Try this.

1)Open case with the power cable unplugged.

2) Look for a battery on the motherboard, the kind you see in wristwatches and some toys

3) remove battery using this guide http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm
Not the best guide, but it says enough.

Once the battery is no longer in its cradle, plug the power back in and turn the pc on. The PC will start with factory defaults.

Attempt to run it in Safe Mode.

Start the launcher, tick the Safe Mode check box, and launch the game.

You could also use Verify Files to scan for corrupted data.

A lot of people have complaint about CoV not being evil enough.

There could be more behind it that you think. There are some people who, even briefly, project their values onto a character and would be disgusted at the sort of work that embodies true villainy (ex: terrorism, [censored], massacres, etc.)

Rather than risk driving away players with the most common set of values, creative development must turn the evil dial down to that of a lawful-evil, fascist, dog-eat-dog that the Rogue Isles seem to be.

Besides, if the CoV gameplay and environment were as evil and dark as some players want it to be, there would no contacts or even citizens. It would just be ruins and a few remaining savages constantly trying to dismember eachother.

Yeah, the new PvP crowd seems to have little respect for their opponent's strategies.

This one time in RV I hit phase shift because 4 villains and a heavy were attempting to gang up on me on my DM/Regen scrapper while webnaded.

Then the corruptor started saying on /b "lol phase shift on regen."

Then I attacked him later on and he used his own phase shift.

It's funny. His standards changed under the new circumstances.
