Yeah, I wouldn't count CoV. I think we can see from this that while CoV was a game in its own right (that tied closely in with CoH), Going Rogue isn't as self-sustaining as CoV could be, maybe because it isn't as big (I hope not) or maybe because the storylines and components of it require CoH and/or CoV. I think this makes sense because if you ONLY had Going Rogue, how are you gonna switch sides? So I think it's fair to call GR the "first expansion" because it's the first time you've needed the original game.

    Hey devs!

Come on, guys! Don't you see you're playing right into Samuraiko's hands? This whole "retirement" thing was just a scam to get people to post things like this and get her some dough for her work. I'll bet she has epic trailers for the next four issues and dangles them over the Devs' heads until they agree to her terms.

    /conspiracy

Seriously though, Samuraiko's vids are pretty darn impressive and I'd love to see more, paid or not.

  5. I miss the Out of Combat System, too. Statesman talked about features of it in detail, as I recall, and it simply disappeared. We could do thinks like train in the Bomb Squad which would reveal where explosive glowies were on the map. I know parts of this were implemented with Inventions and the Day Jobs, but I always remember it as being something that sounded really cool.
  6. I *should* have 60 months. I actually joined about a month after release, but then I got a second account which became my main account and I let the subscription lapse for 2-3 months or so, so I'm nearly a year behind where I "should" be overall.

I'm envious of all you old timers

Same goes for heroes turned villains too. Other villains don't know where you stand, so you have to earn your way up so that Arachnos trusts you enough to give you access to those enhancements etc.
Hmm, yes, that does make sense too. I guess it'll boil don to exactly how the Devs decide to make side-switching work.

On the note of badges, I don't think they'll go away. I mean, those are given based off your accomplishments. Just because you're evil now doesn't mean you didn't defeat Tyrant, y'know?

    Rogue Theories

I could see an argument for keeping Influence/Infamy. Let's say you're a big-time hero, lots of Influence. Then you turn evil. All the villains already know of you and probably feared you in the first place. BING! Infamy. On the flip side, I could see villains still being "infamous" in their own way... if an ex-villain came into my shop I know I'd give him what he wanted.

It's not exactly the same, granted, but it might work...
  9. I'm looking forward to a revamp of the existing Praetorians. I think one of the Devs mentioned something like it. Obviously, some of them work fine as-is because they're more fleshed out - like Tyrant and Dominatrix and Neuron. But some are just thrown in to be the "ebil opposite" such as Marauder. I'm eager to get a better look at the interactions between these people and how their world actually works, maybe with Tyrant's "organization" having a ladder to climb similar to Arachnos'... but with something to stand it apart.

  11. Let's see...

Spider from 19-24 (Crab Backpack, woot)
Warshade from 30-32 (in one mission... filled with AVs)
    Stalker from 47-48

I think that's about it, since a lot of my time Saturday was spent throwing my Stalker uselessly at AVs and my time Sunday was spent on the Warshade and Spider in non-farm AE teams that performed great.

    Rogue Theories

I hope what Golden Girl suggested is right, because it would be fantastic. I'd be very into "moral choice missions", hopefully that are more in-depth and subtle than "Burn a box of kittens OR build robotic parents for every sad orphan". I'd also hope that you can see your "Good/Evil points" so that if you're intent on being heroic, you can get more hero points, or vice versa with villains, or keep track of just *how* villainous or heroic you are. I know I'd try a character that made the same honest decisions that I would, to see where I landed.

I know it's all theory, but it's a great one.

I'm only at 0.11 because this account was forum-inactive for.. quite some time, and I'm not nearly as post-happy as I once was. In the wild days of my youth, though, I'd probably be between 15-20 posts a day.

If you scroll down in the posting page (not Quick Reply) you'll see a tiny list where things are listed as "ON" or "OFF" - click on "Smilies are ON" and a new page will open with a list of the commands for all the new smilies. I had to change my ":P" to have a tiny "p" to make it work.

Which is silly, because my tongue isn't that small.

I think a lot of what you're pointing out comes from the fact that the communities really were separated for a long time. Firstly, the Americans were here first. I'm not saying that to "claim" anything, I'm leading up to something ( ). Then the European players came, without much real interaction between the two groups. After the Europeans came, a lot of CoH news was posted to you first, usually being relayed by posters before it was officially posted by the Devs. This led to a lot of (mostly joking) posts about "The Devs love the EU players more!". The NA boards have, since then, always made European jokes. Most of them are lovingly, because really, we love Europeans. You guys have the best TV and comedy. Now that you're here, though, those jokes are being made to your faces and I can see how that may seem unfriendly. But they're just that: jokes, and I'm sure they'll swell down once the initial "The British Are Coming!" feeing subsides.

As for the EU Lounge, I think it's a good idea. There's a lot more of us than there is of you (I think, anyway) and it's a place where you can meet with the familiar EU posters without feeling lost. But that's just my feeling on it.
  17. General rumour - totally unconfirmed - is that 50s can unlock 10 "super" enhancements slots that do a lot more than regular slots, simulating 10 levels from 50-60. This rumour stems from a new feature survey sent out some time ago that included items very similar to what we're getting now.

This one was a huge drain on my fun. It was worse when I died and came back into the mission to find that the 3 ambushes to kill weren't actually the 3 patrols that had spawned on me (and their Boss friend), but there was even more patrols and 3 more groups with bosses, one of them as another ambush when I started fighting a boss! I died a lot in there and I hated every minute of it.

Then there's the mission from Dark Watcher where [*SPOILER ALERT!*] you have to fight the robots Nemesis used to impersonate the Freedom Phalanx. Manticore isn't too rough if you have good Defense, but Positron is... well, Positron. And it's impossible to get him to stop chasing you if you're trying to get away and regroup. That's always one of my most dreaded missions.

Besides that, anything with Silver Mantis or Ms. Liberty, since they're both pretty unstoppable. Silver Mantis especially, since she pops up every 5 levels or so guarding something.

  21. Wow! Those colors were a lot more in-depth than I'd imagined. Very, very impressive. This could revitalize the lowbie game for me, not to mention theme characters.

This is basically the Nemesis system that was scrapped for CoH and brought into Champions.
  23. I'd still like something like the Nemesis System (not the villain!) where you could create your own archenemy. I *think* that Champions Online, er, stumbled across this idea, though, so my hopes aren't really up that high.

Besides that, there's still lots of things that the Devs promised us once that fell through like Avillians, Incarnates, Blood of the Black Stream (i.e. more Epic ATs) and maybe something like Statesman's old Out of Combat System. Maybe these, like Power Customization, "Couldn't be done at Cryptic" and could return later.
  24. I hate more 'parts' of zones than actual zones. For example, The Pit in Sharkhead. It's a giant hole that I *always* fall in and *always* struggle to get out of.

But for zones that I really do hate, I'd have to say Boomtown and Dark Astoria, but only because they both have *so* much undeveloped potential. I'd love to see them both get a Faultline-esque redo, because Boomtown has a ton of potential for Rikti, Freedom Phalanx, and 5th/Council stories and DA has Banished Pantheon story opportunities.
