Anyone else spend the 20 bucks to get 5 more MA slots?

I haven't even used the three I have, to be honest.

I was thinking about it, but then blew the $20.00 to support my altitis, man I sure hope "Going Rogue" comes soon (before I burn through these slots )

I filled all three mission arc slots and then rotated in at least 3 missions arcs using the three mission arc slots we were given.
I am work on more mission arcs to rotate in and out of the mix.

Any hope of getting an Arc rated several hundred times amidst the sea of of hundred-thousands is slim unless one actively promotes and runs full teams repeatedly through their own missions. I have no patience for this behavior. My Arcs are not one-mission so-called "very short" or "short" arcs. The shortest of my presently posted arcs is "long" while the others are "very long". I enjoy making mission arcs for the AE and I enjoy running them, but, no-farmer, I have no desire to even run my own missions so many times as to give them the votes required for their advancement to anything other than normal-AE mission state. Having said this, running my "long" and "very long" arcs are quite time consuming.
Therefore, there is no reason for me to buy more slots as the votes and ratings seem fairly useless on many levels. Even if I wasn't tight with my money at this point, I would not buy more AE slots even if there was hope that some of my arcs would one day become DEV's Choice or Hall of Fame (which would free up mission arc slot so that I could post another mission without the need to buy more slots).

I'm sure that there are those that had all three of their arc slots locked-up with banned missions that did buy more AE slots. Through this manner, they could repost the arcs that caused their slots to be locked and return to the behavior that they were involved with before that mission arc was locked. A small monetary penalty for some; more revenue that the DEVs can use to make this an even better game for the rest of us at least.

I have 35 characters (Well, 11 of them are 50s and semi-retired so all they do is take up space most of the time.) I play on Champion with a single placeholder at the moment (My Ninja/Pain isn't doing it for me, it seems.). Now, if they gave us the option of more character slots, I would jump on that in a heartbeat.

This.

I had several ideas for stories, but my first (down there in the sig, thank you for looking) was really fun to work on, took a long time to write, even longer to polish, and even more time to fix when anti-farming nerfs screwed it up. And then I spent a lot of time trying to promote it. A LOT of time.

For all that effort, it still sits with less than 200 plays.

The idea of going through all that again with another arc, only to end up in Law Of Diminishing Returns Land and see it sit at fewer than 100 plays...? No thank you. If the Devs had not TOTALLY lost interest in picking out arcs for Dev's Choice, I might be encouraged to try it in the hopes of getting a DC nod, which would mean more plays.

In short, I am very disappointed with MA. Since the Great MA Badge Nerf, I have little to no reason to play MA arcs. And with the mathematical near impossibility of getting my arcs played no matter how good they may be, I have even less interest in creating arcs.

My wife has 15 and has resorted to server transfers after maxing out slot expansions on Champ.
Neither of us have popped for MA slots though.

I paid for them. Unfortunately, recent penalizations to custom critters have left me with buyer's remorse and less willingness to make arcs.

I do hope they sort out the adjustments to the MA so that my critters are worth the challenge they present. I do love making them, fighting them. But I digress.

So, Yez. Extra arcs. I'm maxed out, but strangely enough haven't used all slots. Making good arcs is a lot of work, and to be honest, keeping arcs valid is work too. I have only so much play time, and other game content has taken precedence as of late.

Not just the recent nerfs, removing some of the maps (like the burning forest) really hit hard. Some of those maps were great storytelling maps. Now we have alot of generic maps that really dont help the story because they lack "uniqueness".

When I'm ready, I'll be maxing out how many slots I can get, and I still won't have enough available for all the story arcs I'm currently producing...

I'm still making MAs because I've got a prolonged arc of sorts (the Library Restoration Project) that is two arcs done with two arcs (one based in Dark Astoria, the last based in Nerva!) to go. Since I didn't want to purge my birthday and pirate single-door missions, I went with buying more slots.

As regards to the drop in XP for custom characters, so? The storytelling is the objective... well, at least for the Creator...

Definitely going to be getting the maximum number of arc slots eventually. When I'm done I hope to be able to level a toon from 1 to 50 playing my own arcs, without using power leveling exploits or getting bored doing the same thing over and over. It's really fun to tweak the game mechanics to do crazy things you can't with dev generated missions like if you want to assist a Winter Horde invasion of a Rikti base or build your own army of widly assorted Mastermind henchman to take down a GM solo.

By the way, Library Restoration Project is amazing. Keep up the great writing.
