COMBINED
Tasks
- Level 54 Archvillains / Heroes should now appear in Task / Strike Forces again.
- Added restrictions to prevent player difficulty from affecting Task / Strike Forces
Ok, the fact that badgers pulled down a nerf makes me laugh so hard I can't breathe.Too bad all the PvP munchkins missed this day, because, I bet their comments would be quite entertaining.
Keep letting them know that you don't like something and they will fix it eventually. You can bet there are more issues going on with this whole TF system since SSK and that they will correct it, just let them implement their quick fix and work on a suitable longterm solution. -
It happens on the test server all of the time, Dave. They'll be back soon enough.

Quote:I didn't have very much lag at all on the Mothership Raids, noe did I get Mapserved very much before Issue 16. I will admit there was some complaints of these issues from others before Issue 16, but I personally have noticed a SIGNIFIGANT increase in lag, bandwidth traffic, and server issues.
We can wax poetical all night about why it does this or that or what is the cause of the lag, but since none of us know the stats on the game servers, oe the NCSoft Network or have actually SEEN the game source code, we are literally stabbing in the dark (let's hope Jack Emmertt is somewhere in that dark).
What we all need to do, (as Stray suggested last night during the Mothership Raid) is to petition the Devs like crazy! Whining on the forums has a slim possibility of reaching the Devs ears, but if you submit a Petition every time you are subjected to a large amount of lag, eventually the Dev will do something about it. The more petitions they get, the higher on the priority scale the problem goes. And also, if they are able to see the situations, times, and variety of effect users, they can better pin-point the problem. As an IT professional, I always go by the motto "When diagnosing an Issue, too much information is ALWAYS better than not enough" and I'm sure several of the Devs would agree with me.
In short. Griping here is nice to help you vent and get things off your chest, (and I'm not at all knocking anyone for that, we all need to vent our frustrations) but venting with petitions at the moment is much more effective way of getting movement from the technical personnel about it.
Just my $.02
We now return you to your regular forum day.

SHENANIGANS!
This is the best advice on this type of situation posted to date. Sending in petitions until they fix it is the only way that it will be (Although, if stabbing Emmert in the dark can get it fixed, where's the Bowie and the line?). -
Give me the lowest 30 you have and I'll give you a 20. I have one laying around waiting for a new character concept. I can always do an IO swap like I do with Stealth/KB Protection IOs and you won't have to spend hours on TFs. Or hell, its the 5-year anniversay. I can spare it, no problem.

Back on topic:
Solgath, for any future characters you start, I would say this. Stamina can be a big game changer and you will definitely want to get it early, however Serrate is correct in that you waste too many early powers while leveing up to get it at 20. However, have no fear, there is a solution.
Play and experiment with whatever you want until 20-22, then use your second build option to actually take the powers you want. This way, new players can find out what they want, make a build they like, and not have to worry about respecs. Since most of the vets have several vet respecs on every character, many of us lose sight of what it was like to be without them.
FWIW, Willpower needs neither Fitness nor Fighting to work effectively, however, YMMV. -

Make it a level 20 Miracle so that they can play with it at 17.
-
Quote:Yes it does, however, I am glad that I get a chance to PuG some when my usual teammates are not online. It really does make you glad to have them when they are.Granted I also believe that after playing with certain people for a long time (too long in some cases ) you start to develop a Hivemind or Swarm intelligence of sorts. Which helps.

I sell any purples I get as drops (which is usually in a TF or on Tanker Tuesday) because purples are a complete waste to me. I have 11 50s just laying around taking up space most of the time, so "purpling" them is pointless.
Raising the drop rate of purple sets isn't all that useful, unless you have a love affair with playing 50s. Letting us keep our set bonuses when EX'd with all IO sets, now THAT would be useful. -
Ace, check and see if we can get one of the Devs to join us. Nothing special, all they have to do is come and play with us as a Tanker on the 5th year anniversary.

Quote:Yes, the whole Detention Field thing from that "Force Field" controller the other day did seem to bother you.To put it more succinctly, I'd rather have a Fun Player looking to have a Good Time, than a Well-Known Player looking to do everything Perfect, but I'll take Unknown to Me Players on occasion to meet New Ones.
Personally, I don't mind things like that, however, if you're going to play a Force Field user with a 33-month badge, it would be capital if you would actually bubble the team more than twice a night. Its like playing a Rad with no toggles, it just doesn't make any sense.

Quote:So far, this is as close as it gets to the other side, D.My initial reaction would be the player. But when I think about it, it's a combination of both.
Do I want Stray kitten playing thermal or Silas? And is also depends on the context, are we PvPing? Or are we pveing? Is it a Master of LRSF? Or is it a lolITF?
My more often than not, I'll say the player rather than the toon. -
My Dark/Fire is 40 and I found life tons easier with a Miracle unique in Health. They are worth more than anything at 240 merits for a level 20, which you can slot at 17.

Quote:Which would not be much of an issue if we never lost set bonuses, since we could use all of the trash-level range recipes to mix and match instead of just selling them. Here's the rub tho... salvage prices have collapsed. It was getting down right silly for a while, but with farming going back to PI, the salvage is returning to the market. How ever with recipe drops being borked, those are still in short supply.
Buy salvage and use tickets for random recipe rools. Got it, thanks MR. -
In AE, tickets concern me more than XP at the moment. I have a 35 scrapper who will have XP turned off on the 9th bubble so that I can get plenty of salvage or random recipe rolls in the level range that I like my sets in. I could buy them, but seeing common salvage going for 100k apiece sometimes bugs me too much to do that.
Now, if we could get the Devs to give us our set bonuses no matter what level we Exemplar to, things like this would not seem necessary. -
Can you Elaborate on that or are you trying to channel ELF-STALKER here?
-
The changes ruined so much fun here in the forums without the PvP Uber-munchkins posting.
Now, if we want pure inane drivel, all we have is ELF, Bud, and Felecia to posts to amuse us. Such a shame, really.

Quote:I would say that's a pretty good assessment.Playing Daniel Webster here, but how could you not have expected AE could be farmed? And if you expected it would be farmed, then you can argue it was an intended consequence, otherwise the Devs would have built in ways to limit or stop it. I argue that the Devs wanted to move farming out of the regular game and isolate it in AE, but they didn't realize how much easier they made farming and didn't anticipate how much it blew up the game.

I have 35 characters (Well, 11 of them are 50s and semi-retired so all they do is take up space most of the time.) I play on Champion with a single placeholder at the moment (My Ninja/Pain isn't doing it for me, it seems.). Now, if they gave us the option of more character slots, I would jump on that in a heartbeat.
