say that's fairly respectable.

The Kismet proc is something to consider, I will agree. However, I'm not too concerned with reaching the Incarnate softcap, so I don't really need the Gladiator's Armor proc.

I will see if I can spare a slot for the Kismet, thanks for the suggestion!
  19. I usually don't post my builds on here, because frankly I'm stubborn and don't like taking build advice.. until now.

My goal for this build was to get a moderate Damage buff to make up for the lack of a build up. While also building for Recharge to have a decent attack chain, and also having plenty of +HP and +Regen bonuses for survivability. It's nice not having to slot for Defense bonuses.

A couple of things that I am dead set on:
    • Must have Flight.
    • No Hasten. I cannot express how much I hate taking Hasten on SR or Shield characters who have to maintain their mez protection.
    • No Innocuous Strikes. Not a big fan of the animation. (probably in the minority here)
    • No Elude. Not really needed when I have 55% Defense.

That being noted, here's the build:
