Quote:He also has a double pattern on his top and pants, and a unique belt buckle. Basically everything he wears, save for the gloves and boots, is unique to him.A couple others have already answered the question.
What it comes down to is, just about every signature character has a costume piece that is unique to them, and we will likely never gain access to it.
Statesman's faceplate (because it's not really a full helm), Recluse's helmet, Synapse's wristbands, Manticore's mask, Ghost Widow's hair, most of Mako's body, Scirocco's sword and headdress, and so on and so forth.
The unique pieces are only seen on the signature characters and nowhere else. (Statesman also has a unique cape) -
Quote:I have a different theory. The argument that any change is just going to annoy a portion of your subscriber base to the point that they quit is a dead end. For any of those changes, including the introduction of endgame, the argument can be easily adapted to both sides. For all of those that are annoyed by the introduction and quit, there is likely a significant portion that have been annoyed by the lack of repeatable endgame over the last seven years, who have also quit. Thus, the argument would leave the developers in a position where they simply couldn't win, and should be completely discarded.I have a theory. It's risky, but I believe that people who like the game, but quit over the Incarnate trials will come back. /ragequits aren't usually permanent in my experience. Because like I've been saying for months. If you liked the game before the Incarnate trials, I don't see what's changed to make you suddenly stop being able to find fun in the game.
Especially since, as folks have mentioned the trials have slowed down since people have capped out and moved back into other content. -
Quote:Well, it exists, but it's incredibly slow and expensive. You could earn shards solo and use Inf to convert those to threads to use to unlock all 4 new slots, and then build them up at a glacial pace toward the higher tiers.Yet that would be a distinct improvement since, at the moment, a solo option does not even EXIST.
It sounds about as fun as DIY oral surgery to me. -
The funny part is that the Mirror Spock, the one who had the goatee, really wasn't evil. He was still logical, not motivated by ambition to kill his superior and usurp his position, and was receptive to "standard" Kirk's reasoning when Kirk attempted to persuade him to work for change.

Quote:The Incarnate thing was first alluded to prior to Issue 3. When they first introduced the concept of the Epic Archetypes, and started rattling off all of the ones that they were planning on. I'm not even sure that something from 5 months after launch is definitely a retcon, and not a case of having a purposefully vague bit of story misdirection used as a placeholder because they didn't want to reveal everything at that time. Some of the later stuff with Incarnates, and thus the Well, being the source of the other origins does smack of retcon, though.Yes, that was Cole's first origin story. When CoV came out 18 months later, they retconned Statesman and Lord Recluse as drinking buddies and co-adventurers who discovered Pandora's Box. Opening it let all that power into the world, creating the new era of demigods we call superheroes. Drinking from the Well of Furies was in there somewhere, too, but it wasn't the source of all power.
In the beginning of the game, it seemed like they were going to go with "multiple sources of power" with all the talk of ancient African deities and such, but that got abandoned. Now they're trying to shoehorn everything into the Well of Furies nonsense, even to the point of making the Well not an actual water well but some vague "locus of power." Which talks. Or something.
That really is an excellent example of a retcon that's gone too far. -
No AVs, and Freakshow as opponents? I can bring another Tanker and not feel bad.

Add Sentinel to the list of words that are still forbidden. I can see why Sentinel by itself would be forbidden, but as a part of a multi-word name, it's ridiculous. I assure you that my Azure Sentinel is not in any way a giant mutant-hunting robot.

So, I went and got purposely held by a Master Illusionist on my Sonic/Energy Blaster and the first 2 ranged attacks worked fine. I wasn't close enough when held to use the Tier 1 Secondary.

Quote:Explanation here. Not complaining. Fully aware of the possibility of a wipe. What I'm not aware of is being wiped and being replaced by characters I never moved over myself. Since I've never heard of this before I thought maybe it's a bug or something.
Beta was loaded with a copy of Justice to test Global Server access for the list merge. -
I did much the same. Taking my badge total, everything a hero should be able to get minus Passport, and added Passport to get the the total possible, then went through the various pages on Badge-hunter subtracting villain and alignment stuff, and ignoring the Praet-only Accomplishments, Achievements and Accolades, as well as Bug Hunter, Passport, Celebrant, and 8 Veteran badges. However, I think I forgot to carry over a total from one of those pages, as a second look gave me about 32 more to exclude.
I'd now put the total at approximately 998 for GATE-keeper.
A rough estimate of what my next-highest character, one who has never touched any Vigilante or other tip missions, could possibly obtain, who has those 8 Veteran badges, but doesn't have 2 CoH Anniversary badges or the CoV Anniversary badge that GATE-keeper could have, puts her total possible at about 1009 without touching the alignment system beyond Hero tips and Morality missions. It's close, I'd expect 1003, given the above estimate and qualifiers. -
Rough estimate is 1030 total for you, removing things like Bug Hunter and Passport, as well as taking away the first Anniversary badge and at least 8 Veteran Rewards. I might have slipped and added in a couple of Mayhem side objective badges. Assumptions include that you never went even to Vigilante, or even did a single Vigilante tip, even with another player, and that your account hasn't lapsed since you first got it. It does include VIP, so you can subtract 1 for that if you don't have it. Confidence level is +/- 3 badges for the total.

Quote:I just tested my Ion Judgement on Test and the Reactive interface was still ticking on the dummies for 0 damage. like always. That character has no other ones to test with, though. If this is the same as what is currently on test, Interface no longer is working with Judgement.
I tested Diamagnetic 100% chance with Pyronic and Ionic Judgement on the RWZ dummies and never received the visual indication of its activity or that it was active from the power analyzer temp.
Also noted, there are clipping issues with tuxes and the steampunk female chest details. -
Dick became Robin at 12, and Nightwing at 19. As far as I know, he was a college dropout, which was part of the reason for the estrangement from Bruce. That already takes away at least 7 of your estimated Batman years.
Edit: It's a fool's errand to try and nail down these times. Editorial and writing staff at DC don't even agree about a lot of them, and disregard established facts on a pretty regular basis. One of the people in charge of current continuity wrote a story a few years ago that stated, by the transitive property, that Crisis on Infinite Earths was within the last 5 years, for example. -

Quote:It actually will add players if you aren't full, and they happen to be in the queue right when you start. What it won't do is add players with the join in progress function for a League that is not full but above the minimum. On Union it is the same, a big fat no, it's virtually useless since all the trial runs are premade and the LFG tool won't simply just add in a few members if the trial is a few short and will only fill a trial up to minimum team size, never over that.
It isn't working like it was apparently intended, to throw together a mix of players directly from the queue to start a trial without pre-forming a core group. It seems a little underdone to me. A couple of tweaks to it, like the ability to set selected size, larger than the minimum, for the Leagues before it will prompt you to accept, and allowing you to at least zone while waiting in it, would go a long way. Making it so that it would pull you out of a SG base, or even a mission, would be even better. -
Probably a simple design limitation. My guess is that the gold star goes to the leader of whichever team the first person to load in is on.
We had another failed run tonight, after a couple of really scarily-close calls on Escapees. This one wasn't so much a problem of tactics as it was of damage. It was just taking us forever to whittle down the AVs. This time they respawned because our collective DPS was lower than anyone was used to, it seems. and it was so low that we simply didn't have enough time to take them down again. -
It depends, MISH. I joined a League that should have been able to handily beat the BAF last night, but it failed. A leader who wouldn't speak up, and when he did he had some ideas that weren't the greatest. People who seem to be afraid of some debt from the towers at level 50, for whatever reason, running around and dragging the AVs with them. We almost recovered but then dropped Siege down way too fast, so he died while Nightstar was still at 6%, so we missed getting her down in time, and he respawned. This was a normal run, no fancy Separated attempts, no specific instructions to go after Strong and Pretty, even. It was just disorganized at a level that I haven't seen in weeks.

Yes, that was the one that they premiered on Disney XD today.

What those publishing companies excel at is promotion. No writer is going to be able to self-promote at near the level that Random House is. If you want your book to be read, you need to get people to notice it among the myriad other books that come out every week.
For some media, you probably need a corporate backer to even afford to make the end product palatable. This is especially true for certain genres of movies and music. A low-budget indie film or album will work fine in certain genres, but only the major corporations have the kind of money necessary for effects-heavy movies, or for the more advanced recording studio technology, and trained personnel to operate it well, that a lot of Top 40 music requires. -
I have that IO on my Controller, and get no error.
-
Don't look at me. I've never even attempted to lead a Separated run. I tend to like lower than full membership, and I find that that particular badge actually goes better with a full League.
It sounds like your leader didn't explain his strategy for Escapees well enough. I've been guilty of this. People are very used to door camping for that phase, while I prefer the Gauntlet method that Big has dubbed Zone D. I have forgotten to make this absolutely clear prior to starting one and came close to failing that phase as a result of the confusion. Door camping brings to mind the Trick or Treat part of Halloween too much, and having had to do that about 4 separate times on Ms. Mesmer and some other older alts, due to them adding new shinies to it over the years, I'm pretty-well sick of it.
Edit: And TsumijuZero snuck in while I was posting, so I have to give credit here to his (assumption) thread, where Ammon's Gauntlet strategy appeared, and thus spread to me, and onto Infinity for the first time. -
It's probably better to give it a few months, anyway. Conventional wisdom from when I lived in SoCal and a new one opened up nearby was that it wasn't as good because the grill wasn't properly seasoned through use.
-
All I know is that I'm going to have to take a break from trials at some point to go try and meet Damz.

Quote:They did give a highest concurrent figure quarterly, but stopped when it became the industry standard to not report on populations. The much-vaunted MMOGChart stopped updating with the same quarter that that change happened.I've always been curious about the actual number of players/subscribers. I don't know why it is such a big secret but the NC Soft people do not want to let us in on the actual numbers (they really don't want to let us know much of what is going on behind the scenes but oh well).
I think there are more people playing now than in recent history but that's just based on observations. I think some people also report there are a few 'dead servers' (whatever that means). It'd be nice to get a real picture of player pop. -
I have this as well, and I'm an 84 month vet. the Character that I found it on has never switched sides.
