Quote:^^ Reason why *I* Dropped to Premium. Financial hard times. I FINALLY Got a new job, started to bring in some extra cash, was gonna re-up then this happened. Like come on.It's plenty fair. They chose to drop their accounts. Something else was more important. I'm sure it's not pleasant to realize that the option to wait a week before you resub leaves you high and dry - just be glad you had the option instead of being locked into paying it every month.
Food on my kids plates was a bit more of a pressing priority. I could still log on and play as a premium member so there. -

Quote:Wait..Tom's Hardware, the global, mega PC hardware site (link here http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Par...oft,17315.html ) features a photo of a very depressed and shocked looking writer, who not only wrote an article about CoH and its closing but solicited NCSoft for further info, which I have re-posted here:
UPDATE: Here's the response we received from NCSoft:
Both NCsoft and Paragon Studios are incredibly proud of the success of City of Heroes, but unfortunately, the continued support of the franchise no longer fits within our long term goals for the company. All employees at Paragon Studios are affected by this decision, including the management team.
We will begin the City of Heroes sun setting process immediately with the goal to officially stop our service offerings for the franchise on November 30, 2012.
This was a very tough decision to make and wish the best for all Paragon Studio employees in their next ventures.
I know Business-ese.
They are withdrawing their financial support from Paragon Studios. Pretty much If we can get the IP, or another PUBLISHER can get the IP and all that it contains, it can still go. The Server infrastructure, I have no idea if that can be part of the deal too.
Cmon NCsoft, please sell our subdivision to a great landlord instead of turning us into a parkinglot! -
I remember being on the closed beta running Keyes with you. You kept faceplanting. That was rather amusing. I did enjoy attempting to hammer out the strategy with you.

Hey Rednames, if it's possible can any of you go in and throw the switch and make EVERYONE VIP? And stuff? That would be great...

Love my fire/cold corr I call her my uber glass cannon.

Nope. Not gonna do it. I'd like to actually PARTICIPATE and get some form of shiny for my attendance thanks. SBing the whole league just means that's all I do for the whole trial. Aing happening. STFU thanks.
If I see a stoner in League yes I'll lavish the SB love on him, but for the love of GOD I WILL NOT DO THE WHOLE LEAGUE. Get it? Good. -
I probably would have read it, but I don't have Aspergers syndrome either. It's such a subjective thing...

I found my 7yo Aspie daughter eyeing my Scott Pilgrim vol 1 (Haven't finished it yet and will be getting the rest soon I'm hoping) and I told her she's a little too young to read it yet.
At what age should I let her read them? That's a pretty straight forward question eh? -
Imma macroing "You know how no matter how you try the Minions keep running around aggroing the whole map and getting into trouble? The AI was modeled after my kids... gotta run." to something

Quote:Maybe Cole's forces infiltrated Paragon Studios and forced them to Retcon it..If the Devs are stating they retconned it then that doesn't mean that it wasn't originally intended to be so. It means they changed their minds.
Actually, I find that sort of a pity. Sort of makes Emperor Cole a bit blander than he was before. Now he's just a power hungry guy like Recluse and Nemesis. Without the "Ewww" factor he's not quite the same Tyrant he used to be.
OR....
THOSE WHO CHOSE TO RETCON IT ARE LOYALISTS!

Quote:It's a game the whole family can play! Most of us didn't grow up with an immortal grandfather.
And the thought of Marcus dating someone her age is probably not nearly as uncomfortable for Miss Liberty as knowing about the relationship her alternate self (who she met) has with her grandfather's double! -
1235678 Team Buffed, done.
Numpad binds ftw. (omitted one number because that number is me..can't target self)
Problem?
Don't want SB? I'll put a hole re-enforcer sticky on your number. But don't expect me to remember in the heat of battle. So suck it up princess I'll buff you if it gets hairy and we need you to pew pew moar. (Like in the Battle Maiden Battle in Apex. SB = GOOD because it gets you out of those blue puddles of death faster. -
Quote:Hah. Laptop to hospital? pfsff Nub. I was on my desktop two hours after my son was born. No stupid drives to the hospital, the medical team came to MEH! hehehehBloodspeaker and I have not yet gotten around to having children (partly because we're not in a financial position to do it properly, and partly because, well, the world can barely handle us, let alone us combined via offspring). When we do, however, the kids will be raised properly as gamers. Cthulhu plushies, immediate members of Sister Flame's posse, baby shower registration at ThinkGeek, the works.
And the laptop is coming with me to the hospital, where I will be hosting a TF, and screaming over chat, "TO HELL WITH MY CHARACTER, *I* WANT 'DULL PAIN'!"
And at that time, I will be cheerfully begging for all the mom advice I can get from the ladies on the forums.

Quote:And that's why we took steps after two. (Not for the insurance because we live in Canada, but...because of the whole outnumber thing)I don't see where it is significantly different than reading a book or watching the TV, except it is a bit more interactive.
After 4 kids of my own, I don't see a problem.
The first kid changes your life in ways that you have no clue about going in. You tend to have that "deer in headlights" aspect associated with the "Oh, wow . . . I'm a parent" amazement . . . and panic.
The second kid is not twice the work. The first one acts up due to all the attention being paid to the baby, and later the two learn to play off of each other, so it is really about four times the work.
The third kid is no big thing . . . until you realize, "Oh no! Now they outnumber us!"
The fourth kid ends up being, "Eh, what the hell. Another one won't make much of a difference." The biggest problem first off is that Insurance forms only allow for 3 kids. -

Thanks
. He is now, a very energetic level 4 Dual pistols/storm corruptor. Runs around with his two nerf guns causing havoc and leaving the room looking like a stormy corr went barreling through. I even found one of his army men in the ceiling fan. He's pretty squishy though.

Quote:My husband was passed out cold (1am-3am labour/Delivery/midwife departure). I was on that post-birth adrenaline high, couldn't sleep, and I was starting to nurse my son. Now, that was my second kid, Staring at a nursing baby gets boring after a while, especially when one is doing it for about 45min at a kick. Grabbed my boppy pillow and ran a few missions. This kind of thing just scares me and makes me all O.O!
I'd be bonding with my child after a birth, not MMOing. Seems kinds messed up not to be spening that time with your child and/or husband.
Post labour insomnia + breastfeeding + sleeping husband = I need something to do or I'm going to go crazy with boredom. -
